I was frustrated with the lack of classy, white dresses available for my bridal shower that were flattering on my silhouette, so I decided to try this blush number. Boy, am I glad I did! First of all, the pattern is extremely flattering for hourglass/pear shapes. Second, the material is forgiving and thick with a little stretch. Also, the details on the sleeves give a little nuanced cap sleeve that dresses up this otherwise classic pattern. I got so many compliments while wearing this dress!! Did I mention I paired it with a black leather jacket and felt like a bad b? I plan to buy it once my wedding is over as I already know this piece will be a classic in my closet for years to come. This was my first time wearing a Black Halo piece and I'm an instant fan. RENT THIS DRESS!

This dress is 100% worth the price of admission. As a curvy (AKA natural) woman, I tend to shy away from mermaid cuts because (I thought) they showcase my hips too much/they're difficult to walk in. This dress proved me wrong in the best way! The material is stretchy, so you're not wobbling around while walking. The placement of the seams on the sides of the dress (for the flared skirt) are complimentary to your shape in a tasteful way. And I got SO many compliments! :) My only "watch-out" for fellow renters is that while the fabric is opaque and thick(ish) and the top has an extra panel for lining, this dress tells the whole truth about your body. In other words, people may notice if you're cold if you go braless. ;-) Random notes: the dress pictured is a 42R, AKA a 6 in America; normally i wear an 8 in pants and a sm/med top. Word to the wise if you're pear-shaped: you may need some backup on top if you rent this (looks baggy otherwise) Hardware: I needed a full-waisted spanx/shaper for this as the dress was a little tight on my lower tummy/hips, just to smooth things out. I also wore silicone backless/strapless sticky cups on top based on the "watch-out" i cited above. Overall, this dress is fun, comfortable, gorgeous and will make heads turn at your party!
