The Draping!
Ugh, Proenza Schouler is so good at draping. Even though this is a jersey knit, it hung and moved beautifully. I sized up because the medium wasn’t available and it worked for me, though a medium would have made for a slightly better fit. It was comfortable to wear commuting on a hot summer night and sitting in an indoor theatre to watch a play for hours.

Pretty, but SHORT if you have a long torso.
Such a pretty dress with structure. Unfortunately, it was not suited to my long torso. The belt hit too high and the dress was so short that it did not cover my entire bottom.

Beautiful But Work
I loved the feel and drape of this dress and felt sophisticated wearing it. However, it took some work to wear. The v-neck gapped a lot in my chest, so I had to pin it closed. I also had to wear shorts underneath because the dress hit short, especially when sitting. The back also wrinkles easy.

Good with Caveats
Mostly loved these for an oversized wide-leg jean look. They do stretch as you wear them, especially in the waist, so I had to pop them in the dryer to get them to shrink back after each wear. I also found the hem of the jeans to be messy. They hit a little short and tended to curl up and not lay flat.

Gorgeous materials. Felt good on as a light spring jacket. I found the shape to be a bit boxy and big for my liking and the arms a bit long.

Annoying to Carry
I adored the structure, color, and materials of this bag. However, the handle made it difficult to carry. The opening made it too small and awkward to put on your shoulder, the knots at the top of the handles made it hard to grab with your hands, and the size of the bag made it awkward to wear on your arm.

Nice, but unspectacular.
Lovely, lightweight skirt. Fit a bit large in the waist for me. Excellent for hot days. Not spectacular.

Liked the Idea
I might have liked these better a size or two down. They were too big in the waist and sagged. I liked the wash and the draping it would have had if the waist fit.

Big
Ran big in the waist for me. It also flared like an a-line skirt rather than tapering at the bottom as shown in the photos. Did not wear.

Okay!
I wore this a few times and got some compliments. It’s warm with interesting details. It also found it ran big and didn’t have a particularly flattering fit on my larger chest.

Almost!
So pretty, but didn’t end up wearing because it was too large in the waist and a bit too cool-toned for me. It also felt like a lot of fabric in the skirt—it’s giving pretty princess if you’re into that. Love the way it looks on others in the reviews!

Pretty, but not quite right.
Loved the feel of this shirt. I didn’t end up wearing it because the color was a little too cool-toned and the fabric too shiny to be flattering against my warmer-toned skin. Also, runs larger, even for an oversized look.

Not a Fit for my Figure
I loved this dress on the hanger! Beautiful color, fabric, and shape. Unfortunately, it didn’t work for my body type. I have an hourglass figure and a long torso. For me, it was too tight in the hips and butt and too loose in the waist and chest. The waist also hit much higher than my natural waist. Can see this being a fun dress for another body type.

Even Better in Person
Lovely dress for a semi-formal ceremony. Drapes beautifully on curves and lays in a way that is flattering without shape wear. I wore a small because it was what was available at the time, but wonder if I should have sized up for length (fell a little short for me with heels, but I am taller than average). I received so many compliments on this.

beautiful and feminine, but some issues
Lovely dress for pear and hourglass shapes. I loved the color and the way it hugs the hips. Lots of compliments and stares. The bust is quite small and the underbust line sat well above my underbust. The straps on the shoulders were also too long even at the shortest adjustment (and I have a long torso and a full bust). Wore with a red bra the same color and was able to blend the straps. .

Not Flattering for Long Torsos
This dress looked beautiful from the front: flattering fabric, rich blue hue, accentuated my hourglass figure. But, from the side, the fit was awful. Because I have a chest, the dress hit as an empire waist rather than at true waist, making the fabric look messy and my torso look freakishly long (moreso than it does already). The portion meant to give room for the hips hit way too high in back, meaning extra fabric above and tight fabric across my booty. May be flattering on shorter torsos.

Beautiful Color
Absolutely stunning color and fabric. Would give it 5 stars if it weren't for the hardware at the waist (which isn't my taste, and I found rotates and tangles the belt through the day if you're doing a lot of walking) and how easily it wrinkles. Got compliments all day. I (long torso, curvy on top and bottom, small waist) found that it fit true to size, which surprised me because I expect to have to go up a size with higher-end designers, especially to accommodate my wider hips and booty. I ordered this in a 4 and 6, and could have worn either, but preferred the 4 for the narrower fit in the shoulders. As other reviewers have noted, this is not a true wrap dress. But the belt is adjustable, which is great for a better fit for those of us with hourglass and pear shapes.

Better for Straight and Narrow Body Types
Thick fabric with very little stretch. As someone with a long torso, small waist, and curves, the fit was *way* off: it had ncan't-lift-my-arms-narrow shoulders and was tight in the chest and hips, yet the structured and fitted waist fabric—which looked pretty on the hanger—was too big on me.

Awkward Fit
Pros: -Pretty prints and colors. -Had some definite "cool girl" vibes. Cons: -Awkward fit. Waist hit too high, chest was too small, waist was too big, and arm holes and sleeves were too big. Uncomfortable and unflattering. The dress was also shorter than I expected, though would have looked good with black tights if not for other fit issues. -Cheap fabric. The skirt was slightly see through in certain light. The fabric was not printed on both sides, which meant that you'd expose the cheap looking underside if you rolled the sleeves. Combined with fit issues, made for a sloppy look.

Pretty, but not a standout
As someone with a deep love of wrap dresses, I rented this via RTR Unlimited expecting to fall hard for this garnet number. The dress, unfortunately, was just alright. To be sure, it's a pretty garment: great pleated details along the neckline, sophisticated cut, and does the body-flattering work many women have come to expect of wrap dresses. But it wasn't a standout item. For one, it's far less vibrant than the photos make it seem--a dark maroon-violet or even a raisin where I expected a deep, dark scarlet. A gem-tone, yes, but with less pop and vibrance and royalty. For another, the viscose fabric laid and felt a bit cheaper than expected (e.g., the contours of my bra straps and underwear lines easily showed). The ruffle detail across the skirt front was also difficult to position--the fit was such that it positioned itself along the side of one hip, making me look a bit lopsided and wide, rather than falling just off-center. I've got a small waist and wide hips, so this wasn't a problem of me not filling it out on the bottom. Again, it's a very pretty dress. But as someone ready to be wowed, it didn't inspire.

Unflattering!
Beautiful color and fabric, but the proportions of this dress was so wildly unflattering! Did not wear. 1) The waist was huge, which made me look much wider than I am. 2) Hips were fitted fine, but the ruffle cuts in such a way that it falls to the side and makes them look huge. I don't mind a curvy figure, but this was lopsided and unattractive. Plus, paired with the large waist and hemline mid-thigh, it looked even worse. 3) Sleeves were also large, and large beyond their bell-shaped cut. Again, paired with the other disproportionally large sections, it looked sloppy. FWIW: I'm 5'8" and 34-28-39 (with a longer torso).

Not my taste.
Pros: -Loved the cut! So rare to find a fitted, knee-length dress with longer sleeves. Had just the right amount of stretch to skim and flatter my smaller waist and larger hips. Cons: -As other commenters have noted, the fabric is thick, a bit itchy, and can get hot if you're not in a cool climate or you start moving at anything above a mosey. -Sparkles!? I did not pick up in the photos that the black fabric is glittery. Really takes down the sophistication level of the dress. -Odd shoulder design. The fit in the armpit is really large and the placement felt graphic cutout around the top of the arm makes the dress look childish. Again, really takes down the sophistication level of the dress.

Not for Curvy Ladies
Terrible fit for my hourglass/pear shape. I followed guidance and sized up to a medium for my wider hips. The suggestion was correct: the dress does run small in the hips. But the proportions are such that following the guidance meant that while it fit my hips and booty (but was still slightly uncomfortable because it didn't have nay give), it was HUGE on top. The cutouts on the side became big gaps that, looking from the side, you could see most of my upper abdomen through. Wildly unflattering. FWIW: I'm 34-26-40

J'ADORE!
Don't think I've ever seen the cliche of "heads turning" on such full display until I wore this dress. Normally, I would have been slightly embarrassed by the attention, but this number gave me the moxie to OWN IT. My significant other was slack-jawed. A stranger came up to me and told me "honey, you need to wear that dress every day!" Among other verbal and nonverbal compliments. The dress doesn't look like much on the hanger, but that's because your body makes it a stunner. As someone with an hourglass shape that includes full hips and a booty, I was pleasantly surprised--neigh, ABSOLUTELY THRILLED--to have a designer dress that embraced and perfectly hugged those curves, rather than trying to flatten, squeeze, or hide them. The silhouette also gives you delicate shoulders and a trim waist. It also had perfectly balanced construction for me--enough fit and give to keep seductively close to my feminine shape, but enough structure that I wasn't regretting eating a sizable dinner (imagine it would also have the same effect if you're worried about small bumps or curves that might show in a skintight bodycon dress). The length and style also make it a more sophisticated sexy. The red lace is also a beautiful color, and closer to a true red. The beige slip underneath matched my skin tone to the point of being near-invisible, but if you've got a darker tone might lead to a different (but still pretty) look. The dress was very comfortable and easy to wear too (you can wear a regular bra!!!). My only caution would be not to wear this dress if you think your event would involve any sprinting--the length and fit mean that you can't take super-long strides. But walking (ahem, strutting) and dancing were wonderful.

Absolutely Elegant!
Lovely dress. As other reviewers noted, there are so many details that the photos don't capture that make it look so much more sophisticated and expensive. I felt elegant wearing it, and got so many compliments. I'm 5'7", and the dress hit mid-calf. Looked great with flats, and even better with heels. Easily transitions from work to cocktail party too. I'm guessing the dress runs true to size, but had to size up since the 6R wasn't available. The larger size worked alright because of the fitted waist, however, so if you're on the fence, don't be afraid to go up one. My big complaint was that the dress arrived without the ribbon that cinches the waist. I had to take it on a work trip and didn't have time to find a replacement before I left, so had to use a black shoelace. It worked fine, but felt like a ridiculous hack for a $1000+ dress.
