Sparkliest 30th Birthday!

Wore this out for my 30th birthday and was definitely the sparkliest one there! Got lots of compliments and loved the colors and pattern on the dress. Cons: Because I am tall and have a long torso, like all minidresses this one was borderline on length so there was no room to bend down and when I was sitting the liner would pull up a bit and so I was sitting on the sequined outer layer which was a bit uncomfortable. Pros: Didn't have any issues with the sequins scratching my arms like they often can with these kinds of dresses. It really stood out and was well made. Got tons of compliments! Fit: As a long-torsoed lady with a curvy butt and hips, I had to size up from my normal 4 to a 6. If an 8 had been available when I rented, I would have probably preferred that - there was no extra room around the hips. It has no stretch, so as a B cup it fit me fine on top but Cs and larger would also want to size up for the bust. This dress was probably designed for a very straight and narrow body type but with the right sizing curvier girls can rock it too!

One of a kind look!

Rented this for a 1920s speakeasy party and it was the perfect look for the evening from the sequins to the teal, gold, and copper colors. I gave it 3 stars because of the fit - based on other reviewers' comments, I rented a 6 instead of a 4 and got an 8 for backup. I wore the slip from the larger dress and the overlay from the smaller dress, and the slip still rode up and seemed too short for the dress. If you have anything going on in the butt and hips you'll probably have the same. Otherwise it was gorgeous and stood out.

Old Hollywood Glamour!

Got this dress as a free upgrade when the dress I originally ordered wasn't available. Got tons of compliments! Fit: a little weird - dresses tend to be tight for me around hips/butt before anywhere else, but this dress was tight on top. The 4 (my usual size) would have fit on bottom but couldn't zip it up - even with the 6 I had to get a little help! Once I had it on, it was comfortable. Girls with larger breasts or a wide rib cage might have to size up a couple of sizes. Undergarments: a regular bra would not work - there are no places at the should to hook in straps, and it's a bit too low in the bag. A strapless bra worked - it shows a bit if you bend over; the fabric is quite stiff so when you bend it doesn't bend with you, but better to show a glimpse of a bra than something else! Length: Even as a tall girl with a long torso, it came down to the tops of my knees. Wouldn't recommend for petite ladies The color was a gorgeous lipstick red, the silhouette was amazing, and the fabric looked really luxurious. The ruffle/sash was cute - didn't stand out as much as it looks like in the model's picture, but it was fun for dancing. I accessorized with gold shoes and gold/crystal earrings.

Looks a little cheap up close

I didn't end up wearing these - party, because when I got the dress I didn't think they'd look great with it, and party because I thought they looked a little cheap up close - like the beads and sequins were just glued into a bangle.

Showstopper!

I wore this for a wedding whose suggested attire was "black tie optional garden party attire" - you know you're going to need RTR when that's the description. It looked BEAUTIFUL and got a lot of compliments, including from people I didn't know. I usually wear a 4 and the 4 fit in this dress. It was not roomy but I think it would have been falling down if it didn't fit like a glove, so that was probably good. It stays up pretty well, though not comfortable for excessive movement or sitting down in low chairs. I wouldn't suggest it for very curvy people or if you want to be able to move around a lot. Also, the fabric is thick and the dress is fully lined so you might be sweating quite a lot if you're wearing this somewhere hot. For a cool late spring event, it was perfect. Also, as a taller person with a long torso I often have issues with dresses being too short but the length on this was perfect on me for a more formal event. Would not suggest to petite people. I wore with gold shoes and accessories. Would also look cool with a pale mint green. As usual, RTR service was fantastic - there was an issue with the boning poking out of my dress that I noticed too late to get a replacement, and while it did scratch me all night I have no complaints because their customer service comped the entire dress for me. Always a good experience!!

Cool dress for the right occasion

I rented this dress as a backup because it looked intriguing and I thought it would either be the coolest, most unique dress ever, or look like Scarlett O'Hara's curtain dress. One I tried it on it was somewhere in the middle. Did not end up wearing it, though. Fit was fine. I am normally a 4, which translates to a 42, and it fit perfectly in the bodice. The skirt, as other reviewers mentioned, is poofier than it looks in the picture. If you have any butt action in the back, it will look like you have a bustled skirt. As a tall girl with a long torso, length was nice, but anyone under 5'6" definitely should not rent. In person, the fabric is cool but very shiny. The pegasus (pegasuses?) are silver, and their wings are made from a sparkly silver material which was a bit much and is not clear from the photos. I was going to wear this for a rehearsal dinner for a formal wedding but I felt uncomfortable that this dress would look like I was trying to overpower the bride. It definitely makes a statement. Also, on my particular dress, one strap was just a bit longer than the other (maybe 3/4"), so it made the fit look off and the dress look cheaper. On the whole, consider renting if you are tall, have a small butt, and you're not afraid to stand out at the party.

Eye catching but not over the top!

They're not as heavy as they look like they might be. Earrings sometimes irritate my ears and turn them red but these didn't give me any problems.

Perfect dress for outdoor summer wedding!

Wore this dress for an outdoor wedding and received compliments all night (even from people I didn't know!) It was fun, a great color, and very comfortable (you can wear it with a regular bra with no problems, although with the lower cut you need a bra that doesn't cover too high. A demi bra would be perfect.) Fit - As other reviewers said, it does run tight in the bust. I am a 34 C and I had to have help zipping it up (though it was fine once I had it on). If you're any bigger, size up. The fit was flattering for hourglass/curvy figures because it has the appearance of a drop waist with pleats, but it's still nipped in at the waist so you don't get that boxy look that can ruin dresses for those of us who have curves. No tightness in the hips, which is where dresses usually fit tight for me. I have a long torso and dresses can often be too short, and this one was good. Note - the belt that is shown in the picture did not come with my dress, but I actually liked it better without. Again, the dress is fitted at the waist a little so you don't need a belt to pull in the waist like you would on a boxier dress. I danced all night in this dress! Wore it with the Kate Spade crystal earrings that I got from the Stylist Surprise bling (always a good choice!) and paired it with mint green heels and a mint green bracelet. Got lots of compliments on the color combo, too!

Comfortable and unique looking

Wore for a wedding. The fabric is actually a heavy knit - while it's really high quality, it turned out looking a little more casual than I'd thought but I still really liked the pattern and the dress. You can definitely wear this with a regular bra, and the dress is comfortable for dancing and moving around. The heaviness of the fabric is nice and helps the dress hang beautifully. Good for curvy figures as the waist is fitted but there's plenty of room in the hips and the fabric is stretchy in the bust. I have a long torso, but the dress was still long enough to wear comfortably.
