Easy to wear; gorgeous emerald

My boyfriend commented while helping me zip up, "This dress fits you like a glove." And it did. I typically wear a size 2 in Ann Taylor Loft clothing, and I'd say this dress fit very similar to their sizing. (That said, AT Loft clothing runs large; I believe like my body is actually a 4 even though I wore the 2. In the grand scheme of clothing, this dress probably runs large. Compared to other mainstream retailers--like LOFT and The Limited--this dress runs true to size.) I have a 32D chest, and while the back clasp felt snug, the size 4 was much too big. Moreover, this dress is very comfortable (and I'm someone who doesn't wear a lot of dresses/formal attire). It moved easily, though did ride up a pinch when seated. I tend to have wider hips so pencil skirts fit me snuggly, yet this dress was pretty perfect through the hips. I'm also someone who tends to be cold--all the time--and this dress surprisingly wasn't chilly even in an over-air-conditioned reception hall. I worried about having to figure out a bra to work with the dress given the back is pretty low and exposed. However, as others have said--the dress has boning and a bra line clasp that allowed me to go braless. Even larger chested girls shouldn't worry. This dress will hold your girls and give them shape! I ended up wearing nude heels and pinkish-gold earrings. Any pop of color would likely work well with this dress. Loved this dress. If there weren't so many other beauties to try, I'd rent this again. I gave the dress 4 rather than 5 stars only because both the size 4 and size 2 had snags in the lace. They weren't so bad as to make them unwearable, but I did notice them. Also, the lace at the neckline was a little droopy.

I LOVED this necklace

The necklace was a little hard to tie at first--because the crystals near the tie kept wanting to twist. But, once I got it all set, I loved it. The necklace's ribbons are long enough to really adjust the length of the necklace to suit your neckline. I choose to tie the necklace relatively tight--so that it was shorter. I felt like it was very elegant, and I loved having the ribbon hanging down in back. It made for the perfect accessory to dress up an otherwise bland dress--and it was understated enough to not be too showy or over-the-top. I loved this piece and will likely rent again.

Such an elegant dress

I did not have a lot of time to get ready--I was running late from work to get to a party--so I just threw on the size 38 (the 36 was my back-up) because a fair number of reviews said the dress ran small, particularly in the hips. The 38 worked but was a bit loose around my mid-section and breasts. I *think* the 36 would have been better fitting in the top, but may have been too small in the hips since the 38 seemed to fit perfectly around my hips. But, again, I was rushing so I just didn't have enough time to try the 36 on. I was happy with the 38. The dress is so easy to wear, very comfortable, and so very elegant. I felt pretty in it--even without having time to re-do my makeup or create an updo with my hair. In fact, I felt so pretty in this dress that I imagine I'll rent it again. The decoration around the waist is attached to the dress and isn't too tight. The opening in back adds just a touch of sexiness, and while the hips are somewhat narrow, the dress does have some give and stretches a bit as you wear it.

Great accessory to jazz up a dress

I wore this bracelet with some earrings to bring some color "pop" to my bridesmaid dress. My dress had a one-shoulder neckline, which made wearing a necklace a bit difficult. I was looking for some bolder accessories to make up for not wearing a necklace. This bracelet fit the bill. It offered just the pop of color and "chunkiness" I needed. The only complaint I have is it came unlatched a couple of times and fell off my wrist--mostly when I was clapping.

Beautiful pop of color!

These earrings worked so, so well with my emerald bridesmaid dress. They were the perfect pop of color against my skin and hair. Moreover, the earrings looked as stunning with my hair down as with my hair up. They weren't too big as to be heavy or overpowering to my overall look, but they were big enough to be noticed and provide some style to my dress. I wore the earrings without a necklace since I had a one-shoulder neckline, and as such, they offered just enough boldness to counteract not having on a necklace. I loved these earrings and I think the green would work well with yellows, oranges, pinks, and purples.

Beautiful Dress, Fits a Straighter Profile

This dress is gorgeous. I loved how the neckline looked, and I felt very elegant in it. However, despite wearing between a size 2 and 4, I have hips. In the hips, the dress seemed to not lay very well and looked quite a bit less flattering. On the size 2, the pleats puckered quite a bit, making the dress bunch/pull in places it shouldn't have. On the size 4, while the hips fit a bit better, the pleats still did not lay flat like they needed two--while the waist was a bit big. As such, I choose not to wear this dress as the 2 was too small and the 4 didn't accentuate my waist and still made me feel uncomfortable in the hips.

Looked good on others, not on me.

I had both a size 4 & 2 shipped to me. The size 4 was too big in the waist and the arm holes (showed my bra), but it was almost too tight in the bust. The size 2 fit everywhere else nicely but was WAY too small in the bust. I felt like I was going to pop out of it. I just didn't feel comfortable in the dress, so I returned it without wearing it. I wear a 32DD bra, so I do not recommend this dress for bustier gals.

This dress was perfect: so elegant and so comfortable!

I was a new, breastfeeding mom when I rented this dress. I hadn't felt "pretty" in about a year, having been pregnant and then feeling heavy after giving birth. Yet this dress was so elegant! The fabric was thick enough to give structure and rich enough to make the whole ensemble feel and seem high-end. As a bonus, the snap along the bust allowed me to breastfeed my son at the wedding without having to disrobe! This was the perfect dress. Everything from the wrap style that cinched my waste to the snap at the bust to the length to the ruffle was perfect. I would highly recommend this dress.

Easy to wear; perfect dress for my gala

Like other reviews mentioned, the fabric on this dress is very rich. It's heavier than your typical fabric with a beautiful brocade design in it. The fabric, the pockets, the way the shoulder draped, and the perfect fit at the waise were my favorite parts of the dress. The thickness of the fabric gives the dress some structure and makes it a wonderful dress to wear in the autumn or winter. I didn't have to pull at the dress or worry about the fabric pooling awkwardly. It fit well and was super easy to wear. My dress did have a small rip in the lining where the zipper ended, but it was on the inside of the dress and not a big deal. I typically wear between a size 2 and 4. The size 4 in this dress wasn't available so I went with just a 2. Thankfully it fit just fine. Had the 4 been available, I have may chosen it just to give the dress a bit more length, but as it was, the 2 worked. I did feel it was a little short but mostly just noticed/felt this when I sat down. But really, that may have just been me. I'm not used to wearing things above my knee.

Perfectly elegant; this dress stood out without being showy, just what I needed for the occasion.

I am typically a size 4, and I have an athletic build, hourglass body. I wore the size 4, except, I chose to wear the size 2 belt to help cinch the waist. I probably could have worn the size 2 dress, but it was a bit snug around the hips, which made me feel self-conscious. There is very little give in the fabric, so I suggest going with your size. Other reviews complained the belt was too small. I did not find that to be a problem, but I do have a thinner waist. If you have a thicker middle or larger hips, go a size up for your back-up so you can use the larger belt if needed. If you have a thinner waist and average hips, go a size down for your back-up--again so you can accentuate your waist a bit more. That, or have on hand your own black ribbon or sash to tie around the waist. The dress will work fine with either. Having something tied around your waist, though, is the key to this dress. Without it, the dress may just hang without a lot of shape. This dress looked beautiful with pearls, and it was so very elegant. I wore it to the ordination of my boyfriend where I wanted to look stunning without being over-the-top. It fit the bill. I looked demure enough for the church ceremony, and it transitioned wonderfully to the cocktail hour afterwards.
