Nice, but ...
This is a very pretty dress, BUT ... if I had read the reviews more closely, I wouldn't have rented it. I barely fit into the L (there is no XL) and I normally wear a 10. It was super-tight around the rib cage. Good news was I couldn't eat much. :-) Also, although the fabric is wonderfully soft and almost pajama-like in comfort, it's super wrinkly. I was afraid to press it because the fabric seemed so delicate, so I just wore it as is, believing that the pattern would (mostly) hide the wrinkles.

Absolutely perfect
This may be the best dress I've ever rented from RTR in terms of fit and comfort. It fit like a glove, yet it was still extremely comfortable. Must be the stretchy fabric! It's also quite beautiful, though not in the "formal event" category, and very distinctive, making it perfect for a rental rather than a dress to own.

Perfect
My husband thinks this is the best dress I have ever rented from RTR. It's quietly pretty and very easy to wear. The length was just right for me. It's black and yet not (I'm definitely tired of black!). I agree with others that the sleeves are a little tight, but I found that after a very little while, I didn't notice anymore. I wouldn't size down, however, not if you're a C cup or larger.

Not for me
I know some 800 reviews liked this dress a lot, but it wasn't for me. Issues: 1) WAY, WAY too low-cut; 2) even though the mirror showed that it hung OK, I kept feeling like something was caught somewhere with all that fabric bunched in the front; and 3) as everyone else has said, without a second person, there was no way I was getting this zipper zipped. But what kept me from wearing it was the top of this dress. I realize I am nowhere close in age to the average RTR customer, but I felt almost naked up top. Good thing to learn moving forward with other choices!

Exactly what I needed
This is not an exciting dress, but it's lovely nonetheless. The color is gorgeous. The fabric is soft to the touch and cozy for fall weather. As others have said, the lace slip that peeks out from under the skirt when you sit is a charming effect. My normal size fit very comfortably through the bust, midsection (important when you're going to Thanksgiving dinner!), and hips. The only negative about this dress - and the main reason I wore the larger size - is the structure of the sleeves. I think it's called a Dolman sleeve, but in any event, the way it's cut meant that I could not comfortably raise my arms in my normal size. For me, an additional factor was that the length was better with the larger size. Others might not mind.

best dress ever!
Of all the dresses I have ever rented from RTR, this one was the best!! I loved it so much that I wore it again to a casual get-together the next day. I couldn't bear to send it back without wearing it as much as possible! It's much more beautiful than you can tell from the photo. The fabric is like satin and the black stripes are sewn-on satin ribbons. In fact, the fabric reminded me of wedding gown fabric. And it fit me perfectly and comfortably: length to the knee, giving me a waist but allowing me to breathe, creating an hourglass where I don't have one. Loved it, loved it, loved it!! There is nothing more to say. Oh, yeah, my husband loved it, too!

Perfect comfort
Both the 8 and the 10 fit, but I wore the 10 because it was more comfortable through the midriff. I don't like to feel like I can't eat at a party! The fabric was soft and lovely, the length perfect, the color and the print wonderful, and ... pockets, too! I would definitely rent this dress again.

Just perfect
This might be the best dress I have ever rented from RTR - definitely my husband thought so! The color is gorgeous, the fit was perfect, AND it was comfortable! I added a turquoise-pearl-silver bead necklace and silver bead earrings. The only negative I can say is that the hem has some kind of stiff material in it and it was a little bent out of shape when the dress arrived. But once I put it on and went about the day, I don't think anyone could tell, including me.

Perfect
I loved this dress! It fit comfortably (I passed up the smaller size in favor of breathing and eating at the wedding!). It was elegant, sophisticated, and different from anything else I saw among the guests. I wore diamond earrings and a gold bracelet with it, which was all the accessorizing it needed, in my opinion. The only negative - and a very minor one - was that it was extremely difficult to find the hook and eye closure. My husband did it for me 4 times before he actually got it hooked.

This dress is absolutely gorgeous. Random strangers complimented me on it! It's also extremely comfortable - so gorgeous and comfortable that I wore it two days in a row, once to a casual dinner (with flats and colorful jewelry) and once to a fancy dinner (with heels and diamond earrings). BUT I did not feel gorgeous in it because, as others have said, the fit is strange (hence the 4 stars). I agree that it is designed for someone taller - or at least longer-waisted - and maybe for a pear shape. It fit me in the bust, but was way too big in the hips. And I just swam in the 12, the "size up" recommended for back-up. I had a complicated relationship with this dress!

absolutely lovely
The dress is beautiful, though the color is a little more subdued than I expected. The fit was perfect, and the fabric is extremely soft and comfortable. Unfortunately for me, it was freezing at the outdoor wedding we attended and I had to cover up this lovely dress with a (luckily matching) bright blue wool jacket for almost the entire event. Bummer!

a work of art
This is a beautiful art design, but I don't know that it's a dress to wear unless you happen to be the right size and shape. Because it is so stiff, nothing lies flat. The hips were too big and just stuck out. The armholes were too big and just stuck out. Maybe if I could have this dress altered to fit me, but otherwise, it just didn't look good. Great on the hanger, though!

This is a beautiful dress, just beautiful. However, it wasn't the best design for my shape. It is VERY tight through the midriff, which is my problem area. I didn't end up wearing it because I wanted to be able to breathe!

This is a beautiful dress, much prettier than in the picture. The key, I think, is the fabric's texture. It fit well and was very comfortable. It was also very light, which normally wouldn't mean much to me, but the other two dresses I rented were extremely heavy, so this felt heavenly. All together a lovely dress I would wear again.

The dress is very comfortable and fit fine (other women might have gone with the smaller size, but it was a little too snug for my taste). It's a beautiful color. I probably just chose the wrong dress for the occasion. It was a little too "mother-of-the-bride" for me. Nothing bad, just more so-so than I'm used to with my rentals.

perfect for the occasion
This is my 5th RTR rental and I think this is my favorite so far. I wore it to dinner and a folk music concert on my birthday. It just felt right from the minute I put it on. It's a very "happy" color, so pretty, extremely comfortable, and less formal than other dresses I've rented. I even got a compliment from a random woman in the ladies' room! Since it has kind of an ethnic feel, I wore it with Yemenite filigree jewelry.

great color and comfort
The only negative to this dress is that it wrinkles easily. It was a little wrinkled when it came and I didn't want to risk harming it by ironing it, so I just wore it as is. After a day of sitting at the opera and then dinner, it was quite wrinkled, not just in the back, but across the midriff, too. Otherwise, it felt great, it looked great, and I loved the pockets. (Although it looks orange in my picture, it is really pink, though a little more subdued than I had expected from the on-line photo.)

This was my first rental and I felt like a million bucks in this dress! It is really beautiful and feels very expensive. Although others have found it itchy, I did not. My normal size 10 was a little more snug through the waist than I would usually choose, but my husband found the fit very flattering and, in the end, I found it perfectly comfortable for the evening. Although the dress did not arrive at my home on the day it was supposed to, RTR saved the day by overnighting it to the hotel where I arrived the next day. I danced the night away at a family wedding and couldn't have been happier. I will definitely rent again. Thanks, RTR!

In the end, the dress was great: both beautiful and comfortable. I wore the smaller size dress with the belt of the larger size because the second belt I got was of a different size entirely AND broken. I used fashion tape to keep the front together, but I am particularly sensitive about showing cleavage. The length was fine, even at my age. :-)
