VERY thin
This dress is SUPER thin; not what I was expecting at all from the pattern. It's basically see through in some parts. You definitely need to wear nude undergarments. It's very cute, though. I would also say flattering but not forgiving given the fabric. The pattern does a little; it's not going to hide much, though. Still thought it was really cute and if you're feeling bloated you can pair with a jacket easily.

Amazing
I absolutely loved this skirt and got a ton of compliments. I wore it for July 4th weekend in the Hamptons and every single person I saw said something about the outfit. This with the matching collared top is just perfect for a summer outfit, whether you're playing some kind of sport with a racquet or not. Fair warning, it has athletic shorts underneath, but it's slightly see through. Would wear nude or white underwear with it.

I rented another Rabanne dress in a similar fabric a few months ago and it was one of the most flattering dresses I have rented, but this one was NOT it. the arms are insane - they're stretchy, but so small they're almost cutting off circulation on me. There are also weird pockets on the boobs which other reviewers mention and you can see if you look very closely in photos. Super strange dress. The only reason I'm not giving 1 star is because from the waist down it's a great fit and very flattering. It's not the thickest material in the world, so won't hold you in itself, but there's rouching in the waist to help hide imperfections.

Really cute dress; I got plenty of compliments on it. It was great for a wine class. However, it is EXTREMELY thin to the point of being completely transparent in places - you could read the text of the tag on the hip. Very odd. It's definitely stretchy and comfortable, at least.

Not what I was expecting
This was definitely not what I was expecting - it is a t-shirt material. I thought it was going to be a more structured cotton (perhaps similar to a button up material?). I'm not really sure how this is meant to be worn... the fabric is really heavy, which is strange considering I would have thought the main use would be a swim coverup. The arms were a bit tight, though they did fit. Overall, it was cute, but not sure it's really worth the rent unless you have an extra spot.

This is by far one of the worst rentals I have had... it was completely see through and sizing was way off (and, even if it had fit, it would have been unflattering with how it was cut). Maybe OK if you are very slender and don't have many curves, but it is such a drab dress I'm still not sure it's worth it to waste a rental. Don't waste your time!

HUGE and so stretched out
I really wanted to like this set - the top was very cute, but the skirt was absurdly stretched out and elastic wasn't working anymore. Every time I moved it got even larger. I rented a large and by the time I left work a couple of hours later the waist was stretched to over 40" (and I have a desk job!). Fortunately I was able to clip it with something I found at work but kept having to adjust it throughout the day because it was getting worse and worse. Sad.

OK, but not what I expected
This one was VERY large on me - and it wrinkled really easily. It was pretty thin as well, and definitely not the quality I expected at this price point. But, I loved the color, and the details along with the cut of the dress made it fun but still appropriate for a more conservative affair. Would definitely size down maybe one size (it doesn't stretch, so more than that probably wouldn't work).

Loved this one - so fun, and got tons of compliments when bar hopping. It was very large and tunic-like, so I wore it with some leggings, and it was generally just a very fun sweater to pull on. Very warm and thick, though not the softest material around, but it felt high quality for sure. I thought about buying it, but it had clearly been around the block a few times, so decided against it. I would definitely rent again if the right event came up, though!

Liked it a lot!
I liked this one quite a bit. I had been eyeing it for a while (it was on ads before it was actually released for renting), and was really excited when it finally became available. It fit me perfectly - a bit large, but the belt pulled in the waist. I got compliments on it and I loved the unique print. I would say I agree with some reviewers that it was a bit disappointing that the inside was white, which cheapened the look/feel of the dress and made it so you couldn't roll the sleeves much. Fortunately, I'm tall, so I didn't have an issue with the sleeve length. It was also a nice, medium weight and was easy to wear in the "winter" in LA without being cold.

Very cute, very flattering, very comfortable. Tons of compliments. I would note that it's a bit see through, but it wasn't so bad that I felt uncomfortable in it at an evening work event (with VERY flesh toned undergarments!). It's pretty thin so would not plan to wear this out at night without a jacket, except maybe in the summer, depending on where you live... but for sure give it a try. Really cute and a good length on tall girls especially.

A bit short, but loved them!
Loved these with the matching sweater top. Would absolutely not wear them separately - they were a bit snug around the hips to not have them covered - but the look together was such a vibe. They were also a little short on me, but I'm pretty tall and the slits made it so that you couldn't really tell. For sure rent them if you can get them as a set.

I love this designer so much. The logo is amazing (probably especially good during pride...). I got a lot of compliments on it. It's a statement piece for sure, and it was a little hard to figure out what sort of bra to wear since the top/shoulders are large, but I liked it a lot combined with the matching pants.

This is giving queer LA vibes all day. Very comfortable (it's stretchy fabric) and fit me well. The only reason I'm nto giving it 5 stars is that it's not all that high of quality - it has a plastic zipper (very odd at this price point, though it did seem sturdy enough) and the collar wasn't sitting properly/was a bit too small. The pocket placement was also slightly off and made my bum look a bit weird; I think they were too small for how high they were. But, a fun outfit for afternoon drinks, errands, or a brunch. Fair warning - it's definitely short if you are tall, but I think it is short enough that it looks intentional.

Just OK... I expected to like this a lot more than I did and ended up returning it earlier than I planned. I rented it for a plane outfit to and from a conference, but ended up just wearing a sweater dress on the ride back because I wasn't in love with this one. Surprisingly enjoyed
Liked this one a surprising amount. I thought about buying it because it was highly discounted, but decided to return it since it wasn't a complete showstopper. The arms were cool and the waist and overall cut were very flattering. The only issue I really had was that the neckline was a just a tad too large - throughout the day, I kept having to adjust my bra straps so they wouldn't show through. Odd for this cut of dress.

OK, wonderful, wonderful dress. I am obsessed with this designer. The slit was a really fun detail that I hadn't noticed as much before (it ended up being a bit high with a belt on, but I didn't mind since it's otherwise a very billowy dress). Several of my friends told me I should buy it, and I got compliments on it all day long. Super comfortable and would be easy to wear in pretty much any weather except extremely hot and muggy since it's lightweight but got a lining.

So cute, so comfy! Absolutely loved this one and got compliments on it all night. I am very hourglass shaped and the buttons stayed put and didn't make a scene, which I was a bit worried about, on both the top and bottom. Great quality and a nice mid-weight fabric. I wore this to dinner/drinks in Palm Springs in early May, and felt comfortable the entire time. I get hot easily, so it should say a lot that I was able to wear it without sweating in a range of ~60-90 degree weather.

Perfect fit! RTR sizing didn't think it would work for me, but I figured out sizing from reading reviews (and sized up a few from what I would have otherwise expected). It was perfectly fitted around my waist, but not painful to sit in or anything - I wore these for probably 8 hours, including through a large dinner, and they were comfy. The height of the waist was very flattering and emphasized my curves while hiding the lower belly a bit. Got compliments all night. For sure recommend!

This was absurdly sized - not sure if it had been shrunken, but no idea who it would fit other than someone with absolutely no curves (or if you got 2-3 sizes larger than your normal size). It might have just been because it didn't fit well, but the buttons were also strangely placed. The skirt was also barely below my butt, so about 18 inches shorter than what's shown on the model. Also just not great quality in general, so pretty disappointed.

This is probably my least favorite piece from this designer. I have loved a lot of the others, but this one fit on the larger side and just wasn't flattering on my body (which is a bit surprising since I am fully hourglass). On the one I got, at least, the top straps were pretty stretched out and a weird length, and then the dress didn't hug in at my waist at all. I ended up covering it up with a big, baggy jean jacket, but did get compliments all day on the bottom of it and the color. It's pretty comfortable, too.

Odd fit
Really strange fitting dress and material. The top part is boucle and heavier knit, with some small shoulder pads, and then the bottom is a very thin fabric that is see through (more for decoration than coverage). I usually love Sandro pieces, but this one was definitely cut for people with more of a straight body shape and very little curves. I could barely get it pulled down over my butt, and definitely couldn't zip it up at all. Way, way smaller than most of their pieces run on those fronts.

Not for anyone with curves at all - I got a size larger than RTR recommended for me just in case, and I could barely get this over my butt. It wouldn't zip up more than an inch or so and was comically short - probably not even an inch below my butt. The matching jacket fit really well, and I usually don't have this extreme of issues with this designer, so not sure what the deal is with this piece. Definitely not work appropriate, for sure, unless you have a fairly straight frame and/or are on the more petite side generally.

So, I wore this to a brunch and day drinks, and the fit was just kind of strange. Probably should have ironed it before since it was SO wrinkly but I decided to just go with it since I was running late... it definitely wrinkles easily so I'd keep that in mind when timing your routine/exit. The smocked waist was amazing as someone who is a true hourglass because so often my waist looks a lot larger than it is; clothes tend to get pushed out by my chest or bum. Not the case here! My waist was SNATCHED. It did fit pretty tightly around the waist but at the end of the day I realized if I was careful, I could actually shimmy it up and down to use the bathroom without unzipping, so it does have quite a bit of stretch there. The print was fine, nothing exceptional. The length was also REALLY short on me. It seemed like it had shrunk in the wash. I'm pretty tall with proportionally long legs, but it was so short that it seemed like a flood length. I think it was about 3" above my ankles (so short enough that it looked intentional, lol). I will also say it was a bit uncomfy by the end of the day and not quite as flattering. The straps are quite thin and my chest is quite large, so they were pulling a bit even though I thought the top covered enough generally so I didn't look indecent. The smocked waist was also riding up a bit so the really loose bottom half ended up emphasizing my bloated lower belly. But, was super cute while it lasted! :)

Pleasantly surprised
Though the color washed me out a bit, I was actually quite impressed with this dress. I've rented a few similar styles from the designer and they didn't fit as well. I guess the fabric is what made this cut work for me? Anyway, the fabric was a nice weight that made it breathable for summer but I think you'd be able to layer well during the fall and winter as well. It was structured and tailored to my figure without being too tight or restrictive. The ruffles were a nice fun, feminine touch without being overly girly or seeming juvenile. I'd say go ahead and rent if you're on the fence. It's quite a nice piece and was a total win for a day in the office.

Not what I expected
This was basically what it looks like on the model, but just not what I've come to expect from Black Halo. I love their pieces because they're a great fit for hourglass shapes without being too revealing, and their cuts are so complimentary to that sort of figure. This was alright through the body, but the psuedo-cap sleeves looked really off on me and made my arms look large. It also made my chest look weirdly small in comparison to the rest of my body. The color also didn't look as good on me as I was expecting. I thought it was going to be more of a warm, salmon color, but I think it was actually a bit more of a cool tone somehow. That ended up washing me out a bit. It's not a total skip, but if you have other options I'd go with those. It's still an OK choice for work, though, and sticks to the brand's high quality standards.

Love the color, weird fit
This ran extremely large compared to other dresses from this designer (and they're one of my favorites - I try to snatch up one of their pieces with almost every rental). I really loved the color and thought the style would be perfect for the event I was hoping to wear it at, which was a work evening welcome party for our summer interns. It was so large in the chest and had no adjustable straps, but I ended up wrapping the straps up around themselves and safety pinning them in a way that wasn't super noticeable. That helped quite a bit with the top and it ended up fitting well. I have never experienced something being loose in the chest as I am VERY large chested, so it was kind of a thrill but issue I'm not used to having to fix... It was also large around the waist so wasn't as flattering as I've become accustomed to, but I thought that was OK since it was a work event. I also thought the hips fit nicely/as expected for the designer, so that part might have ended up being tight if I tried to size down. The one weird thing that I didn't pick up on in the photos is that only one side has that cute little slit. I'm not sure why since it's not really that noticeable, plus the dress is a pretty conservative, long length, so it's not like it would be way too risque if it was on both sides. When people noticed the open area under the side buttons/slit/whatever you'd call it, they thought it was great, but then agreed it was pretty strange it wasn't on the other side as well! Anyway, I'd still rent it but probably size down as long as you're comfortable showing your body and don't have any potential concerns with it being too tight around the hips. It's lined so doesn't seem to show a lot of lumps or anything like that. If you prefer a more conservative look, just be prepared to get creative with the straps regardless of chest size.

It fit perfectly and I got a ton of compliments. I wore it to a work evening event and it was fun and classy, plus highlighted my hourglass shape without being inappropriate. It doesn't have a ton of stretch, typical for Black Halo garments, but I found it was just right. It also wasn't crazy tight around the hips so I wasn't worried about it busting open or something. I'd also say that the top is great even if you are very busty. Some Black Halo things run tight in the chest in my view, but this one has more room to give since it's open in the front. But, there wasn't any risk of a nip-slip given the construction. The only thing I didn't like so much was the zipper on the front. It was weirdly tiny in comparison to the rise. Fortunately, the tie on the front covered that up enough that you couldn't tell once it was on. I'm actually considering buying this despite the cost (and fact that I don't really have anywhere to wear it since it's a bit much for the actual office...). I just loved it that much!! Highly recommend the rental for curvy girls in particular, even if you're tall since it's more of a flood length that I think would look good regardless of height.

This fabric was SO strange. It was satin or something and really shiny, which I didn't expect at all from the photos. I also couldn't even remotely get it across my chest, despite having a breast reduction... honestly, it barely fit over my shoulders, but then when I tried to get it over my chest it basically went over my nipples but would've needed inches more to actually close and not have a risk of ripping open at some random point during the day.

This dress was a LOT thicker material than expected, especially since the color really lends itself to a spring or summer wear. It was thick enough that I absolutely could have worn it during the winter without being cold. The positives are the color, which I found complimented my skin tone, that it seems pretty high quality, and wasn't see through. The negatives far outweigh the positives, though, in my opinion. There was honestly just way too much fabric here, and I'm tall! The skirt didn't hang very well on me and it made me look very square/boxy despite having a true hourglass shape and the dress itself having some interesting lines on the model. Might work if you are more of a straight and narrow body type. It was also weirdly structured such that it was extraordinarily uncomfortable to wear, especially if you had to bend over or sit at all. I ended up leaving work early because I just felt like such a stuffed sausage and it was compressing weird places when I sat down. Really can't figure out how that happened considering there is so much extra fabric on this! You'd think that it would be looser around the waist, but instead it's just a tight underlayer with no give at all and a huge overlay. It had so little give that it was actually hard to get into my car; that should've been my first clue. The top also squeezed my chest together and gave me very noticeable fat in that annoying area between arms and bust given the cut of the top. I will say I got compliments on it, but I was so uncomfortable that my response every time was something along the lines of "thanks! I hate it, I can't breathe/move!" instead of my usual "thanks! I got it on sale/RTR!" If you're also someone who always mentions a sale or pockets, you'll know how dire the situation was for me to not say that. Lol.

An awful joke...
This was truly comical. I had read the reviews and was hoping if I just got the right size, it would work. Nope. I literally returned it the same day because I was traveling and didn't want to waste space in my bag (had brought an extra RTR bag with me, fortunately!). I definitely sized up a size or two because I was hoping that could combat the issues some other reviewers flagged. No. The sleeves were still weirdly tight and the dress was SHORT. Like barely covered the bottoms of my buttchecks. I'm tall, but I have a very short torso comparatively (I can sometimes even wear petite tops). I can't imagine what this would look like on someone who is tall with normal proportions. It was also a sort of stretchy material, so sizing up did nothing for it. The belt and dress were both super wrinkly, too, so you need to be prepared if this does somehow fit you. I also found the belt to be a weird width; it might have helped out with the boxiness issue if it was a bit wider (or longer), but instead it just somehow made the dress look even sloppier when tied!

Basic work dress
This was a bit looser than the other dresses I've rented from this designer, but just about the same level of quality and fit pretty well. I did like that it had more room to move since it has sleeves on it. It's comfortable enough for all day wear at work. The material wasn't all that thick, so I could still wear it during the summer. I'd also note that the style is a bit odd in that the sleeves are actually just attached to the top part of the dress, so it's more of a cape with sleeves. Sort of hard to describe but I will say that it made the dress really easy to move around in. You can't see it unless you lift your arms up, but basically it's a sleeveless/tank dress and then the "cape" part so your armpits are actually not covered directly by fabric. I think that helps keep you cool in the summer and, again, makes it easier to move around in generally. Some other dresses are nearly impossible to move in since the arms make the chest so tight. Overall, it's a nice little dress for a random workday, and I think it'd compliment most body types given the color and cut. It's nothing to write home about and probably won't be a compliment magnet unless you dress it up a lot, but I found it perfectly professional and nice.
