The fit was super flattering. I am more pear shaped, and it accentuated my smaller waist well. Fitted, but not too fitted in the hips and butt. It was vibrant and fun.

This was a last minute back up dress, when my original rental dress did not work. The ruffles did have to be steamed in order to lay more flat before wearing. It was not my first choice, but the lace detail was pretty. The dress was super comfortable, and I felt like I had room to move and breath.

I tried this on in Bloomingdale's before renting, and the 8 fit perfectly. I rented an 8R and 8L. I am normally a 6 in dresses, but this dress is very fitted in the hips. The brand new dress in an 8 fit well, but the 8 I received from Rent the Runway was way too big on top. It must have stretched out with continuous wearings? Being a strapless dress, I could not wear it. As another review had said about the size 8- the hem was also very messed up on my backup size. It was super shrunken and short.

I did not end up wearing the dress. As another review had said- the string straps were extremely long and not tight therefore the front was extremely saggy and it just did not work. If I had used safety pins, I suppose that would have worked ok.

I found the fit of the dress to be really flattering! I am considerably smaller on top, so the size 4 fit really well and it also hid my bottom curves in a good way! Sometimes I wear a 6 depending on the hip region of a dress, but not with this one. You don't need shape-wear with this type of material, and the dress material does a great job of holding it all in. I am 5'10 and was able to get away with the shortness.

With dresses I am usually a size 4, but if the hip part is tight I lean towards a size 6. This had plenty of room in the hip area, so the 4 fit me very well. I would say this dress works well if you are more curvy on bottom. As other reviews noted, the color is dusty and muted yet still very pretty. I received 2 compliments on the pretty dress. Because I am 5'10, and the dress hem is asymmetrical- at the shortest part it was a bit short! I still found the dress to be conservative because of the neckline and overall loose fit. Also, the arm holes were large, but this wasn't a problem.

I would say that I found the dress to be true to size , but if you have a larger bust I would size up. I ordered a 6, and a size 8 back-up. Honestly, both fit and would have worked. At first, the dress seemed ill-fitted and not sexy..but it's a short (sexy) dress, and with heels it's much better. It's just not the fit and flare style that I generally gravitate towards. It's not very figure hugging, so I can see that this dress will work on just about every body type. I am 5'10, with considerably long legs and long arms. The dress sleeves were a little short, but the dress length was not too short. Other reviewers mentioned the top snaps not staying clasped, so i bought fashion tape and just taped the entire seam down. Extreme movement (when I put on/took off my coat) caused the clasps to open, but the tape still held it all down. Overall, the dress fit the look I was going for. It's still sexy, but in a professional way, which was perfect for the work holiday party that I attended.
