I normally wear an 8 in dresses, and the 8 fit perfectly. The material is thick with stretch to it, so it has a smoothing effect. I didn't need any undergarments. I got a lot of compliments in this dress. I wore my hair down, so the slits in the front and the open back weren't something that people noticed right away, but it added another sexy dimension to the dress when they did! I wore it to a wedding, and I would imagine it would be perfect for a gala type event as well. I am 5'10", and it hit right at my knees.

I was a little nervous to rent this dress for a daytime wedding that I was attending because everyone else on here said that they had worn it to work events in the reviews. I am so glad that I did rent it! It is gorgeous and totally appropriate for a wedding. It's constructed of quality material and looks expensive. I think I received more compliments on this dress than I've ever received. Even the concierge at the hotel I was staying at asked where I got my dress. RTR, I think you have a lot of business coming your way:) I ordered the size 6 and would've ordered the 8 as backup if it had been available, but the 6 fit perfectly. There's a little stretch to it so it is really comfortable and easy to wear. I was lucky to get this dress in time to also wear it to a work function(hey, just trying to fit in with the other girls!:) ), and I felt like it was appropriate for that as well. This is a very versatile dress, and I would definitely recommend renting it if you have the chance. It's going to be very hard to send it back tomorrow! Also, I wanted to mention that this is my first experience with RTR, and the customer service and the whole process was just amazing. My closet is going to start to feel neglected because I'm renting for everything from now on!

I ordered the 46, which says it is a US size 8. I normally wear a 6 or an 8, and I was swimming in this! I probably could have gone two sizes down, maybe even 3. If you are considering renting, definitely order a smaller size. Also, I wanted to mention that this dress isn't overly fancy, so I think it would have been perfect for the day-time wedding I wanted to wear it to. You could certainly dress it up more with accessories.
