I liked these and thought they would have been great for a Gatsby themed party. In the end, I chose not to wear them because they were really to big to wear with a necklace (and I really wanted to wear my Ben-Amun pearl necklace). These are definitely enough of a statement that you could wear them on their own with no other jewelry. Unless you're really tall, I think they're probably too large to pull off with a necklace.

I ordered a 4P with the 6P as back-up (bc the 2P wasn't available). I got an email letting me know the previous renter had damaged the 4P and it couldn't be repaired in time for my rental. They would still send the 6P, but I knew it ran large. RTR offered any dress as a replacement, regardless of cost. However, the pickings were slim the Friday afternoon before Memorial Day (I needed the dress by Tuesday). RTR sent me 6 others (some I had picked, and some that they chose). Not a single replacement dress was a petite, so they were far too long. The dress is gorgeous. I got lots of compliments. It showed a few signs of wear but I doubt anyone else would have noticed (a couple of snags, a tiny hole at the hem). The zipper kept getting caught. The dress was too big in the bust (even with a padded strapless bra), and I spent a good bit of the night hiking it up. For a petite, it was VERY long--I considered trying to tape the hem, but it seemed like too much of an undertaking. It was longer in the front than the back, and even with very high heels (around 5”), I had to hold up the dress when I walked to avoid stepping on the hem. The bust was so big that it kept falling down, so I'm sure that affected the length. Also, because the dress was too large, there was extra material at the hips that wasn't really flattering. I tried this same style in red in a 4R, and it fit better up top (but was way too long, and a bad color for me). I appreciated RTR's customer service efforts. But there was a pitiful inventory of dresses in petite lengths (and they're hard to search for). Based on the experience I had with this one, I know I need a petite length for a long gown here. Next time I'll reserve the dress further in advance, and I'd probably go ahead and order a back-up style.

I was sent this dress as a back-up when my original pick had been damaged by the previous wearer and wasn't available. I ultimately didn't choose to wear it (and don't have photos). I liked this dress and the fit was pretty good aside from being large in the bust,. But for some reason my boyfriend thought it looked matronly and suggested I wear another instead. It was very light and airy (unusual for a formal gown), and actually pretty comfortable to move around in. It was quite long and I would have needed fashion tape to hem it, but that was expected since the petite length in my size wasn't available. The color is gorgeous.
