I wore this dress to a formal military event. It was more form fitting than I expected but there was some really nice structure to the top so you could get away without wearing a bra. I put that it fit true to size because I think it probably does. It was snug on me but I have been putting on some weight so I think it was likely due to that instead. I probably should have gone with a 12L as a backup. I had hoped it would be a little longer, but at 5'10" with 4 inch heels it still nearly brushed the floor so I have to complaints. This dress was definitely more periwinkle blue than it was lavender but was still a flattering color.
