I am often a 4, sometimes a 6, and based on the reviews (especially the ones that mention the waist and chest room) opted for the 6 because I don't want it gaping open too much in the back to accommodate my D sized chest. Also, there is zero give in the waist of the material in general. Also, there's also the matter of the waist's location, which is very specific. I didn't want it riding up empire-style. The 6 is the perfect fit on me. (For reference, my waist measures a 27 although I often wear 26 or even 25 jeans.) I wore it to a party at my dance studio and it was the perfect combination of sexy, classy, and comfy. You can definitely rock it as eveningwear with a stiletto, but you can also pair it with any kind of boot or shoe, even a nice white sneaker. I showed up at the studio in it with white combat boots (before exchanging them for dance heels). In cooler weather, you can wear this dress with a fun jacket in almost any color. I paired it with a light camel micro suede blazer. Or even a denim or moto jacket, or a shawl--it's really versatile.

This is a nice dress and I would say it runs completely true to size. I am between a 4 and a 6 and went with the 4, so, phew. I wore it to dinner and a concert at a local museum. The reason I took a star off is the ruching around the midsection results in an extra few folds of material around the waist that I don't love. They show up on the model photo as well, but I didn't realize they would be so obvious on me. Oh well--it's still a really solid choice!

I commend everyone who was able to sing this dress's praises, but this was a lose for me. If I were the kind of person who could get away with wearing a baggy minidress as a tunic with pants, maybe? But, I am not--especially with a garment this plain. And I'm not even tall, so I can't understand how this was WAY too short for me. I mean, even with black tights! Did it shrink? And also, it's shaped like a Hefty bag around the middle! Oh well.

I'm wearing this exclusively with the houndstooth side out because it's so cute. This sweater hands nicely and is the perfect length. It's not too tight on the chest for those of us who like to avoid that look. I love it as casualwear with cropped jeans and cream ankle boots or black bell-bottom Levi's and sneakers, but with a cream-colored maxi skirt and black boots for a night out, it would probably look even better!

This was a go-to for me on days when it wasn't too cold. I wore it to the ballet, the grocery store, on dog walks, etc. It's well made and I liked that the sleeves were a a teeny bit short without looking silly . But I didn't love it quite enough to buy it because, while very serviceable, it's shapeless and kind of swallowed me up.

I was so excited about the interesting color scheme in this plaid dress: brown, plum, white. And I was unsure whether to get the 6 or the 4, as my last size 4 RTR dress was unwearably tight! So, I went for the 6 and all I can say is, if you like a generous cut in the midsection then this is the dress for you but unfortunately, it's all wrong for me. The extra material around the middle just droops. I think it's a bit disportionate in that way, and even my unopinionated husband said it looks a bit off. But I will try and work with it by cinching it with a wide white belt and pairing with white boots for a salsa social. Hey, it's March in the Northeast--anything goes!

I wore this with light-wash baggy jeans to a dance social and got lots of compliments on it! It's thin and breezy but opaque, excellent quality, and felt SO good on--especially compared with all the heavy winter layers I've been forced to live in these days. Because of the generous cut, I think it might be hard to keep tucked in so I wore it untucked. Really comfy and cute.

I love how this sweater is worn in the photo, but I am not as tall and slender so for the first time wearing it I went the cautious route with jeans and sneakers. I found it to run a bit large around the middle, so if you want to show off your waist you can size down and rock it with a belt and leggings!
