Nice, light weight material. Has a spandex quality to it, so not very forgiving of imperfections. For example, I wore a camisole underneath to make it more work appropriate and the line from the hem was very visible under the dress. The length was mid-calf on me (5'4").

I didn't love this dress and ended up not wearing it. The material is thick, which is good for fall/winter. I found it to be too boxy on my curvy frame. What I loved about the opening in the back was detracted by the fact that the material underneath is a shiny spandex which made the dress look cheap.

I wore this dress to work and again for a job interview a week later with my Unlimited subscription and absolutely loved it! Was conservative enough for work/interview without being boring or stuffy. I felt great wearing it and received lots of comments. It's definitely form fitting in the midsection and based on other reviews I was nervous about getting the Small (the Medium was unavailable) but it was manageable with Spanx. If you're self conscious about this area you may want to go a size up for more forgiveness but I found it to be pretty true to size.
