I ended up not wearing this dress and sent it back right away. The fit was spot on, I rented a size 10. It skimmed over my stomach and hips. The waist was not tight. I’m just not 100% on the smocking as a 40+ year old woman. I could have added a belt to highlight my waist, but I didn’t want to add an accessory to this beautiful dress.

As others have shared, the neck is high and thick. However, the overall look and fit are great. Rented size L and felt it fit well. Decided not to wear because it would have been too hot. Possibly too heavy of a material for the short sleeved design.

Like others have suggested, the fullness in the back is an odd fit. This is especially true if you have fuller hips. The front structure is great, tailored as you expect from VB. Colors and material lovely. Possibly something to skip if you are looking for a sleeker look.
