I hadn't dressed up for anything since pre-pandemic -- my dress size was 8R in this it was 10R; whether that's the brand/fit or my post-pandemic body, I'm not sure. Either way, I was very grateful for the backup size! I work a nude-tone Spanx Uni-Suit under it and was very comfortable -- that said, I should have gone strapless or clear straps b/c of the contour of the sleeve at the back of the shoulder, my bra straps were visible. I observed that another reviewer said this also and it was true in my experience as well: The zipper is a bit difficult right at the waist band. In my case (and in theirs, as I recall) the fit was great it was just like there was too much fabric sewn into the facing under the zipper for it to pull smoothly. Again, it fit fine -- just added some anxiety when trying on and getting ready! I had a little trouble choosing accessory colors for this one -- I went with gold and abalone earrings (Kendra Scott also from RTR) and this pewter clutch with gold zipper detail. I think I made the right choice as black metals would've been lost against the gown. That was my only real styling challenge, though. I wore this with a flat shoe and it was perfect.
