This is the 4th Herve Leger dress I've rented from RTW. Compared to the strapless, one strap, and spaghetti strap styles (and geometric patterns), this was on the conservative side. I felt pretty, but not as sexy as in some of the other Herve Leger dresses I've rented. While I probably would not rent it for a hot date or a night out, it was appropriate and understated enough for the event (brother's rehearsal dinner). I did no wear a bra with this since the fabric of Herve Leger dresses is always so fitted and structured (just petals), and looking back I probably should have worn one to give me more shape, since the fabric tends to squeeze you in and flatten you out a bit being so high cut in the chest.

Beautiful colors and cut, I got many compliments and my fiance loved it on me:) I did not wear a bra with this, but some silicone petals in case it got cold. Another winner by Herve Leger-so flattering on my atheltic build. Fitted and sexy while still being long enough to look classy.

My fiance planned an over the top date night for us in a well known Manhattan jazz/cocktail lounge, so I wanted to wear something extra special. This dress was perfect-bright color, sexy and curve hugging without being too short. It was a little big on top in the bust area, but you couldn't really tell too much, and it was fine without a bra since the material is thick enough and very high quality/sturdy. It's possible I could have gone with the XS, but only S was available and it worked out beautifully. I am definitely look forward to renting more Herve Leger dresses for future events from Rent the Runway!

My pic doesn't do this dress justice as the lighting is a little wierd, but you get the idea! I rented this dress because I was singing in a concert under a very famous baroque music conductor at Lincoln Center--I was singing in the ensemble, so I had to wear something black, but don't own any black formal gowns. Since I also had a solo in this concert, I didn't want to step out for a featured moment in some old faded black clothes pieced together from my wardrobe, so I went with this gorgeous and simple Nicole Miller gown. I am 5'2 and the 2R was perfect with 3 or 4 inch heels--I ended up having to wear ballet flats because my heels made too much noise on the stage, and even though the dress dragged a little, it was not too terribly long on me even in flats. In order to keep the straps looking sort of separated to make that pretty line on the shoulder, I had to use double sided garment tape, otherwise there is no way they would have stayed like that. But with the garment tape, it was perfect. Even if you are small chested and don't need to wear a bra, I would recommend wearing a strapless bra to give you a little more shape and structure underneath. It was very comfortable to sing in (has some stretch to it) and I got many compliments on it. The zipper was a little stiff and got stuck a few times, but if you have someone holding it straight for you as they zip, it doesn't give as much trouble.
