Why must everything be cropped or nearly cropped these day? Still cute but wish it was longer

Elegant and slippery
Needed glue as it threatened to fall off and leave me topless all night which I suspect is a faux pas during a wedding but for loads of compliments and told this dress was made for me! As a busty curvy gala, I was worried about the silk but it was surprisingly flattering
