You have to go one size up from your normal size. the size 14 was too tight around the waist. The size 16 was perfect around the waist but too loose on the top. The regular length on 14 was above my ankles and not attractive. The regular length on the 16 was right on top of my feet with 1.2" heels. Get the long if you don't want your shoes to show. Dress is pretty but looked frumpy on me because the top was a little loose, probably from being worn so much. I went from an hourglass figure to boxy. There were also some stitching issues and the pads they put in the bra had become twisted and not in a alignment so my chest looked lopsided. Definitely suggest getting it sent to you early to see if it fits you, especially if you are curvy

The color of this dress is a rich red and it is covered in sparkles. The only drawback is all the glitter all over my car. I wore it for a jazz performance for Valentine's Day and it I really stood out among black and grey dresses. It was just showy enough to be fun and the style is just dressy enough for a evening event. The bodice is slightly large, but I used fashion tape on the back straps to pull them back a little and then it looked great. You don't need a bra to wear this dress because there is a full liner. The skirt has several layers, which makes the skirt look fuller and swish around when you move. The glitter really catches the light. It looked amazing in the dance floor. It is a slightly heavy dress and you have to tuck the skirt in when you get in a car or to your seat but it was extremely comfortable!

I rented this dress for a new year's eve gala, along with earrings with blue and white diamonds, a diamond bracelet, and a sparkly purse and the combination was perfect. I recently gained weight due to an injury and was worried I wouldn't look good in anything. I went to the store in Georgetown DC and worked with a stylist and she had me try on this one last and my boyfriend loved it. It runs a little large but hangs well. The gap on the leg does not open unless you sit down because there is so much fabric. There is a slight train and the dress swishes when you walk. It gathers on the side to give a waistline. It has a liner, which lets the dress hang down instead of gathering. The sequins under the arms were scratchy but worth it. The dress was heavy but stretchy and comfortable. It was even easy to manage in the bathroom. The sparkles and design made it very glamorous and I got a lot of compliments all night. I think it would be good to try on your actual size and one size down. I recommend getting glitzy jewelry and shimmery makeup so the dress doesn't wash you out. Silver sandals or even flats work great because it is long enough to cover everything but your toes. I definitely recommend going to the store if you can. I was not only able to try on several dresses, but Birchbox is there and they sell makeup and I paid to have a makeover an hour before the party. Not only did they do my makeup, the manager helped style my hair so it looked sophisticated. They also give you a glass of champagne and were very nice. I felt like I had my own styling team!

I got this to complement a sparkly long gown I rented. This bag is amazingly beautiful. The diamonds on the clasp and the silver color were beautiful and looked spectacular with a gown with glitter. the bag has a short chain that goes around the wrist and is large enough for a phone, keys, lipstick, ID, and a few other small things. I carried it all night because it was so pretty.
