On the model, it hits just below the knee, but on me it hit the bottom of my calf, which is an awkward spot for me. The skirt is a circle skirt, so there isn't a clean way to temporarily hem it.

Looks great in a photograph but I can't pull off fabric this stiff. A little long in the torso. Due to the fabric and length, when I sat down, the straps elevated off my shoulders and hovered around my ears.

This would look great on a taller person and/ or if it were shaped just a bit at the waist, but I don't have the height to balance so much visual width at the chest and shoulders and I looked like a dorm fridge.

colorful, comfortable dress
My bust and waist measurements are 36 and 29 inches, respectively, and I would have expected to wear a size 8 in this dress. The 8 was too big but the 6 fit well. There was a little extra room at the bust, but it was probably imperceptible to anyone but me, and I was still able to forgo a bra. There is boning in the bodice and a waist stay for added support, so I wasn't constantly hitching it up like can happen with some strapless dresses. This also necessitated that another person hook and zip me into the dress. The hem hit higher above my knees than I usually wear, so I paired it with flats. Perfectionists take note -- my rental was showing its age and the boning at the top of the bodice was pushing up the white lining and making a sliver of lining visible above the top of the bodice. It didn't bother me but might bother some. I would rent this again and recommend it to others.

modern, comfortable dress
The halter neck makes this dress easy to customize. I have a short torso, and got a perfect fit by not using the buttons that fasten the straps together, and instead pulling them tighter and safety pinning them together. The pockets are nice, but too shallow to use in lieu of a purse. The fabric of the dress is heavy, but leaves lots of skin exposed, so this would be appropriate in most seasons. I was able to wear a regular strapless bra with this dress and the bra did not show. I am 5'3 and the hem was above the knee, but not nearly as short as it is on the model. My measurements are 36-29-39, and I ordinarily wear a size 8 but because the skirt is full, I wore a size 6. This would have been a 5 star dress, but I took off a star because both dresses I received had a foul odor. I notified rent the runway, so hopefully this issue is resolved.
