Wanted: Elder Milennials & Baby Gen X-ers!
I was *so close* to buying these BA&SH jeans. I never thought I'd say that about jeans with an elastic waistband. I mean, my grandmother wears stretchy waisted denim! These definitely had a casual, elderly skater vibe, and I loved that for me (and the jeans)! They're incredibly easy to slip into, and comfortable almost instantly, though the crotch felt half an inch too short for about 10-15 minutes. After that, the pants relaxed and were perfect. A 10.5-11" rise would've been just right for me. I'm only 5'4", but I like my jeans a little longer, so I was fine with the 31" inseam. I gave the hem a quick flip up and was good to go! My main fit note/issue was that the backside of the jeans relaxed too much during the second wearing. I didn't wear them long the first time, so I was disappointed to see the jeans looking so baggy in the backside. I rented a Euro 40/US 8 and they were true to size. I wore them with two different tops from my membership order, and easily captured both a casual preppy and boho-ish vibe with each outfit. If they hadn't gone from an initially near-perfect fit to wannabe JNCOs after one wearing, they might've been mine. I'd still rent them again, though!

Just Get It!
This knit polo is everything you could want in a minimalist, preppy piece! It's giving Wednesday Addams, but the pearl buttons and structured, frilly trim add the perfect feminine twist. It can be dressed up or down with a simple change of pants and shoes. I wore it for a Zoom meeting and got rave reviews from my colleagues! I rented the medium and it fit perfectly. 10/10 recommend!

Boho Without Being Overly Boho
I wore the medium Mitte Floral Top with a pair of BA&SH jeans from my order to hang with friends, and I was so comfy the whole time! The fabric is thin cotton, but thanks to the pattern it's not see-through. It's warm where I live, but the top breathed well and I never got overheated. The blouse itself has casual, yet minimalist boho vibe that I liked. If I wanted to be nitpicky, my least favorite part of the blouse was the elastic at the cuff. I didn't like the way it felt on the crook of my elbow when the sleeves rode up. However, I have a number of sensory quirks, so that's a me thing. Also, the photos online make the top seem lighter than it is. If you're expecting a top with more of a light pink vibe, this isn't the one for you. The darker berry/wine undertones really come through in person. I didn't mind because I carried a vintage burgundy Etienne Aigner bag that matched perfectly!

These Hips Don't Lie
Y'all, I was so excited for these jeans. Maybe it was the nostalgia of remembering my mom in a similar pair when I was young, but they were an immediate "add to shopping bag" when I saw them! They're literally the perfect 70s vibe denim. WELP. I may have been born in the 70s, but I was not born to wear 70s silhouettes! The Rosetta jeans will lay nicely on a straighter frame. I have an hourglass shape, so all mine did was pop out those pockets, haha! Size up! The web site suggested I order a size 6. I'm glad I ordered a size 8, because pockets aside, the 6 would've been too tight. They fit perfectly everywhere but there. They'll look fabulous on somebody - I'm just sad it wasn't me!

Win Some, Lose Some
Sadly, this one was not a winner for me. I rented the designer's Size 2, which is a US 8-10. According to just about everything else I wear, and the size suggestion being an 89% match, it should've fit. Well, the photos speak for themselves, haha! It was obscenely tight in the bust, and apparently my shoulders needed to be 3 inches higher?! I had a good laugh trying to fasten the buttons and taking photos, though. Bottom line: Size up, and may the odds be ever in your favor!

IT HAS POCKETS!!
I rented the Derek Lam Collective Tiered Dress in size IT 44/US 8 and it fit like a glove through the bodice. The fabric is a lovely ice blue poplin, which means it's a lightweight cotton, but with a denser weave that gives it a higher end feel and finish. This is the kind of dress you can wear for an elevated casual look while strolling Europe's finest art museums or attending a fancy tea party. It has low-key taffeta vibe and sound, so it can definitely be worn for a cocktail dress code event. It all comes down to how you accessorize it! It's not quite formal enough for a black tie affair, though. I'm busty, so it was a little too low-cut for me to feel comfortable without something underneath. It does have a hook and eye closure at the chest, but that wasn't high enough for my preference lol. If you prefer a little modesty, definitely opt for a lace camisole or simple tank underneath. I opted for a casual look when I styled it, and wore a pale grey tank under the dress. I paired it with rainbow checkboard Vans, and in one photo I'm carrying a vintage blue Coach Bixby sling bag. In the other photo I'm wearing a vintage blue Coach waist pack designed for the '95 Olympics. I wanted to show that the silhouette of the dress is well suited for any kind of bag. Happy accessorizing in your own way! Fabulous dress - would rent again!

Darling. Dark. Denim.
I really like the Remi high rise jeans from Hudson, and wore them a few times. I don't usually go for dark wash denim, but this pair was a really nice shade of blue. The best part was that even after a few wears they didn't get overly baggy or stretched out! I rented a size 29 and they fit perfectly through the waist and hips, though they felt and looked more mid-rise on me. The slits and distressing at the hem may not be for everyone, but I liked it! As someone who still listens Pearl Jam 30 years later, I need for my jeans to be comfortable but not look like I'm wearing "my good pair." I may be hitting middle age, but my mind it still at Lollapalooza '92 lol. When I wear jeans, I'm ok with ankle length or long enough to not look like high waters with a pair of Doc Martens. For example, these are below the ankle but brush the top edge of Vans classic slip-ons. I found it distracting to feel the back hem of the jeans moving back and forth, but I'm weird about stuff like that. I really considered buying these jeans, and probably would have if they were at least an inch longer. They really do look and feel good! Other notes: Paired with thrifted Nautica tee, white canvas sneakers, and a vintage Coach Companion Bag in navy. I upcycled a vintage scarf into a purse charm.

Say YES to This Dress!
I absolutely adore the Dion Dress by RAILS, and I'm *not* a dress person! It's seersucker with a lovely dainty floral pattern, and perfect for this time of year. I wore it to run errands and grab a late lunch, so I had more of a preppy-bohemian-casual look. It could easily be dressed up for a nice brunch, baby shower, or a daytime wedding, though! I ordered a medium, but definitely needed a small because the arm holes and waist were too big. I'm busty with a long torso, and when I sat down the midsection got wavy and the top of the dress rose up. I could easily fit 3 fingers stacked between the fabric and the top of my shoulders! The neckline of the dress is modest, which was nice. However, by design the 2 bodice ties don't fully close the dress. I wore a light-colored tank underneath so my bra didn't show through the gaps. I really appreciated the thin cotton lining from the waist down. No need to worry about it being see-through when the sun shines! I also really liked the length, because when I bent over to pick up something I didn't flash all my business to the world. That was another win! Other notes: Styled with white canvas sneakers, vintage Coach Compact Slim Satchel in saddle color, and earrings from @huicholamade on IG.

THE White Top to Try!
The Thakoon Collective eyelet top is perfect for those hot and humid days where you want to be comfortable, yet look put together! The crisp, white cotton gives preppy minimalist vibes, but the eyelets and overall cut add a touch of bohemian femininity. The size 6 fit perfectly through my torso and arms, but any major movement turned it into a crop top pretty quickly lol! I wore a light tank underneath and that worked perfectly. I paired this with the Hudson Remi High Waisted jeans that were also in my order. Those seem to fit more mid-rise on me, so I used a long scarf as a belt. In the future, I'd try an even higher waisted piece on the bottom half. Fabulous top, though! Other notes: Styled with my DIY rainbow Vans and a vintage bottle green Coach City Bag.

Bright ba&sh vibes
This Romy cardigan has all the fun, preppy vibes! It's all cotton and surprisingly dense. I was hoping it would have softer fibers, since cotton yarn can go either way, but it's fairly heavy and has lots of structure. I'm particular about how fabric feels, so I didn't love how it felt on my skin. I did love the cheerful colors, though! This would be a good piece for places where it's not too warm during the day and the temps get chilly at night. The only downside was it smelled weird when I got it, which was odd because the tags were still on it. The scent was like a smoky eucalyptus. I thought maybe it was me being nose-sensitive again, but after a while the smoke odor really kicked in, and I had to take off the sweater. I emailed RTR about it last night and they wrote me back this morning to say they opened a replacement spot for me! I appreciate the quick reply and them making it right! This cardi was paired with the Levi's 90s Jeans from my RTR shipment (see my review on that style's page), a vintage Coach Rambler, black tank, and white Vans I customized.

The 90s Called!
I was a 90s teen and loved button-fly Levi's, so I was excited to try these jeans. I was pretty stoked to be the one to remove the tags from them, too! They're paired with the ba&sh Romy Knit Cardigan that was also in my RTR shipment (see my review on that style's page), a vintage Coach Rambler, black tank, and white Vans I customized. TL;DR: The fit isn't for this short, hourglass baddie. I'm pretty sure the 90s want these jeans back lol! While they weren't for me, I think someone with a fuller backside and thighs will look fantastic in them! Keep reading for the rest of the story... I've lost a lot of weight, including the junk in my trunk, and am trying to find clothes that fit well. I had this issue back in the 90s too, but trust me, it's harder when you hit middle age! You want to look fresh without being too youthful, but also not like you're ready for the nursing home. The jeans initially fit well through the waist, but were a little baggy through the thigh and rear. They're a little long, but not bad with shoes on. I like my jeans longer anyway, especially if they're not skinny. The color is not for me, though. There's too much of a yellow undertone, which reminds me of bad acid washed jeans from the 80s, or when you add too much bleach and your whites turn yellow. After a quick dinner with my hubby, the waist hadn't stretched out. However, the rear and thighs were baggier! I pulled up my tank top and took the photos in the hall and restroom so you can see the way they hang after only an hour of wear. The search continues for my perfect pair of denim!
