The color and fabric of this dress are great. The material is thick enough that spanx are not necessary. I ordered an 8 because I'm quite busty (32I cup size) but a six probably would have fit the rest of my body better - I had some extra room around the hips and waist. This is pretty consistent with what I usually wear. I'm 5'3 and the dress hit me right above the knee.
