I rated this a 4/5 to be fair. My experience deserved a lower rating, but I think the dress is worth at least 4 stars for a normal person. I rented this dress for a wedding we were attending because it came up when I filtered by third trimester in the maternity category. This is my first baby and I'm told all the time by people that I'm small. I wore it at seven and a half months pregnant, and I have to say it did not work well for someone in their third trimester. I normally wear a size 6 so I ordered a 6 and an 8, and ended up needing the 8. (I think a 10 would have been too big on the lace top.) It bunched around the waist on the sides and back, and in order for the belt not to fall in a weird place on my stomach, I folded the skirt under the belt once. It was a pain to keep it in place all afternoon and it didn't look right. I got a lot of compliments on the dress, but I felt self-conscious because I knew it didn't look right. Had I not been pregnant, I think the 6 would have been the right size and I would have been happy with the style.

I am a solid size 6, and originally ordered the size 6L and had the 8L as backup. After reading the reviews a few days before my event, I started freaking out about the dress being too small. I tried changing the sizes I ordered to an 8L and 10L because I have a big ribcage. Thank goodness RTR didn't have a 10L in stock because I ended up needing the 6L after all. The dress is so heavy that the 8L was sliding off me, but it was still tight so it was hard to pull up. The 6L was really tight, but didn't look to be, and it stayed up a lot better. I couldn't take deep breaths throughout the night, but such is life when you are a woman trying to fit into a beautiful gown. It was so worth it. I had so many women compliment me, and some told me "we were all talking about how gorgeous your dress is!" I definitely stood out in a sea of outdated dresses and black cocktail dresses. It felt amazing. I wore the Ella Carter Ashley necklace with it. Now, the length. I am 5'10 and was wearing 4" heels. You can't tell in this photo because it was windy, but the dress dragged on the ground. I couldn't believe it; I never have that problem. I lifted the front when I walked so I wouldn't trip, which worked fine. I would rather it be too long than too short, and it was only about .5-1" too long. I am really disappointed that RTR doesn't do a quality control check on their dresses before sending them out; I had to have a seamstress put a hook and eye on the dress because it was missing, and it was really hard to zip it without something holding the top together.

First of all, I managed to forget to take a picture of me alone. That being said, you can see in one of my photos that my boobs were squished flat. The fit of this dress was very small. I am a solid 6 in clothing, and this dress was too small for me in an 8. To give you an idea, I wear a 6 or S/M at Express, Limited, Victoria's Secret, and I'm probably a 4 at Gap and Old Navy. I have a pretty big rib cage and broad shoulders, but I could barely breathe in this dress, and I had marks left on my skin for hours after I took it off. I wish I would have ordered an 8 and a 10 for this party, because the 10 probably would have fit me. However, the dress is gorgeous and I loved wearing it. I highly recommend it. On a side note, my shoes were from Aldo.
