I worried when I ordered this one whether it would be a flop or a fail. I felt like people would either love it or hate it. They LOVED it! I had intended for this dress to match a peacock tree I did for our local Festival of Trees, but in person it came off as darker than the pictures show. My husband thought the overlay with the ruffles was black. So if you're really intending to be bright, you might keep that in mind. One thing about this site I've asked over and over for: the designer's spec measurements and not just their generic size chart. I visited the designer's site and used those measurements as a guide and this dress fit like a glove. I'm a size 4, 5'6" and weigh 125 lbs. It was a little longer, but nothing heels and some awareness while climbing steps didn't fix. Overall, I love this designer and will continue to Rent the Runway every time I have a formal event. This solves the problem of always wanting a new dress!

This is a beautiful dress. I wore it to a formal fundraising gala and got tons of compliments. Beware, though, the fabric and bodice/shoulders are absolutely unforgiving. I normally wear a size six in most things. This dress is cut very small. I initially ordered the 6 and 8 going by the designer's size chart and my measurements. (I searched it up online and measured myself.) Then I had lost about five pounds so figured I'd be fine. Not at all! I couldn't zip the 6, could breathe, but not sit in the 8. I called Customer Service, which was fantastic, and they sent me the next two sizes. Once I had the 10 and 12 in hand, the 10 fit and was very sleek. I wore the 12 to the event because I wanted room to eat and dance. This was a unique opportunity for me to see actual difference in these sizes up close, and I would say there's about 3/8" (.75" total when considering both sides of the garment) difference in the seam allowance per size. If you're wide in the shoulders or have a more boxy/athletic body shape through the ribcage, I would say to definitely take that into consideration when ordering.

The material of this dress is much more beautiful in person than is depicted in the photos. It shimmers in all the right ways. I struggled with what size to order, based on the reviews, so first I would say this is very forgiving and stretchy. Also VERY COMFORTABLE to wear. I wear a size 6 or 8 depending on the brand and ultimately I chose the UK14/US10 with a backup in UK/16/US12. The size US8 was unavailable so I crossed my fingers, trusting the reviews. I could have stuck with size 8 had it been available. The 10 still fit well and was comfortable, it was just a bit loose through the torso and hips. The dress has a comfy liner that makes it very comfortable to sit and move. I received compliment after compliment and the drop shoulder was that little bit of extra that kept my husband coming back to kiss my shoulder all evening. Grab this one. If I didn't end up wanting a new dress every time I had a gala or formal event to attend, I would definitely put this in my closet!
