Flattering, sophisticated, understated.
Looks way more impressive in person. The heavy ponte cloth was very supportive and flattering in the skirt and held its shape well at the 60-s inspired asymmetrical neckline. It's an elevated LBD - the neckline can be pulled low off one shoulder, or rest higher for an Audrey Hepburn feel - and the asymmetric short/er sleeves are fun and fashionable - it's a sophisticated but fun look that makes the dress have statement. Love it. Went online and bought one as soon as i got home!

Great color, comfy fit - and... POCKETS!
Wore my backup size (8) and it was a little too big at the bottom, mostly due to my height - the dress has a subtle hourglass shape to it, but waist was a bit too long on me, which put the flare of the hips and the added fabric from the pockets too low on me, adding a little unwelcome width, and it would have been more flattering if it hit at the top of knee rather than below it - BUT if you're 5'3" or up this wouldn't be as much of a problem for you. Otherwise, the dress was great - the fabric had some weight, but was still comfortable on a hot day - even through the dancing! - the ruffled sleeves were a great detail, and it was the perfect balance between formal and casual for a summer outdoor wedding.

Cute and comfortable
Thanks to the intel from other reviews I got this in medium and large - and as expected, I ended up wearing the medium dress with the large slip under it โ and even then the slip was skintight. The medium dress fit perfectly - not too tight or too loose - and looked great . the large dress was just too big and shapeless, but the medium slip was more like an XS. I wore this to a dinner party so I spent most of the evening sitting down but every time I stood up I had to pull the slip down because it would keep creep ing up almost up to my waist. If I ever rent this again I'm probably going to wear my own slip underneath to avoid these problems. In any case it was comfortable and fancy without being too formal - the bell sleeves are 3/4, so I didn't have to worry about them dragging or getting caught in things. Overall a good choice - I just don't know what is up with the slip sizing.

NOT for the short and large-chested
The dress itself is lovely, great fabric, airy and and really pretty print, and overall looks less informal in person. I'd rented it for an outdoor California wedding, thinking it would just be flowy and hippie-ish in an upscale way -- but failed to take into account what would happen when my 5'0" height and generous bust and hips met alllll those liiiitle pleats. The overall effect was very Violet Beauregarde - but in floral print. I didn't have a belt to cinch it, which might have been an option - but I think this dress would look best on those with less curves, or a lot more height.
