This dress was a bit small in the chest area for me. I usually wear 2 in shift style dresses, like this one is at the top, but the 2P may have been just slightly too small for me. Still, I absolutely loved wearing this dress and received many compliments. Even the bride told me multiple times how much she loved my dress. It made me feel sexy because of the shorter length, yet without feeling like i was trying to be. I was able to dance and walk up and down the stairs freely. (Because the long sheer layer is only at the back, it usually flows back and away from the ground as you move, so you don't need to worry about holding it or stepping on it.) The dress flows so beautifully when you walk. I only wore 2 1/2 inch heels and it worked out just right. It was perfect for a summer wedding.

As a big fan of herve levger, I was excited to try this one with the flared bottom. The dress is VERY figure flattering, and very easy to move it. I was even able to eat a good dinner without feeling like my gut was showing. I wore this with a regular bra, with the back strap pulled down before I zippered it. Because the dress fits tightly, the back of the bra didn't rise up. Even though the color was very bright and really popped on a summer day, I would not rent this again because the chest area was VERY STRETCHED OUT. I was constantly checking and pulling the top of the dress up. It made me self conscious about exposing more than i wanted too.

The dress fit slightly small, except for the length, which was a bit longer in the back than what i would have preferred. I could have pinned it up, but my boyfriend said i looked so great as it was, so didn't bother with it. Still, I had to wear 4 inch heels to make it look right. I was afraid of the skirt unhooking so i used a safety pin for good measure. The waist was very tight, but when i tried on the 10, the chest and shoulders were too big. I wore this to a wedding where I was told the attire was "formal but not that formal." This was perfect, because the short dress illusion made it feel less formal, despite the formal black color. It was very easy to dance in too. I loved how different this dress was from everyone else's. The only thing to be weary of is the mesh part of the skirt. The stiff nature of the material makes it easy to be bent and creased. The end of my skirt was curling out. I made it less noticeable by rolling it inward before putting the dress on.

I had a stylist pick this out from me from the back at the flatiron store, but even if it was hanging in the showroom, I probably wouldn't have tried it. I didn't care for it when i saw it online at first because the skirt is on the long side and I like shorter skirts. I fixed this by just wearing it slightly to the side, having the longer part of the skirt be by my back/side, and the shorter part of the skirt at the front. The skirt was pressed weirdly though, and the longer end of the skirt stuck out in an odd way. Even still, this skirt deserves 5 stars. Runs small and fits tight at the waist, but it is very easy to move in and I didn't have to worry about it flipping up. Got so many compliments, especially with the BRIGHT yellow, which will make you stand out. Pricey skirt but the unique cut, detail. and color make it worth it. I wish I owned it!

I wore this with the matching skirt, and everyone told me how great i looked. Because I am petite, the top wasn't much of a crop top on me, but rather hit just at the top of the skirt. I liked it even better that way. THe fit was slightly small and tight, even with the stretch. The material is a bit on the thicker side so it could get hot in the summer heat, but overall LOVED the outfit and would want to rent again. I like my dresses to hit mid thigh, as it is on the model. Because I'm petite, I needed to buy fashion tape and hem the dress up about a couple of inches. It wasn't a big deal and my bf thought I looked great. However, it is VERY TIGHT and after dinner, makes me aware of my stomach bulge. The fabric and print of the dress does hide it fairly well though. For super tight dresses, I still prefer herve leger though.

I love the different pleating this dress has at the front. It forms a slit in the middle to show just a bit more leg as you walk. This dress was new with a tag when i rented it, but the zipper was still tricky to get up and down. It is VERY fitted in the chest and waist. I felt it was slightly too tight on my chest especially. The black and blue design is unique, chic and modern. Has scribbles and doodles of last names and shapes. My bf kept telling me throughout our date that i looked so good in the dress, which accentuates a narrow waist and hides hips/thighs.

I ordered this weeks in advance for a wedding. When it arrived, I noticed the inner white lining was hanging further down than the outer fabric. I tried it on, and indeed the lining was long both at the front and back side. Despite the customer service rep's efforts for over an hour while i was on the road to find replacement dresses, I had to wear this because the substitute dresses did not fit right and all the other choices were unavailable. I must thank Kelly still for all her help and effort. With that said, I still received MANY compliments on this dress. Someone even said my dress was the best that night. I had to wear 4 1/2 inch heels so that the dress would go just about to the ground. The chest area was very roomy and the cut is very deep. I safety pinned it, and because it was double layered and had draping, it was impossible to see the pin. The cut of this dress is VERY flattering, and you can EAT without any consequences on the day of your event because the bottom half is very flowy. (So you won't notice the food/drinks bulge.) This dress is very comfortable to dance the night away, but be sure to hold it up when going up stairs. The colors and print move so beautifully and the dress truly made me feel gorgeous. However, I can't give it a full 5 stars, because I did have to use MANY MANY pins to "hem" the inner lining, as well as LOTS of fashion tape to fix it in the front and back.

The dress has a lot of stretch. I was hesitant about the gathering of fabric at the front, because a lot of times, it makes me look like I have a big gut, especially from a side profile. But the dress was very slimming. I contemplated between the xs and s for a while, trying the on multiple times, but in the end, I chose the xs because the chest area fit better. This dress is cut deep and the chest area fit large. For smaller chested girls, I would beware about their bras showing. My boyfriends loved the dress, and although the sequins werent very sparkly, it still added enough shimmer. It's a very understated chic dress. The only issue I had was at the back in the butt region. Both the xs and s made a lump where the zipper ended on the inside of the dress. This made my butt look funny. It was more noticeable in the s. With the xs, I was able to adjust it. I have a good sized butt, so I don't know if this dress was meant for someone with a flatter rear, but overall, it wasn't too bad.

The fit was slightly large. I usually wear a four but the 2 fit perfectly. the tulle on inside part of the dress was ripped at several places, but it was unnoticeable. I separated the different layers of tulle to get some more volume, thereby making the dress slightly shorter. The dress is so figure flattering. I didnt need to wear spanx and I was able to eat as much as I pleased without having my gut show. The color is even more beautiful in person. The only downside was that the lace on the neckline was not pressed stiff, so it was a little floppy and tucked inside on some areas. I would definitely rent this again.

Like the other reviewers have mentioned, the material had fraying all over the dress from general wear over the many times it's been worn. I had to trim the loose threads before wearing. Wore a regular bra, but bc the bra clips were broken, I had to adjusted my bra by moving the strap over to the sides, which was possible bc it was a multi way bra. Both the 2 and 4 fit, but chose the 4 bc the colors were more vibrant and the 2 showed a bit of armpit fat. overall SUPER flattering and felt amazing.
