Perfect for hourglass shapes, for a booty + mom pooch, and for short legs
Brand: JW Anderson Item: Curved Hem Mini Skirt (lime green) Normally a M-L/8-10 in bottoms, size 29-30 jeans. Went with the UK 14 (US 10) and hallelujah it was a perfect fit. Could have sized down, but this sat nice and low on my hips without focusing on my stomach. I have a longer torso and shorter legs with a bit of a booty plus a mom pooch. Mini skirts are very new for me. This one is perfect. It’s higher on the sides but dips down in both the front and back. Unlike other reviewers, there was no problem with this being too short on me, mainly due to that curving hem. The one caveat is when I sat down. Hiked up pretty far, but I was in a situation where I could use a pillow to cover my lap, so I didn’t fret too much. Wrinkles easily. Lightweight fabric. Can be dressed up or down. Worth adding to my closet.

The outlier that didn’t love this dress
Runs true to size. Normally a S-M in dresses, went with the M. Prone to wrinkling. Needs a good steam/iron. As a 32DD, the banding/ruching wasn’t quite working with my girls. There’s a non-slip strip along the top hem and it didn’t want to play well with my strapless bra. Lumped and bumped underneath my armpits. And because I have a longer torso and the ruching itself doesn’t cover much space, it cut me off unnecessarily. I opted to wear as a coverup. Has pockets!

Don’t size down if you’ve got a booty or a mom pooch
Normally an 8-10 or M-L in bottoms, size 29-30 jeans. Based on the reviews, went with an AU 3 (US 8). Should have gone for the AU 4 (US 10). Tight around the midsection. Very high waisted. Even with a longer torso this pair cut me off and shortened me a bit. And I had to pull them down; if I’d let them sit at my natural waist, you definitely would’ve caught a bit of side cheek. 100% linen. Very breezy. Wrinkles easily.

Venus belly goddess
Runs true to size, if not slightly small. The SS2 (US 6-8) fit more like a US 4-6 for me. Gorgeous color and gorgeous fabric. It’s a lighter material than I was expecting. I did need to fabric tape along my bra straps and the underarm area to keep my bra unexposed. With a larger chest, I couldn’t imagine going unsupported in this, but the straps do work nicely with a traditional bra. Heads up: this dress will show all the lumpies and bumpies but girl, don’t take it as a bad thing. I opted for some slimwear underneath, but you don’t have to if you don’t want to. I will say. Even though the dress is form fitting, due to the material, it didn’t quite hug down my chest the way I wanted. It created a bit of a hanging slope instead. With my mom belly, it wasn’t as flattering in some side photos as if it’d been a true bodycon.

Runs slightly small and short, longer busts and torsos beware
She’s cute. She’s well made. But she’s a scoop neck that is a little extra sexy if you’re on the bigger bust side. She’s also short. Great if you’re going for a crop top look, perhaps perfect if you’ve got a shorter torso, but not ideal if you’re a longer-torso girlie trying to tuck things in. I’m normally a S in tops and went with a 2 (size US 2-4) I think a 3 (US 6-8) would have been a better fit.

Runs slightly large
Normally a M-L in bottoms, typically a M in skirts, and a solid size 29-30 in jeans. Went with the size 40 (US 8) and I’d say it fits closer to a large. Loose on my hips, but still catches and stays. The mini skirt underneath isn’t very noticeable when out and about, so I’d say there’s no issues with modesty if that’s a concern. Material does need a nice iron and it wrinkles easily but not noticeably so. Falls just above my ankles on my 5’7” frame (but I also have very short legs).

Wish I would’ve rented the set
Oversized fit, could potentially size down, even if you have a larger chest. It’s cropped but not too cropped; I have a longer torso and cropped can be a hit or miss with leaving a gap from hem to pants, but this fell at a nice length. Tied together, it still showed my bra, so if going layer-less and you need support, be aware you’ll need tape or cups. A bit hard to style with my current closet. Settled on a pair of navy linen pants. Wish I’d realized it was a set and rented the matching pink pants; I think that would’ve looked best.

Both great and not for longer torsos
Runs true to size. Decent weight to the weave. Material made it hard to tuck, longer torso made it hard to leave untucked. Half and French tucks wouldn’t lay right. Left out, it hit my waist in an unflattering way. And the backside bunched around my bra band that gave me added lumps? I really like the shirt itself but would likely not purchase.

Torso portion isn’t as long as it looks
Runs true to size. Medium-weight fabric. Pockets that lay perfectly flat. Does need a good iron, especially the interior lining. Beautiful length for my 5’7” frame. Only gripe is it shortened my longer torso. The ruching part of the fabric doesn’t extend as long as I’d personally prefer.

Runs oversized and very pajama-like
Normally a M-L in bottoms and often reach for a L due to my mom pooch. Super glad I went with the M. Even at that size they were almost too big. Roomy enough to hide my stomach, but the legs were very oversized despite my thicker thighs. I thought it looked best with an oversized hoodie. The elastic hem kept riding up above my stomach and even with a longer torso (seriously, it’s where all my height is) the top of these shorts wanted to nestle right beneath my boobs, full-on grandpa-style. Fabric is incredibly light and breezy. And somehow wrinkle free? Perfect for road tripping and the beach and summer days. Considering purchasing.

Reviews were right; happy I sized up
Normally a 4-6 in dresses. Per the reviews, sized up to an 8 and it was the right size, especially with my 32DD chest, but arm holes/shoulders are a little snug. My lats pooch a bit over the fabric (reminder this is totally normal, ladies), so if you’d prefer to avoid that for either comfort or style, I’d size up one more. Not sure how I feel about the torso portion. I have a long torso and hourglass figure and while it slightly widened my shape and pulled/tucked where my hips curve, it’s still flattering overall. Hard to make casual. Definitely felt elevated. At 5’7”, hem line fell several inches above my ankles. Lovely blend with the top vs bottom fabric.

Would say it runs slightly small, especially if you’re concerned with buttoning over a larger chest. I’m a 32DD and typically a S in tops, but sized up to a M. Would not have gone any smaller, even wearing unbuttoned. Sleeves are short on the wrists. Fabric has a pilled look. Surprisingly warm and makes a transitional piece. Colors brought a feeling of sunny happiness to a perpetually cloudy city, so no real complaints there.

Hourglass figures beware
Fits true to size but gives the appearance of running wider. Ruffles accentuated my large chest and made the girls (32 DD) look bigger than necessary. Completely cut off my waist and longer torso, “frumping” my midsection at its widest. Pretty color, lovely fabric, needed a good iron after unpacking. Looks great with a jean jacket.

Normally a S in tops. Went with a Size 2/US 4-6. It fit much closer to an XS. And not just across my chest either (32DD) but down my torso, especially when pulled taught from tucking into nicer pants. It’s stretchy enough and tight enough that it rode up and bunched on its own after I switched to sweatpants. Not sure how I feel about the keyhole back. My bra straps showed at the edges. Would need a bra with wider straps or no bra at all (not my go-to of choice with a larger chest). Fabric is a nice weight and it feels high quality. Color is gorgeous.

If in between sizes, size up
Normally a M-L in bottoms, but chose a M based on reviews. Wrongggg. With a semi-decent backside plus a mom pooch, the smaller size did me zero favors. Sucked in a lot for the front, embraced a nice wedgie I couldn’t keep unpicked in the back. They don’t hide anything around your waist if there isn’t room to spare. If I’d had the right fit, I really think I would have loved these. No elastic on the bottom hems (just a drawstring that you had to tie to cinch) but they are adjustable. No back pockets but there are deep front ones. Even with petite-length legs and un-cinched, they fell at a good length.

Shapeless on the bottom
Runs true to size, maybe slightly large. Typically a S in tops but went with the M. The black dots and V-neck elevate it past a simple classic. Hem length is a little on the short side if you have a longer torso. And the bottom half is kind of wide? Shapeless? Flares out instead of tapering in? Made things little frumpy when tucking and took away from my overall waist.

Typically a size S in tops, 4-6 in dresses. Per the reviews, sized down to a size 40 (US 4) but should have gone with a size 38 (US 2). Boxy fit for sure. But not too short, even with a longer torso. All in all, I love this shirt. I was complimented on this shirt by strangers. It’s fun and it’s funky and you can style it a host of different ways and it’s light and it’s breezy and it gives a great V-neck with some undone buttons. I’m 100% sold on it.

“I’m not like a regular mom. I’m a cool mom.”
Had to google the brand and its Copenhagen-based Scandi-cool aesthetic. Little boxy, nice length even for a longer torso, pattern is printed which is always a bonus. Runs fairly true to size; normally a S in tops but prefer a less-fitted tee so sized up to a M. It’s a shirt. A basic graphic tee. Have I drunk the kool aid? Because I like it. The fabric is soft and wears cool (temp-wise, though the graphic itself is, as I believe the current youths say, “lit”). Feels higher quality than your average retail window-shopping grab. I never manage to stay a fan of graphic tees for long, but this is a fun rental.

Difficult fit for longer torsos
Runs slightly large. Normally a S in tops but went with a M since it’s more jacket-esque. I mean . . . it’s pretty. Good quality. Quilted and lovely. But also boxy? And short. Even with my highest of high waisted pants, I couldn’t quite close that gap. Found it hard to style; needed a darker wash to pair with jeans. Didn’t love black pants with it, either. Probably could have played around with different pairings but ultimately wasn’t in love.

Runs true to size, but I gotta stop renting horizontal stripes. Needed some outer layers to slim everything back in. Bottom skirt material wrinkles easily and needs a steam or iron.

Holy bazongas
Runs true to size! Unless you were planning on embracing the fashion era of 80s-90s pop (no offense to the trends of nostalgic Gen Z; Millennials swiped the 1940s rationing style first after all) please take note that this will be a skin-showing crop top. I have a long torso. I also have a stomach that has not seen the sun since last summer. Got a bit of matching shades issue going on. There was no cropping of the top wanted. Ergo, I layered with a longer black base layer plus a jean jacket. Like a *true* 90s kid with a ‘00s high school stage. Besides the shortness of the shirt, I mean I knew, right? The stripes? My 32DD’s? Like, holy hanna are the girls accentuated. The horizontal stripes (which bend like an optical illusion because of my chest; so fun), shorter hem-length, plus tapered waist turn alllllll the focus on my girls. I look top heavy in a way that’s reminiscent of an impressively swole 1972 Olympics Trunchbull (iykyk). AND YET STILL. For what it is, the shirt is great. Too short for me, bunches right above the waist (forever a curse of the longer torso with certain fabrics), the chunky black hem will bleed into any matching black pants (never thought I could look like I had a short torso), but it’s a great fabric, great weight, and has some downright gorgeous colors.

Oversized but runs true to size. Works well with a longer torso. Buttons can gape a bit, especially if you got some bigger girls, but the fabric is itchy enough I can’t imagine wearing this without a base layer. HOWEVER. Call me crazy. But the itch doesn’t detract a star for me. (I know. Insane.) She’s still cozy. Warm. Little bit cardigan, little bit coatigan, could swing it on her own as a top. Got some dark moody academia vibes going on if you pair her with a messy bun and the right kind of glasses. I’d buy her. Keep her. Frame her for murder but flaunt her in the open. (Sorry. Academia thriller vibes still going on.) Solid rental.

Look. It’s a great bag. It is! Not too small, not too big. Gorgeous colors. Over the shoulder vs handheld. Plops down onto any surface and holds its upright shape like the good little bucket bag it is. But. And it’s a big but. There is no zipper. No magnetic enclosure. Just some stiff little leather straps you’re supposed to tie together to hold all your valuables in place. Ain’t nobody got time for tying. Ain’t nobody got time for unknotting whatever monstrosity you managed to twist the straps into when you were too lazy to swing a quick shoelace bow. It’s open, things be at risk of falling, you will lose all confidence in maintaining your valuables if you are in anyway whatsoever a little less than careful with setting down your purses. Oversized fit but runs true to size. Normally a size S in tops and Size 2 (US 4-6) was perfectly boxy and loose without being too large. Fabric is stiff and needs a good iron around the hems. Long enough to tuck, even with a long torso. Neckline was attractive and deep without cleavage exposure, even with a larger chest. Warning: the puffy sleeves do make it hard to pair with a jacket. Jacket sleeves will shuck the shirt’s elastic cuffs up your arms. You will lose circulation. Looked flattering on everyone in the reviews and is extremely flattering in person, too.

Size up if you want to breathe
I’ve rented Joe’s jeans before. I’m normally a 29-30, but 30 seems to be my golden comfort size across most brands. Haaaaaaaaaaaa. This size 30 fit like a Madewell 27 from some serious prior gym days that I can still squeeze myself into. IF I lay flat on my back. Flounce onto my bed and suck in with everything I’ve got, breathing out a quick prayer to the denim gods above. For details: I have a long torso, hourglass hips, Venus belly/post-3 babies mom pooch, and a somewhat decent backside. Granted, it was a new pair, tags still attached. Things loosened up the longer I wore them. They’re also short? Even at 5’7” I’ve some petite-length legs. These petites were a little too petite. Hit at an awkward angle right above my ankle. Great wash. Gave a fabulous backside. But these were standing jeans only. If I’d sized up 1-2x maybe I’d have had a more pleasant wearing experience.

Normally a size S in tops. Went with the 42 (US 4) and it was delightfully, perfectly oversized. An open second button was too high up my chest, open third too low for bra/cleavage, so I did add some double-sided fashion tape in between to get my preferred V-neck length. Styles well with a lot of options. Funky but still classy? Material is perfect for both warmer and transitional weather. She’s kind of a keeper.

Strangers complimented me
Runs a little on the small side. Normally a M or 8-10 in bottoms. Opted for the 10 and it was a good fit. I’ll be honest: I rented this one for St. Patty’s Day. Did I get to wear it for St. Patty’s Day? No. Because my side of the country decided to have a delightful icy snowstorm the day of. As much as I want to be the girl that dresses in funky patterns and playful colors, I feel like an imposter 99% of the time. So, I wasn’t sure I could swing this one on a normal day. Verdict? It’s gorgeous. Strangers complimented me. It’s silky smooth and elegant and elevated and I loved wearing it. Got a full day out of it with brunch, a movie, dinner out, AND a dessert-shopping stroll. Now, will I add it to my forever wardrobe? Yeah no. (See imposter syndrome above.) BUT it was a great rental and stylistically it works phenomenally with a variety of different combos. Rent the skirt.

Typically a size 29-30 in jeans, opted for the 30. Perfect fit. Works well with a long torso AND hourglass hips. Somehow slimming?? Which, post-3 kids rocking the mom pooch, I’ve found near impossible with jean skirts. Even when sitting down, it slid up comfortably and didn’t even dream of restricting my stomach from the massive dinner I inhaled after going a little too long post midday snacks. Runs true to size. Typically, I stay away from any top-half ruching. With a 32DD chest, that’ll catapult me into uni-boob territory fast. Don’t get me wrong; this dress is gorgeous. Perfect for spring, especially paired with a jean jacket. Absolute nightmare to iron, though, and like all the other reviewers state, the ruffles under the armpits don’t stay put. Runs a tad small? Went with Size 3 (US 8) due to availability and it fit more like a boxy S up to a M. It’s very Little House on the Prairie in a modern way. Bottom hem IS short, so beware if you’ve got a longer torso and plan to tuck. Fabric itself is very light and very breezy. SO breezy, in fact, that if there’s any wind at all, plan to have that big ol’ collar smack you in the face the rest of your day. Highly entertaining for passerby. Warning to the big bust, long torso, hourglass girlies
Couple things about this absolutely lovely knit. Because it is lovely. And I wanted to love it. And I do love it. Just not on me. This top deserves 5 stars. But I’m bigger busted (32DD) and even with the recommended sizing up from a S to a M, I needed double-sided fabric tape between two sets of buttons to keep things from gaping. The ridging also made my girls look larger than they are (depends on the look you’re going for) and because of my bust and due to bra visibility, I couldn’t open the top past that second button, which was higher up than I would have personally liked. My longer torso and hourglass figure also complicated things. The top stubbornly bunched up a few inches above my pants line when tucked, but I couldn’t leave it UN-tucked (to showcase that lovely bottom flair) because, with jeans, it hit right at that awkward spot that will always visually widen my hips. Maybe coulda worked with a skirt? I dunno. Still plan to try out a few more styling options during this rental period, but as a basic top + pants combo, it doesn’t work for me.

Would say it runs true to size. I’m a S in tops, normally size up to a M for outer layers, but went with the S this go round. Warm but very light. Long coverage but packs down. Puffy but has an adjustable waist. Zipper opens from bottom or top. What is this sorcery? I expected to hate the metallic sheen (I didn’t). I expected to hate the red fleece interior (I didn’t). HEAVY and very warm!
Runs large! Sized down from a S to XS and it was perfect. Very heavy material. All the reviews said so but still, I wasn’t expecting just how heavy. Less pullover layer, more jacket, but kinda itchy on the inside, so bare min might want to include a tank. Sleeves are long, but didn’t find them a problem. Plays well with a longer torso. The small for sure fits like a medium but it was perfect. So perfectly perfect, someone’s going to have to pry this off my body before I return it (or, you know, I could just buy it). Sign me up for every fall hike, chilly campsite, late night bonfire, and cozy winter morning with this one. As stated, it is oversized. Sleeves are extra long but I consider this a bonus. Drawstrings can be found along the sides of the interior. Fabric does pill (interior) and it’s a little scratchy there, so a layering top may be required. THE ONLY REASON I docked a star is because there are no pockets. There should be pockets. Caution if sizing down
I’m assuming it runs true to size because while I’m normally a S in tops, I went for the XS due to it being the only size available. Reviews said it was stretchy; I should’ve been fine, right? Wrong. ‘Twas a mistake. She be tight-tight. Which distorted the floral pattern along the boobs (I’m a 32DD) and gave my girls a less-than-flattering sideways look, not to mention highlighting the a lumpy-bumpies around the bra band in the back. It’s a little sheer, but the pattern hides a lot; I opted for a black bra underneath and you could barely see it. Not a huge fan of the slit up the sleeves. No warmth, so will need to layer in cooler weather. Color was gorgeous, though. Very flirty and fun.
