This fit was very flattering and worked great for my body type, however I am 5'5 and the straps were too long on me. I ended up tucking them in and wearing it as a strapless dress! Prepare for this if you are a shorter girl, or use bobby pins to shorten the straps. 

Fit was great, the only thing that bothered me was the straps kept trying to fall down. Beautiful, well made dress. 

The dress fit perfect beside the unadjustable straps were slightly big. 

I rented this for a November wedding.  I rented the 4, and sized up for my backup. Unfortunately I was right between the two sizes--the 6 had much longer straps that were falling off, and the 4 squeezed my underarms. I picked the tighter option so I didn't have to worry about flashing anyone. No bra required, and pockets were a huge bonus. I love the fabric--I called my outfit modern goth Victorian. Great rental, would totally keep it if I could. 

I couldn't speak more highly of this dress! Corset like feel to the top with flowy skirt. It was a perfect length (being tall I often find similar styles too short), the material was thick and comfortable so I didn't need a bra, and it had pockets!!! 

I'd echo what the others said in terms of the straps falling every so often, but it really wasn't a big issue and I'd happily rent it again. 

A great dress to wear with or without heals.  She really liked the pockets and and dark color blue.  The straps are a huge issue if you on the smaller bust size.  We had to go a bigger size dress so that we could cinch the straps up at least 4 inches.  I'm sure if you had a bigger chest the straps would not be an issue.  Overall my daughter loved the dress and rental price was great!  

The dress was very flattering & elegant. I got many complements about the waistline and the bodice; it fit & flared at just the right point to give my otherwise "straight and narrow" shape a little bit of curve.  The only downside was that the straps fell off the shoulder repeatedly throughout the night.

This dress is very comfortable and the quality fabric makes it versatile for casual or formal events. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it has pockets! Unfortunately, the straps were way too long. I used safety pins to shorten them so they would stay up. I would be prepared to do some self-altering to the straps like I did if you choose to rent this dress. 

Great for a wedding, got tons of compliments! 

The straps a little long. They fell off from my shoulders from time to time. But it was a little tight on the boobs so the dress was holding up perfectly. I love the dress, it's very high quality. Nice black & blue color coordination. Perfect for an event or date night, if you want to look elegant and stylish 

Loved this dress! Super glamorous. No bar needed. Straps were long but I didn't have to pin, just adjusted them higher on my shoulders every once and awhile. 

This dress was very nice. It was my backup dress that I ended up wearing to a Valentine's Day wedding in 2014. The color is a very dark blue/navy that works great with a black shawl or black shoes. The dress was comfortable and even had pockets. The thick fabric was very helpful for the cold weather. 

The material of this dress was way heavier than I expected, and I think it ultimately affected the way the lower part of the dress draped. It looked extremely unflattering in the front. May not be suitable for those with straighter hips. The straps were also very long, but shortening them would not solve the fit of the skirt portion of the dress. It looks fine from the side and back, but very awkward in the front. I did not end up wearing it.

It has pockets! Who doesn't love that! Worn by my teen daughter for a school dance. Fits slightly on the small side. Thick fitted material did not require a bra. Straps are very long and had to be pinned to be wearable. Mix of front and back side of fabric for different parts of the dress was an interesting subtle detail

I absolutely fell in love with this dress! I am pretty petite with a bigger bust and it's hard to find dresses that fit well. The only downfall was the straps, as they are weirdly long. I had to make them shorter by pinning them down in the back. The pockets were great for holding my chapstick! Best part is no bra is needed for this dress. Very supportive and forgiving dress! Wish I could keep it! 

Cute & fun. I'm giving 4 stars because the straps were so long. They fell down all night. I still had so many compliments and felt cute all night. If you are large up top you will need a strapless bra as the top panel is quite low. On the best side POCKETS!!! Loved them. 

 This dress is made from a satiny navy blue fabric with back velvet detailing, it looks and feels so luxurious. I felt like a princess and received many compliments on the dress. It is very fitted at through the bust, ribs, and waist and then widens out (perfect for small-waisted gals with regular/wide hips).

Flattering fit but definitely runs small, especially if you're busty! Overall it was the perfect dress for my friend's wedding and I had lots of fun dancing the night away in it!

This dress was okay, the straps were very long and I had to keep adjusting them, besides that the dress was very comfortable 

This dress was comfortable, true to size, and it had POCKETS! Lol which was awesome not having to go into my purse constantly. It does have a nice pattern which is hard to see in the picture, and I did have to pin the straps as they were a little long (that's the only reason I'm not giving it the 5th star). 

I rented this for my 15 year old daughter's homecoming and it worked perfectly.  Reading the reviews, I expected the straps to be too long and they are, but with careful and thorough pinning, the dress fit beautifully.  She received tons of compliments and found it very easy to dance in.  The pockets were super helpful to keep her phone.  She looked gorgeous! 

The picture doesn't do the fabric or color of the dress justice. It is a beautiful blue and black contrasting pattern and is gorgeous. The straps were definitely too long, but otherwise the fit was perfect. We had to pin about 4" of each strap, but in my opinion it was worth it for a well-priced rental, and definitely not noticeable at all. My daughter loved the pockets so she didn't need to carry a purse. She was very comfortable all night. Lastly, she didn't wear a bra, but she put some padding and then used tattoo tape (our best friend for any formal occasion) to have the dress fall nicely against her chest. I have personally rented dresses several times for myself, but this was a first for my daughter. She is a ballerina with long legs and a thin profile. After having read other reviews I decided to take the chance and I am so glad that I did! 

Absolutely adored this dress. Incredibly comfortable, didn't even have to wear a bra! Biggest flaw: straps way too long as other reviewers noted. I had to use a bracelet to tie it together at the top under my hair. Fabric is high quality and beautiful in person. Wish I owned this dress and had the straps altered :) 

My daughter is just 13, but I can imagine this dress would work for a range of ages. She is a competitive swimmer (5'-10" tall with broad shoulders and rib cage on an otherwise small frame). The 8 fit perfectly!

This dress was so flattering and the color and detail was just beautiful. I've never felt so classy!  The best dress to wear for a classy San Francisco wedding!

It fit like a glove, i loved that it has pockets!!! The only bad part is, the straps are long so you have to pin them. Other than that i was very pleased!

I loved wearing this dress and it lots of compliments. It's hard to see from the pics but there are two different patterns and they are both beautiful. It felt perfect for a wedding.

Overall fit true to size but as everyone else stated, the straps are so long, I had to pin them about 3-4 inches to make it work! The dress was a great length for a formal wedding and I loved the pattern. Would rent this dress again. 

The picture doesn't really show the details of the dress, but it's a great baroque pattern that goes well for a night out at a party. 

Gorgeous fabric on this dress! It's hard to see in photos, but visible in person. It's a black and very dark blue. I love dresses with thick fabric. I'm 5'7, about 115 and I'm fairly certain I ended up wearing the size 0. The straps were definitely long. I pinned them before leaving the house, but I couldn't get it to stay pinned when sitting down and getting pulled, so they just ended up being droopy. The dress still stayed up due to a tighter fit in the torso. You can see the straps that are loose in my car photo. Overall, pretty party dress! 

I wore this dress for my schools winter gala, and it was amazing! Like others said, the straps were long. 

fits very well, straps a little long, great thick fabric.  

The fit was great for my hourglass shape - small in the waist with plenty of room in the hips. I ordered a size up from my usual size to make sure it was comfortable. I'd say the fit is somewhere between small and true-to-size. The straps - as many have mentioned - were really long, but a couple of safety pins on each side kept them where they belong. I had to use big safety pins due to how thick the material is, but was able to pin them inside the dress so they weren't visible. The material is very thick but does have a little bit of give so it fits and flatters really well.

The pockets were a great added bonus! I rented this for my company holiday party, where all the employees get to perform at a music venue. I spent the evening running on and off stage, playing instruments, etc, and the dress was so comfortable I didn't have to spend any time adjusting it. I was able to keep the set list in the pocket so I had a copy all night. 

This was my backup dress, but the fit and fabric were so great, I'm glad I got it and chose to wear this one instead!

This was my first RTR dress and the reason I use this site so often! Overall flattering fit, perfect length, and photographs well. The material has a cool pattern and very rich color that I was complimented on all night. I wore this to a friend's Sweet 16, so I danced all night. This dress was easy to move in and wasn't restricting at all (didn't ride up/down, squeeze, or cinch weird). The one problem I had was that the straps were too long (probably because I have a small chest)- but it was an easy fix with a couple of safety pins. Would definitely recommend this dress.

I rented it for a mad men themed party. The fabric of the dress even matched the background of the photo booth! I wore it with a tulle petticoat underneath for extra poof, and a pair of long white gloves. There are a couple of little issues with the dress: 1) the straps are too long so I had to safety pin them -- for reference, I am 5'5" with an average length torso; 2) the dress runs large. I wore the 6 (backup was a 8), but would be better off in a 4. 

Straps may have been the tiniest bit long but they managed to stay on my shoulders. Pockets were awesome for my phone and the dress was so comfortable. 

I originally was going to go with the size 6 fit, but it ended up being a little bit too loose in the bust area, especially the straps. Someone must have altered the straps on the size 4 and it fit perfectly. Very comfortable all night and the pockets were amazing. Would definitely recommend this dress! And definitely order a backup size in the next size up!

It has pockets on the side seams! So awesome! Okay, it is also gorgeous. Nice heavy brocade fabric. Looks like RTR had tried to take up the shoulder straps but still needed to pin them up another 3/4 of an inch. Lots of compliments. :-)
