Hip-hugging, flirty look with a retro flair!
I'm a short woman with an athletic, hour-glass build and this dress fit like a glove! If you want to flaunt your curves then this is the dress to rent. It was comfortable and easy to dance in (most important at a wedding!) and I felt like a million dollars. It definitely had a Mad Men / 50's retro feel to it with the snug fit and tea-length cut. I wore short, thin spandex and a strapless bra which didn't show lines under the dress fabric.

Elegant look with a punch of pizzazz.
Pros: This dress made me feel fabulous all night! It's long style and sleeveless cut look made it an elegant choice for attending an upscale wedding. The dark color palate was also perfect for a winter event. Since the dress was such a statement piece, I didn't need to wear much jewelry. I threw on a black cashmere shawl to cover my shoulders during outdoor cocktail hour, but I also loved the dress without the shawl while seated for the wedding dinner and on the dance floor. I received a lot of compliments, and I was pleasantly surprised that I could still dance in the dress without it feeling too tight on my hips or legs. Cons: I run between a size 4 and size 6, depending upon the style and dressmaker. The size 4 in this style was slightly too small for my rib cage (I also noted that the size 4 dress I received had a lot of wear on the sequins. I was a little surprised that the size 4 dress I received hadn't been retired a few rentals back). The size 6 was ultimately the size that I chose, although it wasn't quite a "fit like a glove" cut. The very top, back clasp area of the dress hung just a little loosely on my upper back and my waist wasn't hugged by the fabric as much as I liked the size 4. That being said - it still fit well and didn't pose any style or functionality issues while dancing and having a good time. One other thing to note is that the upper chest and armpit areas of the dress can be itchy and cause some skin irritation - but that comes with the territory of wearing sequins for 5+ hours and dancing. It wasn't a huge issue, but definitely noticeable (not to others, just to myself) at the end of the evening.

Flirty and sexy look, made classic as a LBD and pearls.
LOVED this dress! I'm not usually one to play around with different cuts at the arm or shoulder, but as soon as I tried on this dress I knew that it would be a fun night. I wore this for a fancy dinner to meet new friends, and later on in the evening a wedding reception. I paired it with pearl studded earrings and ankle-high 2-inch heeled black boots with white floral embroidery. The dress had a classic high collar and long, Shakespearean-style sleeves that added a modern 70's look. I received a ton of compliments throughout the night, and people wondering where I got the dress. I contemplated buying the dress, but ultimately decided to return it. I would definitely rent it again in the future!
