I got a lot of compliments wearing this dress, and it looked good with heels and boots and certain flat sandals. I'm tall and short-waisted, and the waist and hem hit me in flattering places; probably the fit will vary a lot based on the wearer's height. I didi occasionally have to tug up the neckline to stop my bra from showing.

I found this dress too small in the chest (I'm a 34F, so, my boobs can be hard to accommodate). Additionally, the fabric was a little more "fun '80s repurposed bedspread" in person than the glamorous dress I was envisioning. I still liked it in person; it just wasn't quite what I'd been picturing. The other dress I'd ordered fit fine, so no big deal.

This was less tricky to wear than I feared it might be. It's a little blousy, and the cutouts are well placed to expose spots that are not too fleshy on most people. It has an elastic waist and is generally stretchy and easy to get into. On me, it looked better with a belt, but because the waistline hit just above the hipbone it was tough to get a belt to sit just right. And the side panel didn't totally cover my bra (I just wore a black one, halter-style, and in a dim nightclub you couldn't tell). I felt relaxed and hip in it. But if you're petite, it might run long on you. I'd definitely order a size down.

This was my first experience with Herve Leger, and I found it to be as others describe: runs a little small, but at the same time very slimming. I could have worn the M or the L of this dress, but chose the L for a little extra boob coverage and length. It was long enough for my (tall) height, and my 34F boobs did not ruin the line or take the dress in too tacky a direction. With my body type, I would really only wear this for a night out, not for a family event like a wedding, dinner or graduation. I wore it to a Las Vegas bachelor party: dinner out, a show and then dancing at a club, and found it comfortable and I got lots of compliments! On me, the large size was a tiny bit big across the upper back, but this wasn't really a problem. And the dresses arrived in near-pristine condition. Recommended!
