Peekaboo back
Funny entry to wearing and then exiting this piece. It feels like entering a portal and then going out via water slide. I loved the colorful pattern and fact that it had pockets!!!

Not as tight as a bandage dress
I liked the cut of this dress for a bit of movement and flair. It hugs the curves so work with what you got and the heavier fabric kept me warm on the cold December days when I wore this.

Layering piece
Overall I thought it was a nice departure from my normal unembellished winter look Definitely not the complete winter coat, but big enough to layer on top of your warmer pieces so make up for the temperature coverage. Listen to the others when they say this quilts jacket runs big and go for size or two down from normal. There’s cinching toggles at the sleeves to cut the wind from entering There are buttons around the neck as if there should be a hood attachment but the jacket I received did not have a hood included if there was one.

Arm sleeve vents
I somehow missed this giant gaping detail when renting this but it’s kind of nice when you run hot to have the under arm holes in the sleeves so there’s somewhere to lose heat from when you’re baking in this giant sweater.

Romper fit right
Definitely need to keep an eye on nature calls because you have to unbutton all the way down to be able to make that happen. Then after you’ve buttoned yourself all the way back up, don’t forget to do up the waist belt. Thankfully it’s sewn into the back so all you have to manage is not to twist up the belt in the waist loops. The pockets are substantial and things don’t easily fall out when you’re rummaging around.

A long dress that worked for a short girl
I liked that this dress didn’t touch the ground but wasn’t too short when I wore it to go in a hot air balloon. The length worked to keep my legs warm when we started out before sunrise and covered when it got warmer and sunnier later in the day. The pockets kept my hands warm in the morning chill. The only downside is the cap sleeves top. You can’t be raising your arms above your torso without feeling awkward, i.e., no raising the roof dance moves without feeling like you’re going to hulk out

Tricky shoulder straps
Definitely need to get someone else’s help to make the straps work because doing it yourself while wearing the dress is like chasing your own tail. One side will inevitably be lopsided because you’re tying with a non dominant hand. I tried to hide my skin from the blazing southwestern sun but the long shoulder straps made for a tricky thing to work around

I wore this at a Pueblo feast day where they didn’t allow cameras so I never got any photos wearing this outfit but the fabric was light and there was loose draping coverage on a hot and unforgivingly sunny day in Taos, NM. I used the flowing fabric to act like a cover to my arms when I had them by my sides.

Beautiful pattern
Fabric was soft and flowy and I loved the pattern so much. Both sizes 8&10 felt doable, but I opted for the 10 to leave more room for dinner and dancing. Back closures not easy to DIY so have someone nearby to help. Could have gone bra less, no fear of peekaboos, but decided in the end to go with a bra since the middle back closure covered where the back strap could possibly be seen

Maybe wearing this without any covering like a blazer or a wrap was weird during this week when temps dropped to the 30’s outside but the heat was pumped high enough indoors wherever I went that I felt fine. Probably citibiking to the destination in the outfit has a lot to do with how I was already primed with an inner fire. Took a few wears before I figured how you didn’t have to unzip or completely take off the top halter collar half and I could take a nature break by just unzipping the back. Top fit great with no bra needed. I did try with a bra but the bra shoulder straps gave the game away and I didn’t bother to try how a strapless bra might go. Trouser legs felt hella long for this short gal

From the theatre to the office
Loop buttons are the bane of my existence and the way these are set on the dress front leaves a sternum gap so I wore a tank top underneath for modesty. Did not look my best with bra showing underneath without the tank top layer. It’s a nice length for biking, doesn’t fly away with a gust underneath because of how the skirt has a seam band(?) around mid thigh.

Next time with heeling
The length of the dress grazed the ground and so I had to lift / hold the skirt to just walk. Princess vibes with the swishing. With more planning, I should have picked a chunkier platform heel instead. Though I was hesitant at first & considered fashion tape or a strapless bra , the v in the front with the modesty clasp done held up without a bra for an indoors sit down meal. Maybe I would have gone with the fashion tape if I had to be outdoors to prevent wardrobe malfunctions Get help with the zipper in the back if you have any semblance of a rib cage. Size 6 was not easy to zip up on my own, but at least it was possible, unlike with the back up size 2. Size 8 was not available for my rental timing :/

I suppose going for a 6 for the first pick was aspirational, but the 8 was unavailable. Glad I opted for the 10 for safety and this fit much more comfortably up top with a bra on and I was able to zip on my own. The tie your own knot shoulders are a bit of a faff to do on your own - if you have someone else to help, count yourself blessed. I was afraid wearing flats with a maxi skirt would be unsafe but it worked out and even rode a citibike to the ferry wearing this. Managed to squeeze the last drops of summer out of this lemon dress by learning new style hustle dance in the park. The maxi skirt comes in handy for improv and expression.

The colour of this is a very dark brown, not black as I assumed. Leg length still long for a person of 5’2” wearing 2” platform boots. Plunging neckline is a bit daring for my taste, though I did try to just wear a bra underneath for a sense check. I decided to wear a shirt underneath and make the look a bit more daytime casual / museum visit friendly. Your taste and results may vary depending on context. Weird not quite camel toe but crotch bulge due to how the design goes diagonally over the zipper area and how the fabric drapes - noticeable to me, the wearer at least. Nobody noticed in the dark Mugler fashion exhibit I wore this too at Brooklyn museum or at brunch when I was mostly sitting down and a table blocked the view.

Standout in the steakhouse
The puffy shoulders are a bit tricky for nature breaks, since you have to make sure your arm is actually in the sleeve ends. Say goodbye to raising your hands above your shoulder, as movement is limited in that direction due to the shoulder design. People also kept thinking the one piece was a dress due to the shoulders, I think, which was an ego boost as I felt like I was actually wearing a very comfy but cute grownup onesie. My one drawback is the long zip up the back. Not easy as you try to close the last couple inches at the neck. Call in assistance if you have it when you have to disrobe.

Damsel in a dress
Originally thought I was wearing this for an elopement ceremony in the redwoods but ended up wearing on a stroll in San Francisco instead. The hem length was great hiding bike tan lines. The material was comfortable and cut of the dress held up to some cable car breezes and marina side winds, no danger of flying up. You can get as fancy or simple as you like with the tie yourself shoulder straps.

Statement pieces like these magic pants are great for normally ho-hum convention booth work as an attention grabber / easy conversation starter! I love that I was able to comfortably use bike share because the leg room is super generous. I could carry my cellphone with square reader attached as I walked around a convention hall because it has pockets! The fabric was rain resistant to an extent and I stayed pretty dry considering getting caught in drizzle.

Twirl the night away in this flirty patterned dress
Wearing this dress on a high 70- low 80 degree day (on the last weekend of September) in an un-airconditioned church confirms that the weight of the fabric is quite noticeably heavy, but since I followed previous ladies' advice about sizing down, its stretchy thickness kept things aloft when I decided to go sans bra because I forgot to pack a strapless or convertible racerback. The cut of the armholes will show off regular shoulder straps because things get narrower towards the neckline. I chose this dress for its demure neckline and modest length, but most importantly, its eyecatching pattern! The mini thumbnail led me to assume the dress was black, but in real life, it's closer to the color of an old timey tv screen with no reception, with bit of shimmer, which makes it even more fun.

Modest cut, but eye-catching print!
I picked a 6 for a backup after reading about the fitted waist (Chinese wedding banquets are like 10+ courses!), but ended up sticking with the 4 since the waist hit high around my rib cage, not my bellybutton, and wasn't much different between the sizes. The size 6 dress also kept poofing at the neck and bust whenever I raised my arms, also very fitted in both sizes. The dress length was perfectly modest for being around the older relatives. Print looked yellow to me based on the site picture, but looks more chartreuse in person. Outer fabric and inner lining felt great, but together they are heavy and thick, and the June wedding banquet I attended had no AC (unfortunate circumstances), so keep that in mind if you're planning on wearing this in warm weather.
