The ruffle is everything
This dress was the perfect amount of glam for a black tie wedding. Less is more underneath—I basically wore a pair of pasties and a thong. I am 5'4" and wore 5" heels and the back of the gown was still just a teensy bit too long. I think the shorter length would have been too short.

Gorgeous, but trim is darker than it appears!
I rented this dress for a fancy charity dinner that I was invited to at the last minute. This was the only Herve dress left in my size so I snagged it. Boy am I glad I did! This dress gets solid reviews for a reason! It's very flattering, and there is no need to wear a bra with it. As other reviewers have mentioned, the light colored trim is NOT white. I wouldn't even call it ivory; it's really dark enough to be called taupe. I would say this dress runs a little on the small side -- I am a size 2 and I had to get my husband to help me into the size Small. There's no way an XS would have fit me.

I don't usually wear yellow, but I really liked this dress!
I wore this to a fancy dinner while vacationing in Palm Springs. I usually wear a size 2, so based on others' reviews I ordered a 2 and a 4 as my backup size. I actually wanted to wear the 4, but some of the pleating wasn't laying right, so I zipped myself into the 2 and it was fine. The smaller size appeared to have been worn a lot less and the pleats on the bodice were behaving much more nicely. Overall a cute dress but it definitely runs small in the waist. I paired it with cowboy boots so I didn't have to make a pair of heels fit in my carry-on just to wear them once.

Comfortable to wear, sequins are gorgeous!
I found this dress to fit very true to size. I don't have much of a waist (I am built very straight and narrow), but the asymmetrical nature of this dress was very flattering. I got compliments all night long! Would definitely rent this one again.

Great neckline & subtle sequins!
I rented this dress for my bachelorette party. I loved that the sequins weren't too flashy and gave it almost a gunmetal, faux leather effect. I ended up sizing down because the size 2 dress looked like it was ready to be retired from the rental scene; it had a few small stains, sequins were falling off, dress was a little stretched out, etc. The most noticeable difference between the two sizes was around the arms; the smaller dress was tighter there, but overall a better fit! Would definitely rent this one again!

Gorgeous dress, but I was expecting it to run large based on other reviews I had read. Instead, I found the exact opposite -- my biceps did not fit in the sleeves! I do NOT have big arms by any means. Good thing I had also ordered the next size up.
