Really comfortable!
I rented this for a reception held by a group of lawyers my husband works with. And this is a great dress. It is easy to wear, it's fairly flattering, it's pretty. However, it doesn't look quite as green as it does in the photo and I felt it looked a little sickly on me, with my olive-skin undertones and dark hair laced with red highlights. Those with similar Italian/Mediterranean tones take note. Blondes and English roses, this is your rental. It's an excellent rental if you want something that's a little bit dressy and pretty, without being or feeling like you're too dressed up, so great for a dinner date or something similar. I would not use it for an upscale cocktail party, because I'm not sure there's enough pizzazz for something like that, but it's a lovely dress. I did think it was a bit tight in the bust, possibly overaccenting that virtue of mine, but it wasn't enough to make me self-conscious. I loved the length, it fit really well through my curvy hips and it was so comfy, I honestly wish it came in a different color so I could rent it again.

Great statement piece
I ended up not using this because I didn't go to the event where I'd wanted to wear it. BUT, I rented it to pair with my very favorite Nicole Miller Star Bright Bracelet and the two together are fantastic. I am small, so I had to hook this on the very last link, otherwise I think it would've hung too low on my upper body. It's awfully pretty, though and I would definitely recommend and rent again.

I thought it would be different somehow
It's rare that I have a disappointing RTR experience, but I honestly didn't like this bag very much. The photos look wonderful and it certainly did coordinate well with my outfit, but I felt the big jewel accent looked fake and cheap, and the snakeskin just didn't do it for me in real life, the way it did in the photos. Also, I have this idea that I could use this as a clutch, because it looks like you can keep the gold chain (which is a little heavy, fyi) inside the bag, as shown in the photo. But, it turned out that I kept spending the evening opening the bag and dragging the chain all the way inside. It's certainly pretty and I have no doubt anyone who likes all those attributes will love it, and it would be fabulous with something gold or white or even really dark, like black or purple, because it will stand out. It just wasn't for me.

Fabulous rental
I rented these earrings to coordinate with the Ali Rio Scoop Dress. As you can see in the photo, it was a perfect match. I really loved these, although they got a little heavy as they evening wore on. But they are the perfect blend of casual but a little dressy, and I they would work beautifully not only with this dress but with something that was a light or bright blue. Wearing them, you almost don't need anything else, which is why I didn't wear a necklace, because they are such a cool statement piece. But, if you wanted to, look for a ring that plays up the sparkle of the rhinestones around the edges. That would look great.

Feminine and elegant
While I found this dress to be a tiny bit small in the bust, it's positively perfect! The material feels well-made and like you're wearing something special. I opted not to wear the belt that came with it, because I didn't think it added anything at all, and I didn't really like it. But, on its own, the dress is just a stunner. The groom at the wedding I wore this to even said to me when I came up to him, "I didn't even recognize you; you look fantastic." So, it's a pretty transforming piece of clothing. It will fit really well on pear-shaped people like me, and being small, it's a terrific length for little people, without feeling dowdy. The bust was a bit tight, so those with curve up top may want to read the reviews and take note of their measurements carefully. But it fit great in the waist and through the hips. You can wear it with a regular, nudge colored bra, although I opted for a strapless. It's a beautiful coral color, that will work well for spring and summer outdoor events, but I'd also recommend it on one of those Indian Summer falls days, too. I paired it with the Kenneth Lane earrings, which were also a terrific rental, and the Bagley Mischka gold snake clutch. This was a fantastic rental and I would absolutely rent it again.

Not a Good Choice
I really should have paid much more attention to the other reviewers, who discussed the ill-fitting top of this dress. I'm posting photos of my experience with it so that others can get a clearer idea of the issues they might have. My measurements currently are 34-34-44, and from reading what other people had to say, I rented a 12 and 14 in this dress for a wedding this weekend. The 14 was far too large (reviews are correct...the dress runs a bit big). The 12 fit ok, but the top is just ... off. From the front, it looks fine (see photo), but nothing I tried to do, with fabric tape or with safety pins was going to fix the top from gaping and looking slopping and baggy. The criss-cross on the top is very deep, running down to my waistline. As a short-waisted person, this isn't a good look. The bottom was just about perfect. I love the pattern and the feel of the material, but it's absolutely wrong for my body type. Other short, curvy, pear shapes beware. Anyone taller and leaner, this is probably perfect for you. Luckily, I did also rent a second dress--which works perfectly. Reviews to follow after the wedding this weekend. (Also, FYI: RTR considers the rental a success if at least ONE item fits, so I was not eligible for a partial credit on my ill-fitting Trina Turk. I'm totally cool with this, so there are no sour grapes in this review at all. Again, other curvy pear shapes may want to take a similar precaution.) Really wish this would've worked. It's such a pretty dress!

Fun and Easy to Wear
I picked this dress to wear out for my birthday; I needed something cute, but not crazy dressy -- and this dress delivers. I LOVED the pockets and the little peep-hole stictching. It's cotten, whic is perfect for Houston's warm spring weather. it's extremely flattering, fitted at the bust and waist, with a great flare to the skirt. We were heading to a tiki bar, so it was the perfect backdrop for the silk hair flowers and the funny hula girl cotton purse. What I did not love was that the dress runs a little small. Usually, I wear a 12, and the 12 in this dress was pretty tight. The 14, which I wore, had a little more give, but there was still some constraint in the bust. It's able to be worn with a regular bra, which is excellent, and the bold primary color makes it a terrific canvas for all sorts of dress up or more casual looks. I really recommend it, but fuller-busted women beware...you'll likely need a larger size than you think.

Holy Sparkles, Batman!
I really enjoyed this fun and flirty dress although, since I wore it for New Year's Eve, there were multiple good-natured jokes made about how I looked like the Times Square ball. It is very, very...shiny. Possibly reflective. :o) What I loved, though, is that it's not tacky, the way a lot of sequins can look. Plus, there are flecks of black in the sequins (you can't quite see that in the RTR photo) amid the silver, copper and gold, I uploaded two photos to offer two ways you can wear this. I DID NOT wear the black crinoline look, although I adored the way the crinoline brought out the black and gave it a ladylike, retro 1950s flare. Had we been going anywhere old school, I'd have done this in a minute, if only to wear the crinoline from my wedding again. I DID wear it without the crinoline, with copper peep-toe shoes, which set off the exposed back zipper nicely. (Tiara courtesy of RTR for NYE). I also wore the Nicole Miller Star Light Bracelet with it (a personal accessory rental favorite of mine, rented so often I ought to ask for a rent-to-own agreement...the bracelet is perfect for nearly anything, fyi) The dress was a trifle small in the bust. If I raised my arms too high above my head, you could see a bit of the side of my bra. That small detail aside, this is a tremendously fun dress. It's very easy to wear and quite comfortable. The waist and bust lines are flattering and I love the flare in the hips, wonderful for any pear-shaped gals. One small nitpick: there was a sequin just under the left arm pit of the dress that was stuck into the seam, with a sharp exposed edge. I had no way to clip it off and it kept digging into my arm all night. I wound up with a scratch, which was no fun. Otherwise, I felt very pretty, received several compliments, and would recommend this highly.

Cute Take on the LBD
I wore this to a Christmas cocktail party and I loved the becoming neckline and bow at the waist. Milly designs are always fun and feminine adn this is no exception. I thought the material was a little heavy and the almost crochet look and feel to the skirt made it seem like it might look old and frumpy on. So far from the truth! It's youthful and becoming on my middle-age pear shape. Milly styles are also slightly small, so this did feel a trifle little in the bust and wasit, but not enough to be uncomfortable. Renters, pay particular attention to the reviews and your own measurements. If I were just a few inches larger, this dress wuold never have fit. I loved the length on my short frame and it was super pretty and comfortable. Highly recommend!

Possibly the best fit I've ever had with RTR! This dress was gorgeous and Ioved the drape and weight of the fabric. It created stunning lines and I felt so lovely in it. I wore it with a strapless bra and no shaper; it fit like a dream along my curves and hit in great spots on my short frame. Absolutely highly recommend!

Not the right look for me
I ought to have posted a picture to allow you to see how well this didn't work on my pear-shaped, short frame. But, well, vanity being what it is, I just...couldn't. This is a beautiful dress. It is well made -- although the material IS heavy, as many posters have commented. The issue for me was the pattern. If you are slim and slender, this dress is your friend. If you are like me -- short-waisted, wide hips, generous bust -- not so much. The pattern looked like a topographical map on my body, and I was crushed because I liked the dress so much. The length was great on me, and the skirt flares nicely over the hips. I ended up not wearing the dress at all.

Rich color and Pattern
Rent the Runway recommended this dress for me, and I had had it saved as a favorite. First off, the photos on the website make it look wine colored. It is SO NOT. It's almost magenta, which is not a color I would typically wear, ever. The cut of the dress is quite flattering, although the darts at the front of it make the middle poof out a bit like the prow of a ship. Or maybe that's my body. It's an interesting effect. I loved the slash pockets, I think the length is terrific for shorter girls like me and I love the deep neckline. I wore a 10 with a shaper underneath and a black silk pashmina. It's a wonderful altenative to the Little Black Dress and would be woderful for winter parties. The magenta and black pattern is beautiful, rich and detailed, and the fabric isn't terribly heavy and drapes fashionably.

Cute, cute, cute dress
I wore this dress for my 41st birthday dinner at Trader Vic's in Atlanta, and I picked it because the bright tropical flowers would be fun against Trader Vic's Polynesian/Tiki-themed decor. I rented sizes 10 and 12, and wound up wearing the 10. "It's short," my husband said to me. Yes, it is short. I loved the dress, but it is short. I also found it somewhat on the small side. I'm pear-shaped and don't think of myself as big-busted, but the 10 was a trifle tight. I wore it and not the 12 because the pleated skirt on the 12 was just way too poofy. It's a lovely dress, able to be worn with a regular bra, which I love, and the pockets are perfect for my cell phone and tissues or whatever. I'm not sure I'd rent it again, but I did love it, despite it feeling a tiny bit tight in the bust and waist and being short. It's got beautiful colors and was absolutely perfect for the occasion.

Beautiful Dress
I loved everythig about this dress, which I rented for Easter Mass and dinner with friends and family afterward. It's a lovely color, but fair warning to fair-skinned renters: this mustard color is probably not for you, as it may be overwhelming and wash you out. It's very warm and rich, almost more late summer and fall than spring. The fit's quite flattering, especially the asymmetrical piping in the waist and hips. The neckline is quite becoming and I loved the little sleeves; someone else posted something about "just enough modesty for church" or something and I agree. What I did NOT particularly like is that I find the dress a bit "fussy." As in a fuss to get in and out of, between the little slip underlining (flattering through the lace and beautiful) and the three hook and eye closures in the back. I was able to do the top one myself, after much twisting and turning, but I had to have my friend hook the last two. As a general rule, I don't buy things that need more than one person to dress me, but I didn't know about this when I rented the dress. Not a deal breaker, but something to be aware of. You might need a little help. You can wear it with a regular bra, though, which Ioved. (And not that you would not already know to do this, but you want skin-toned or neutral underthings under this. When the dress arrived, I tried it on and happened to be wearing pink underthings. Showed right through. ) It's a terrific length on my short frame and it fit pretty well everywhere, although it did feel a trifle tight across the hips. The skirt flares out a little bit; the slip underneath is fairly fitted. I found this gapped a tiny bit in the back through the shoulders. But that's not the dress; that's because I'm short and short-waisted. Received many many compliments; easily wearable with the cream-colored peep toe heels I wore, but you could do basic black, brown or natural shades. Overall, an excellent rental.

Stunning. But HUGE!
This was about as close as I've ever come to a Rent the Runway distaster. I rented the 10 and the 12, even as I kept reading reviews about how big this dress was. (I did so because I've been losing weight, but I haven't really lost enough to break out of the 10-12 size range yet) Both were quite large on me. RTR was EXCELLENT though, in sending off a size 8 to me -- at no charge -- because they couldn't get it to me within a 24-hour turnaround. The 8 arrived the day of the event (I wore this to an opera) and RTR pushed UPS to deliver it in the morning. And the 8 was...a little small. It fit perfectly up top and through the waist, but was a trifle tighter than I'd have liked through my hips. IN fact, it would've been ok, but I didn't like the way it cupped my bottom, so it was about my personal comfort zone and not some bad thing with the dress. So I wore the 10, pinning the shoulder straps and feeling like I was a lovely pregnant woman. Because this dress is huge. The dress itself is gorgeous, with all that red and gold. I found the fabric was a little scratchy, and the dress had a couple of pulls here and there, probably because the fabric is thin and there's a ton of threading detail on this. If you're going to rent this, go smaller in size.

Simple. Elegant. Perfect!
I wore this dress to the grand opening of the cigar shop my husband manages, which is why I wore it very simply, without a lot of added fuss or bling. I rented the 10 and the 12, and the 12 fit so well I didn't even bother trying on the 10 -- too bad, because the 10, with its trifle more pinched bodice, would've worked equally well, if not better. This dress runs very true to size, I think, and it's incredibly flattering. I was a little wary of the pleats and the pockets at first, but it's really comfortable and easy to wear. And I like that you can wear a regular bra under it. I also wore a pair of SPANX, but the lines are so figure-flattering, you could skip that if you wanted. I did have to tape up the lining with masking tape, though, because every time I sat down, the lining peeked out from under the hem. But I love the fit and the flattering lines. The fabric feels rich without being heavy and looks even better in person than online. I received compliments all night long. RTR sent me some "Mystery Bling," truly lovely Kate Crystal earrings. They were great adn I loved them, but they were far too dressy for this occasion, so I left them behind. I would so completely and totally wear this dress again.

Lovely Dress!
This is a rich, wine-colored dress, very simple and very elegant. Emphasis on the simple, so the reviewers noting you should bling it up are right. I wore it to an engagement party (there I am, pictured with the Bride-to-be, who also wore a RTR dress), where I was serving as co-host. I spent most of the night with an apron over this, so I didn't mind the plainness of the dress. Otheres will want dressier earrings or jewelry to liven it up. The color is stunning and I liked the cut. It's quite fitted at the top, though and I found it to be somewhat small around the lower bust and mid-section. The overall fit is beautiful, though and, being short, I liked the length quite a lot. This is a great after-work drinks or date dress, it's easy and comfortable to wear. I didn't wear SPANX or anything underneath because the midsection was so fitted and fabric so thin you'd see the outline of the waistband. But, no matter. I think the fit is pretty flattering all the same and covers a multitude of sins for us pear shapes. I did find the sizing slightly small, however. I usually wear between a 10-12 and lately I've been wearing more 10s. The 10 I rented was almost too tight, and the 12 I wore still didn't give me as much give as I'd normally like. But the effect was great and it wore like a dream all night.

I rented this for a grand opening party that wound up being pushed back, so I didn't get to wear it out after all. I loved the fit of the size 12. It was comfortable throughout and this is a stunning style. But, wow, oh, wow is it short. I'm a little under 5'1" and it felt super short on me. I think if you've got legs you want to show off or you're not worried too much about how far you bend over, this is perfect dress in every way. So, while I really thought it was great, I'm not entirely sure I'd rent it again.

Stunning, head-turning dredss!
I selected this as my "alternate" dress for an industry party. And I loved the fit of it much more than I liked the dress I actually wound up wearing. My only issue was that the boatneck on this dress was slightly too big for my small frame, and there is a distracting bow on the back of the dress that sat right at the end of my spine, right where my bottom begins. Far too much attention drawn to a section of my body I don't need attention drawn to! But I've been slimming down lately and will definitely rent this dress again -- in a different size. It was positively beautiful: feminine, flitty, lovely colors. Anyone who knows me knows I hate pinks, so the fact that I love this dress says a lot. Great rental!

The color is much more mustard than true yellow, which was a bit disconcerting, but turned out to be just fine. The skirt can easily handle a crinoline under it, for anyone looking to punch up a '50s vibe. I loved that this was cotton, which made it perfect for the sultry Houston night on which I wore it. LOVE THIS DRESS
I rented this for my 40th birthday; my husband and I were having dinner at a little French bistro we like that's owned by some friends. I rented the size 10 and 12 (I am small in stature, but I'm pear shaped with wide-ish hips). The 12 fit like a charm and showed off my figure beautifully. I'm also short, and this a little below my knee. I wore it with peep-toe black platform 4" heels and it was spectacular: comfortable and pretty. One thing to note: on the website, this dress looks like it has yellow in it, which was one of the things that attracted me to it (my fave color). It's not yellow--it's actually a bright limey-chartruse green. Which was perfectly cool with me, since I love that color, too. Would definitely recommend and rent again.

Great Dress!
This is the second time I've rented this dress. The first time I wore it, back in 2010, I wore this to a press party at an upscale fashion boutique, and felt like I fit right in. I rented the 10 and the 12 then, and wore the 10. The second time I rented it, in September 2013, I again rented the 10 and the 12 and wore the 12. Someone posted something about it not being a great dress for full-busted women adn I tend to think that's accurate. I felt like I was displaying my bust most of the night, which was a little odd. I am short, short-waisted and pear shaped, so the length on this and the full skirt was fantastic. It's also tremendously comfortable and light cotton, terrific for 90-degree-plus days in Houston's never-ending summers. The straps had a tendency to constantly fall off my shoulders, which I hated, but I'm sure that may have been fixed with safety pins, which I didn't have. I say it runs a little small because it's a pretty tight fit for a 12, but beautiful. Loved the print and the little bow detail on the bodice. Absolutely recommend this!

This dress was my "runner up" for my 20th high school reunion. While I ended up wearing another dress to the event, I bookmarked this for a future rental. It fit beautifully ( I rented the 12 and 10 and liked the fit on the 10) and wore easily across my hips (always a problem spot for me). The only reason it lost out to the other outfit? I was in Rhode Island, it was November, I was cold and the other dress had sleeves! But this one's a keeper. It looks lovely up in the bodice, the straps didn't fall off my shoulders (another problem I always have) and it's both becoming and classic. I highly recommend it.
