When I tried on this dress at home, it felt disappointing. A little matronly and dowdy. But I think it was just the end of a long work day and I wasn't feeling my best to begin with. The night I wore this dress at the wedding weekend events, I looked classic and contemporary at the same time. I prefer "sexy in a covered up manner" rather than overtly sexy and this perfectly fit the bill. Add some gold jewelry and 5" heels and the tired woman I saw in the mirror at home magically disappeared. Here stood a beautiful, confident woman whose silhouette was accentuated and celebrated.

Friday night events at the wedding were more casual than Saturday night. I wore it with the strap for Friday night and as a clutch on Saturday night. My dresses were completely different colors, fabrics and fits from one night to the next and yet this bag still went with both. Hard to believe that a pink leather purse was as versatile at this one was.

Truthfully, I was very worried about wearing this dress. It was not my first choice and felt drab in comparison to the fuchsia dress I had originally chosen. When it arrived, I couldn't get it zipped. So I was dejected thinking it didn't fit. I couldn't get the larger size zipped either! But I decided to risk it and take it with me anyway. No back up! Wedding evening came and I still couldn't get it even close to zipped. But instead of giving up, I mustered up all my courage and called the front desk asking for a female employee to come up to my room and zip up my dress. Turns out, all I needed was another set of hands! She got that zipper right up and it felt like it was made just for me. It hugged every curve in all the right places. The cut-out arm holes accentuated my shoulder/upper arm area, highlighting muscles I had forgotten were even there! The neckline was just unusual enough to make it extra interesting and the color was anything but drab! It was a beautiful aubergine that was just right for August. I cannot tell you how many compliments I received. But they were nothing in comparison to how I felt about myself.

This dress is incredibly flattering and easy to wear. The high neck plus cut-in arm holes draw attention to your arm without being too revealing. The blue and gold color combo was perfect for the season yet not basic black. My only complaint was that it was a little big in the waist. The smaller size would have been too small but this one was just a bit too roomy, leaving extra fabric that gaped a little. However, all in all a wonderful, compliment-garnering gown.

There couldn't have been a better fitting dress in all senses of the word. Not only did it fit my body to perfection, it also perfectly fit the occasion. I got more compliments the night I wore this dress than any other night I can remember. A friend whom I have known for 20 years even said it was her favorite look of mine in all the years we've known each other. The straps gave ample support to be able to wear a real bra and I didn't even think about fixing it or yanking at it one time throughout the night. My only tiny complaint is the length. I wore 5" heels and I would have really liked the wear the 4L but the tulle on the bottom was too ripped to wear. The tulle on the 4R was in infinitely better shape so even though I prefer my floor-length gowns to actually reach the floor, I'm probably the only one who noticed. I cannot recommend this dress enough. I definitely chose the right one.

Gorgeous dress that lays perfectly on the body. Does run a little big so make sure you get a smaller back-up size. The lightweight fabric keeps the dress from being too heavy with all the adornment. Elastic on the arms is a bit itchy but nothing you can't handle for one night. Length was perfect-hit mid-thigh.

This piece is a show-stopper. I can't tell you how many compliments I got when I wore it. It's a bit large on the top and I found the shoulder fell off more than I anticipated but the rest of the body fit perfectly true to size. The shoulder issue was a small price to pay for the overall look.
