I normally wear a small, but I went with the medium on this dress to give it a bit more length because the small was way too short. The small nipped in at my waist and defined my curves a bit more, but I ended up being glad I had more stretch and give from the medium so I could eat, drink, and dance the night away; thanks to the fabric being a stretch knit, the medium still offered a more gentle curve hug. I agree with the reviews that suggest the fabric quality is questionable for a formal affair or wedding, and I almost decided against wearing this to my friends’ wedding because of it. Ultimately, though, I think the fishtail effect classed it up enough, and I wore it since I knew it would be my most comfortable option for the night. Of the RTR dresses I’ve worn at this point, it was probably my least favorite, but it was fun to try something different than what I would normally choose.

To quote a fellow guest at the wedding where I wore this dress, “I’ve never wanted to touch another woman’s dress so much in my life.” This dress was fun, flattering, and stood out in a crowd. The fit was easy and forgiving, and the fabric was thick enough that I didn’t feel uncomfortable or too exposed. My only issue was that despite being freshly showered and wearing deodorant, it got a bit sweaty and stinky because of the thickness and tightness. That made it a little uncomfortable and would be the only thing that’d make me hesitate to rent it.

I typically wear a 4, so I ordered the small with a medium as backup. After reading other reviews and seeing a lot of comments about the lining riding up, I opted for the medium since the slip (which has stretch to it) was a bit looser. It made for more comfortable dancing, eating, and sitting, so I'm glad I sized up. I felt so comfortable in the dress, and I lost track of how many compliments I received on it that night. It is sexy but classy, and it is my favorite dress I've ever worn other than my wedding dress. I would 100% recommend it.
