Great with a gold Badgley Mischka dress
These earrings are great - went with a gold, floor-length Badgley Mischka dress that i did a separate review of. Not heavy, not too big but also not hidden in my hair either. Could be worn with hair up too (again, just the right size for either. Could also go with white/cream outfit if gold is your accent color.

Great dress in so many ways!
I rented this dress for a gala. Theme color was gold. This dress obviously fit the bill! Fits perfectly. Easy on (good for not screwing up your hairdo). Flashy but not cheap looking. Back is open but not too open - classy look. Long, but goes with 31/2 to 4 inch heels. Don't need a ton of jewelry as the dress takes care of it for you! Got lots of complements. FYI, I am 5'3", 125 lbs, athletic build. Paired with earrings from RTR (separate review)

Great earrings - paired with a rented dress and wow!
I rented these earrings and paired it with LA PETITE ROBE DI CHIARA BONI - Cassandre Sheath. Worked great! As you can tell from the pic, wear an up-do and makeup and you don't need much else (especially with this dress, which has a high neckline and long sleeves so nowhere to put other jewelry).

Great dress for a formal occasion for woman in her 30s/40s/50s
I was a little anxious about renting this dress but others' reviews (with pictures, which I didn't get any so sorry about that) convinced me to go for it. I'm 5'3" and other reviews noted that the dress was too long for them. For me, it was perfect - the hem hit right below the kneecap so it looked really nice - in fact, I think better than how it looks on the model (short). It's very comfortable to wear (although it goes over the head so you'll have to wear it and then do hair and makeup) but it might be a little hot in the summertime. The fabric ripples on the front stay in place - I wish I owned this dress. I am athletic but short/petite. Boatnecks like this do well for me because I am broad across the shoulders. I do think that if you have a cup size larger than C this dress might feel tight across the bust and might not work that well.
