Curvy girls should size up...a lot

I had looked forward to wearing this dress for months. Unfortunately, I hadn't thoroughly read the reviews or I would have known that the very important underskirt part of the dress is very fitted (VERY fitted) and I couldn't even pull the underskirt over my 14 sized hips, even with getting Spanx involved. Size up if you are remotely curvy!

Loved the strapless look with tiny sleeves!

This is the first strapless dress I haven't had to tug up all night long. Hurray! Now the not great part: the skirt would occasionally get caught in my own heel while walking, and the plastic boning underneath one arm poked my side the whole time I wore the dress.

So elegant and classic

Wore this to a military ball and I think it was perfect for that. The gown is just beautiful and was really very comfortable. I wore the dress with 3" heels, and the dress did not cover the shoes, but I think that's for the best because if it really was floor-length, you'd be stepping on your own dress with every step you took! The one not-fabulous part about this dress was the way it seemed to minimize my chest. I haven't felt like I needed a padded bra in a dress since middle school, but looking at this photo, I think that's exactly what this dress needed! Otherwise, it's a beautiful dress and I'm very glad to have gotten it this time from RTR.

pretty dress from waist down

This was a backup dress, so I didn't end up wearing it. I very much liked the sash and the skirt on the dress; they were very pretty and exactly what I'd hoped. But the top was a little odd...something about the cut of the shoulders and chest, I think. It makes it very tricky to wear a bra of any type and yet without a bra, the top of the dress is not going to be flattering.

Beautiful but rather small

Couldn't fit my phone (a small Android, not even one of the bigger Notes or new iPhones) in this AND try to keep it closed with the clasp. Forget about keeping lipstick in it as well. It could hold just the lipstick and ID and close, but I just ended up leaving it unclasped so that I could have my phone in case the babysitter needed to reach me. But it was absolutely beautiful and complements the dress I wore (which had black and gold sequins).

so gorgeous!

This dress was gorgeous in every way. It was mostly comfortable (not hugely comfy sitting on sequins and beads, and slightly itchy where sequins rub against tender spots like underarms and cleavage but otherwise) and hugely flattering. I am very pear-shaped and normally wouldn't dream of going Spanxless for a party dress, but this dress required zero shapewear and I never even once regretted having left the Spanx at home. Got so many compliments on the dress from fellow party guests, most of whom were not obliged to say nice things (like husband and friends).

Spectacular

This was my backup dress and it was a little too big on me, so I did not end up wearing it to the holiday party after all. But I would love to try it (in the right size) for next year's party! And as others have noted, this is very much a rose gold in person. Absolutely beautiful dress!

lovely dress, but not intended for the pear-shaped crowd. :(

No give in fabric. Yes, sizing up allows a less sausage fit across hips and bottom, but the larger size adds an unflattering amount of length to the skirt.

Loved the dress, loved how easy RTR made it all.

the skirt lining was a little snugger than I had hoped, meaning the skirt rode up quite a lot when/if I sat in the dress. The size 8 fit the rest of me better than the size 10, but the lining fit meant the size 10 skirt was a more appropriate length for a family wedding. Glad to have had the belt to help define the waist a bit more on the size 10. I'm a pear-shaped petite and this dress was overall quite nice.
