It billows.
Ladies, I WANTED to love this cape, as I fell in love with it when I first spied it on RTR. It has a Holmes-ian chic vibe, and I was so excited to order it. Sadly, it looked big, billowy and awkward with everything I paired it with. Maybe it's a good fit for taller girls, as I'm on the shorter, petite side. Oh well.

Elegant & swank, but it wasn’t my style.
I ordered this for my first trip out of Portland since the pandemic locked us down. I wasn’t sure about it when I ordered it, because Im not generally a fan of the handkerchief skirt fashion trend: I think taller women can rock it, but being an average height, it makes me look squatter: it’s not an attractive trend on me. The arms tend to run tight, so lifting your arms is restricting. The plunging neckline is more tasteful than trashy, and it’s a sweet little black dress option for those that like (or those that can rock) the Little Black Dress with a handkerchief dress cut. I wore it once and it was a solid pass for me. This also confirms I’m not for the handkerchief trend. HOWEVER, it’s a sweet dress for those who like the handkerchief trend.

I was pleasantly surprised
This work-take on the LBD is a winner! I wore it no less than 5x, and I'm strongly considering purchasing this dress: can a black dress possibly be elegant AND cozy? YES! The material has a thick, elegant feel, with a flirtatious swish & swirl when you move. I loved the rounded neckline, the perfect sleeve length, the way the material hugged my hips & torso, and the double paneling in the skirt kept me extra cozy in the unpredictable Portland spring weather. I only wish it had pockets!

A gorgeous dress pant that delivers
I was extremely happy with the fit of these dress pants, which can also be worn to work. I have to work, while most are sheltering in place, and if I must work, I must wear beautiful clothing! These pants delivered. I loved the lining, the pockets, the cut and the style. The only negative for me is, they were a few inches too long, and bunched at the hem, when I wore flats. However, the problem was solved, when I wore heels. I will rent these again: I'm actually considering purchasing them!

This is THE dress to wear when a NYE party awaits!
Don't be afraid of the sequins, ladies. This Badgley Mischka couture show stopper will earn you an entrance that even Lizzo would sing about! Ladies, I learned, nearly the hardest lesson: don't put off choosing your rental for the big holidays. I thought I was ahead of schedule, choosing a dress for NYE, and thank goodness this dress was available, because my first 15 choices were all SOLD OUT a month in advance! Give the big holidays a solid 90 days to 2-months lead time, to avoid being disappointed, and/or left with very few choices. I was slightly nervous about the fit, as I had gained some weight around the holidays, and the size 2 was the only size available. It has a forgiving give: I did wear my spanx, to be on the safe side. The arms didn't pull, and I had full range of motion in this dress. Just a heads up that the dress will ride up a few inches if you move around a lot, which after some dancing, I did notice the slight ride in the hemline. It certainly wasn't enough to cause a wardrobe malfunction. Another dress note: the sequins never caught on anything, which is always a concern I have when it comes to wearing sequin dresses, for sure. I've rented another Badgley from RTR, a shimmering silver sequin dress, and again, with that dress, I didn't have any issue with the sequins, either. My hunch is, the sequins only become an issue with cheaply made dresses: another reason to always rent from RTR :-) The emerald green color and sequin sparkle, combined with the backless design, earned me many, many compliments that night. After a craptastic 2019 I'd had, I was ready to turn heads, make an entrance, and welcome in 2020 with open arms. I accomplished ALL that, I'm happy to share.

I wish I could've given this 5 stars, but....Read my Details Review.
I quickly found this LBD in store, and it wasn't until I tried it on, did I fall in love with the design details (this is why couture reigns supreme): it has a peek-a-boo neckline, side slits on both legs, an open back portal cut, and it has a drawstring at the base of the portal cut, that you can tie into a bow, to tighten the torso and back, which I thought was another darling touch. It fit my body like a glove. Not once did I have to adjust the hemline! It was only when, a few hours later, I changed into this dress, did I discover the zipper had come off the track midway at the bust line seam, and there was no fixing it. The takeaway: It's a fresh design on the classic LBD, and has the versatility to be your OOTD/IRL, for your date night or a dress you'd wear to a special event. I absolutely loved this dress: it's a bummer about the zipper issue.

It doesn't hold much, but it's a pretty companion piece.
Oh woe is the woman who has to fumble with a tiny clutch that holds not much more than a lipstick, and if you're lucky, a few kleenex! I was lucky to be able to fit my lipstick, powder compact, mints, an ATM card and my scant amount of cash in this clutch. It was awkward fumbling with my iphone during the event, because there was no room left in this clutch for it, which was a bummer. The pros of this clutch are...well, it is very pretty, and you'll have women eyeing your clutch with envy all night! Just be warned: it doesn't have much room in it. I won't be renting this item again.

I had ordered these delicate beauties as a pairing to the pretty bracelet I ordered for a red carpet awards event, and I was happily surprised. I wasn't quite sure how they would work, as I don't normally wear earrings, but they really completed the elegant look I was going for, as my dress was quite the statement piece on its own! If you are looking for earrings that are elegant, eye catching yet understated, I cannot recommend them enough. I would order these again, absolutely.

Perfect compliment to my dress
I chose this lovely little bling as a pairing to the earrings I wore, and I was very pleased. It was a delicate bracelet, with understated elegance. If you're looking for something elegant, but nothing that screams "STATEMENT BRACELET!" this may be the choice for you. I appreciated that the clasp was easy to close, and in perfect working order. I also have tiny wrists and though it wasn't anchored to my wrist, I was in no fear of it slipping off. Low maintenance elegance and very purty, too :) I would rent this little beauty again.

This was my maiden voyage rental, and it was a big win!
My boyfriend and I were going to the Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle Awards, and I wanted to wear something I normally wouldn't, but as it was a red carpet event, I have to say, this is the closest I've been to feeling like a movie star! The cons: The dress is a bit snug and tightly hugs your curves, so don't try to do too much dancing it in, and the material may scratch under your arms and your legs as it did mine, so be aware of that. I thank my stylist for encouraging the belly spanx, because without it, I would've been self-conscious about my stomach. The pros: ABSOLUTELY head turning dress that truly will make you feel like a movie star. It compliments fair skin, as I have, and, if you're having one of those self conscious days, just slip this on, walk around the block and you'll feel much better about yourself, from all the positive reinforcement :) I also wanted to thank RTR: my dress package arrived VERY beat up, and they issued me a credit for it. I was impressed with my entire experience, and I've just rented from them again: thanks RTR!
