Nice dress, but a little loose for petite ladies

I wore this dress to a wedding reception when I was 3 months pregnant. The dress is loose-fitting, which worked out well since I had a slight belly bump at that point that was making tight-fitting dresses slightly uncomfortable to wear without looking like I had ate too many donuts and gained 10 pounds. If I hadn't been pregnant, I probably wouldn't have rented this dress since it was a little loose and wouldn't have looked very polished on a short/small frame. However, it's still a beautiful dress and I had no issues with the quality/condition of the dress when it arrived.

Bump Friendly LBD!

I wore this dress while 6 months pregnant to a fundraising dinner. The top part and the sleeves were a little loose, but it wasn't noticeable and also understandable since most dresses don't fit my torso perfectly given my height/size. The material is semi stretchy, which made it it easy to fit my belly bump. It was definitely a nice upgrade from a simple black dress, especially when nothing in my closet was fitting :)

Unique dress but weird hem!

I rented this dress for an outdoor summer wedding. I got both the XS in the regular and short lengths. I like it when my long dresses skim the floor and don't show my feet (like in the picture), but with 2.5 inch heels, the XS short length was about 1.5 inches off the floor. The XS regular would have been a perfect length with taller heels, but the top part was just too loose. My only other complaint with this dress was the the hem is longer on the sides of the dress than the front and the back. So the dress was either too short in the front and back but touching the ground on the sides, or perfect length in the front and back but dragging on the ground on the sides. Weird design -- it was like that for both sizes I got, so I don't think it was a defect.

Pretty dress but a little short!

I rented this dress for a nice spring wedding and paired the dress with a pair of nude patent pumps, which worked out well. The dress arrived in perfect condition, but I had a slight freak out moment when I saw how poofy the skirt was! I spent some time gently pulling each layer of tulle so it sat flatter, and I hung it in the bathroom while I took shower in hope that the steam would flatten it even more. The skirt was less poofy afterwards, which was great because I sort of felt like Little Bo Peep. My only other issue is that the dress is very short...even for me, and I'm only 5 foot tall. I had to be very careful bending over so I didn't flash all the other guests. Though it wasn't really my style, I'm glad I rented the dress and it definitely is a good choice if you're looking for something classy but different.

Beautiful and classy LBD

I rented this dress for a performance that I was in because the dress code was black with red accents. I rented both the XS and S (I'm normally a XS), and though the XS fit fine, I ended up going with the S since the dress is very form fitting and I didn't want to look like a stuffed sausage on stage. The material is very stretchy but thick enough to help suck everything in. I wore the dress with a pair of peep toe heels and a bib necklace. The dressed arrived in good condition, except that the bottom hem felt a little stretched out. It wasn't noticeable unless you looked close. The only other minor complaint was that inner lining is the same length as the outside layer, so the inner lining kept showing when the outside layer would ride up. I ended up spending most of the night pulling down, which other renters probably struggled with too (and explains why the hem was stretched out). The dress hit above my knees, so I imagine it's a lot short for those taller ladies out there. It didn't have a "wow" factor nor did I get as many comments as I normally do when I rent RTR dresses, but overall it was a nice LBD if you want something different.

pretty dress for a formal wedding

My husband and I were invited to our first Indian wedding, and I thought this dress style and color would fit in well with guests who may be wearing traditional Indian attire. The dress came in good condition with no stains and fabric issues. Like every dress I rent, the torso section was a little long, so I had to take in about 2-3 inches at the shoulders. If I hadn't, the cleavage section would have been too loose and I would have ended up flashing half the guests. Once I took in the fabric at the shoulders, the length was manageable (I'm 5'0" and wore 4.5 inch heels). The hem was skimming the floor (maybe a quarter inch on the floor), so just to be safe I still lifted the dress a little as I walked so I didn't tear the hem. Overall, I liked the look of the dress. It's not very tight so it had a slight "am I pregnant, am I not" look on me but I was ok with it. My only issue was that, though the fabric was very pretty, chiffon shows stains way too easily. I have some pictures where you can see where a piece of salad fell on my dress and by the end of the night, there were white wine stains on the front after people backed up into me holding a glass of wine. It's not an issue if you are in a dark room for the entire event, but it was just making me self conscious and super cautious the entire night. Overall, it wasn't a perfect dress for me, but given the workability of the fabric to allow me to take in a few inches at the top and the style I needed for the wedding, I was happy with my rental.

Great flowy dress but shapeless without a belt!

This dress is very pretty, but it was looking very toga-like and shapeless. I ended up stopping by Target and buying a belt right before we attended the wedding to create some shape. I pulled the material a little over the belt to hide it, and it ended up looking a lot better. Don't get me wrong because it would have looked fine without a belt, but since I'm a little a the short side, I didn't want to look like I wore a towel to the wedding. However, using a belt meant the dress was a little shorter -- the bottom part of the dress (with me wearing 4.5 inch heels) was off the floor, but the short part of the dress was VERY short. It wasn't so noticeable because it's a flowy dress, but I was only able to cross my legs one way in fear of flashing everyone. The material was great and the dresses I was sent had no issues at all. Overall, I would recommend this dress so long as you have a black belt ready to go just in case the dress looks too toga-like for you too!

Fabulous long dress that fits even us short ladies!

I had a difficult time picking a long dress to wear off of the RTR website because, being only 5'00", everything was bound to be dragging on the ground even with 4 inch heels on. Luckily, I'm happy to say that this dress was perfect. In the model's picture, the dress looked like it was a few inches off the ground -- I was able to wear about 3 inch heels and the dress was only an inch off the ground and had no issues at all with dragging. I like the "dress almost down to the floor" look anyway, so it worked out. Both the 0R and 2R dresses I received had zipper issues -- one the zipper kept getting stuck halfway up the dress and required both my husband and I to zip it up, and the other the zipper was starting to detach from the dress. They still technically worked and din't take away from the aesthetic of the dress. Also, because of the pattern, any issues w/ the fabric wasn't very apparent. The gold threads running through the dress would sometimes fall out, but you can't tell with the busy fabric. The dress is also very flowy, so it was great in hiding that extra stomach after eating lots of food. Overall, I got many comments about how nice the dress was and two people even pulled me aside and asked me where I got it!

Sexy and sophisticated dress, but it's a little short, even for a someone who's 5'0" tall!

I really love the look of this dress -- it was sophisticated and very flattering. When I got the dress, it looked like it was in pretty good condition -- there were no stains or snares and looked like it was only worn a few times prior. I got both an XS and S -- I normally can't fit into a size S dress, but would have been fine wearing the S in this dress because it was meant to be a little more saggy on top and the bottom was still form fitting but just a little longer. I was actually going to wear the S because it wasn't as short, but the zipper on the back was pretty stiff and it ended up making me look like a hunchback because my torso was too short for the S. My only complaint was that dress was very short, even though I'm only 5 foot even -- I can't imagine just how short it is on taller women. I know it's not like it didn't fit because I'm super curvy (because I'm not) and because it's the wrong size, since I am normally a size XS (24 in waist). I ended up spending the whole evening pulling on the edges of the dress and avoiding raising my arms, because it would have made the skirt rise up 3 inches. With the skirt pulled down in the right position, it hit about an inch higher than my fingertips. So my recommendation would be to definitely get backup dress a size bigger than your normal size just in case.

Beautiful dress, but it didn't fit me 100% perfectly

This dress fit me ok -- it wasn't too tight that I couldn't breathe, but it could have been tighter to hug my curves. Depending on the dress, I can normally wear a 00 or 0, so given that this dress is a little stretchy, I could have gone with a 00 if they made it in that size. The dress was nice and thick that it panty and bra lines won't show and the back is nice and low but you can still wear a normal bra with the dress. But, because the dress was thicker, it was very unforgiving when it wasn't sitting perfectly on your body. Everytime I stood up, I had to pull down my dress and smooth it out or the thick fabric would make me look lumpy. The challenge with being short is that my torso is shorter than most people's, so I normally need to alter the dresses I wear a little at the shoulders so the dress would fit properly. With this dress, the length was fine and was about fingertip length (I'm 5'0"). But when I sat down, it was evident that I could have sewn an inch at the shoulders because I would lean over and you can see my bra (so FYI, keep your leopard print bra at home and wear a simple black one just in case. unless you're into that sort of look). Unfortunately, the fabric was too heavy and the lace wouldn't have looked good if I had put a few stitches at the shoulders. The chest area is also double layered, and the bottom layer kept rising up so I spent much of the evening stuffing it back in. The lace around the chest also kept curling (despite my efforts before the event to iron it out). Overall, it was a nice dress and a good rental if you want an out-of-the-ordinary LBD. However, it wasn't the perfect dress for me, even if my husband did say he liked it (but then again, I suppose he may be a little biased!).

This is a very sophisticated dress! I got a lot of compliments on how great it looked.

This dress came in very good shape -- since it's all lace, I was afraid there would be lots of snags or breaks in the lace that would be evident once I put the dress on. When it came, everything looked fine and there were no noticeable flaws in the lace. Like previous reviewers noted, it is a dark blue dress even though it looks black in the picture. Because I'm a little shorter, the dress sat lower and looked a little big around the hips and hit way past my knees (it's an issue with any dress I wear that is not petite sized, so it's not a specific fault of this dress). To fix it, I put in a few simple stitches at the shoulder area so the dress sits higher, which didn't mess up the dress at all since it is lace and you can just put a stitch through the hole areas of the lace. It looked a lot better after I did this, since the curvy sections of the dress actually hit me where they are supposed to. However, the dress still hit below my knee, which is different than what is shown in the picture. Overall, it still looked good though I could notice that there was extra fabric around my waist and hips -- it definitely was not a tight fitting dress on me. It's fine given that it's not supposed to be super tight, but just an FYI for other shorter and smaller girls out there who usually have a hard time proportionally fitting into dresses.
