I ordered the dress in long because I am 5'9" and dresses typically run short on me. I rented the 8L I am 138 lbs and The dress was a little loose and VERY long so I had to wear 3.5" heals to accommodate and I am not one for wearing high heels so my feet hurt a bit after a while. So if your not one for relatively high heels I suggest not ordering the long. But other than that it was very true to size.
