Understated, elegant beauty
Th touches on this dress made it perfect for NYE (I paired it with a black velvet shoulder jacket) it is a completely flattering dress. A built-in corset structure means a bra is not necessary. Perhaps most important to me and maybe to you, too, is that is made not from cheap polyester, but from beautiful cotton velvet touched with silk detailing. Note to RTR, please stock more natural fiber dresses!

just a great, pretty dress
Forgiving fit; could probably go up or down a size or two and still have it fit. Feminine for spring/summer but not too dressy. Just a great, simple dress.

summer casual wedding
I ended up not wearing this, but it's a lovely dress. Love the material (more silk, less synthetics and the world would be a better place). Best on a small waisted, smaller-chested figure. I thought the cut out shoulder read just a little too 'young' for me. But otherwise the style was perfect for a casual outdoor summer wedding.

Something different
Wanted something with a pop of color on hawaii vacation, and this fit the bill. Pros : bright color, comfy, easy fit Cons : a bit short in the leg (looked ok w srappy heeled sandal); kind of yucky synthtic fabric (though i knew tha t when i rented it ) Was fun, though probably would rent something with nicer fabric next time.

I didn't wear: chose my back up dress
I wasn't sure from the photos how this dress would 'read": hip/strong with the cut outleather, or kind of dowdy with the pleated skirt. I didni't love it on me, felt a bit dowdy. Ended up going with my back up dress which turned out to be perfect. I have a more 'boyish' waist; i think if you have a small/hourglass waist, and nice calves, this might be a great dress for you.

The glitter effect was subtle in a good way: more elegant than glam. I got tons of head turns (I know that sounds obnoxious, but ladies, you **know** you know when that happens), but didn't feel like I was thinking about the dress at all because it was both beautiful but comfortable. No tugging, etc. And it was nice but not "show a bunch of skin" sexy. Which was also perfect for a bitter cold winter night.

Gorgeous, glamorous, flattering fit.
Selfishly, I've been hesitating to write a review that will just make this dress more popular. This is a lovely dress, that will make you feel pretty and special. Despite the over-the-top gilding, somehow the long sleeve, high collar cut keeps it more elegant than flashy. Also, if like me you don't have much of a waist, this dress will give you one. I felt really 'girly' in a mad men kind of way. I would buy this dress if it were available. Great fit.

Subtle but pretty
Slickly large fit, I'm normally a size 8' but the 6 fit we'll on this dress, not even tight. Very elegant. Subtle bronze sheen.

Fabulous date-night dress
Herve Leger is fabulous. Though this dress is definitely designed to be tight and sexy, it's contructed in a way that's absolutely flattering. Seem to magically smooth bumps and bulges. And the one-shoulder coverage keeps it from being over-the top, or showing too much. In no way do I have a perfect figure, but this dress made me feel like a million bucks.
