I wore this dress as a bridesmaid in a black tie wedding. The gold overlay is gorgeous and has a little stretch to it. It has a little train (just of the gold lace), which made it even more elegant. I did have to be careful walking and recommend holding the train up/down stairs because you can snag a heel in the lace. It has a built in small corset (just two latches) which really helped the shape of the dress (i felt that my waist was a little lost otherwise) and made me feel comfortable without a bra. I felt supported all day/night. My only issue with the dress was the length. I'm 5'8" and ordered the 8L--it just grazed my bare feet. I wore 2 inch heels nonetheless, I didn't think it looked too bad to see my shoes clearly but would have preferred it otherwise. The train helped give the illusion it was a little longer than it was. I wish I had a picture of the back- but the scoop back is lovely and the dress hugs one's backside just enough to make it a little sexier but not inappropriate. The detail of the gold lace overlay is even more striking in person! Its a gorgeous dress for special occasion!

I wore this for a rehearsal dinner. The color is beautiful. It was a little snug in the hips and the fabric doesn't have much give, so I wore a 10 instead of an 8. This meant the top was a little bigger than I would have preferred. I didn't feel like I had enough support without a bra (maybe would have felt different in the smaller size), but I wore a nubra and felt comfortable all night. The dress showed a little more cleavage in the front than I realized, but with the fabric overlay, it was not as obvious. The detail on the back is really gorgeous-- it has very detailed flowers and lace and not just a mere opening. The detail is beautiful. So many people complimented the color and back.

The fabric is similar to scuba dress material--it was very stretchy, very comfortable, but thick enough not to show lines too obviously. It was a little tighter in the stomach than I preferred, but given the thicker tight fabric--it did a good job holding everything in and smoothing over. I wore it a little higher on the shoulder, so it was more between a cap sleeve and off the shoulder. I liked that look better on me and it allowed me to wear a normal bra with my straps just pulled to the side a little bit. I had a lot of compliments on the dress-- its lovely and the color/cut is striking!

If you have a small waist, I do recommend ordering down a size. I ordered and 8 and it was comfortable and didn't look large, but I definitely could have handled a 6. The fabric was light and I did not feel hot at the wedding (which was 85 degrees!) or dance floor all night. You will definitely need fashion tape for this-- i used a few pieces on each side--but then I felt great and didnt worry about revealing anything all night; nothing budged. I'm 5'8" and wore 2.5 inches and the regular length was perfect. I felt like a movie star-- go for it!

The dress was a little tighter in the hip/rear than I generally wear-- but the ruching made it work. It definitely shows off one's figure! It makes your waist look narrower and your rear look quite good :) I tried it with a backless bra (nubra) and without a bra, and decided to wear it without a bra. The fabric was thick enough and the waist tight enough that I felt supported and held up a bit. The fabric is very stretchy so its comfortable and its also a thicker fabric so it doesn't show lines.

I have a larger hip/stomach area, so it was a little tight in the 8; but in the 10, the chest/waist didnt fit as well. But because the fabric was thicker and stretchy, it looked fine to be a little smaller in the 8. It was also very comfortable-- it was stretchy but not clingy so you felt kept in but it did not show underwear lines. I generally don't feel comfortable going without a bra, but given the cut of this dress there wasn't much of another option (or get the sticky cups, but I didnt have those). However, again because of the thicker stretch fabric I felt comfortable without a bra. I used some fashion tape on either side of the bra area and danced the night away with no problem. I'm 5'8 and wearing 2.5 inch heels- the 8L was perfect. The extra length was needed. I've never received so many compliments or was asked many times where I got it. It's a gorgeous, comfortable dress-- go for it!
