Soft and just what you would expect. The side detail ties are nice. It's a bit dated I think - I got for "election watch" casual event with friends because of the stars on it. But otherwise wore around the house until I returned.

The straps come up off the shoulders a bit when you sit since the fabric is leather and a little stiffer. I did take in a suitcase to wear to a wedding and was worried the accordion pleats would smoosh. But unfolded perfectly- not even a steam needed! Little effort needed to zip over the fabric transition
