Lightweight cotton, buttons down off to side and bottom is pointed so it feels a little off but looks cute. 

It’s a cute dress and comfortable. Looks rather flattering due to the cut. If the colors were more vibrant I think it would be a 10! 

Loved this dress so much I have rented the same style in a different color.  Such a unique line, super flattering but work appropriate.  Wore all day at the office and to my son's graduation.  

This dress was really cute and was perfect for a hot day in Rome. It was a little tight to squeeze over my hips (I am a curvy, athletic build) but it still fit perfectly once on. I did have to unbutton the bottom two buttons to climb any stairs, and there are a lot of stairs in the Colosseum and all throughout Rome. Haha. It was not a problem though and honestly, the bottom 2 buttons could have stay unbuttoned and it would look fine that way too. It is a bit long for someone short like me, but it still looked super cute. 

I have an athletic figure (minimal curves) and sadly this dress did not help.  The length was off for me too.  Veronica Beard is usually my jam but this one wasn't a hit.

Wore shopping. Just an everyday kinda dress. 

I did not experience any of the negative issues in other reviews. It did keep the bottom button undone so I could walk normally. There were no problems with the skirt and using the bathroom, I did not have to take it down from the top like a romper (as another reviewer experienced). 

This dress is so flattering. I wore it 3 times including a school function and a patio dinner with friends. It was comfortable, cool and classy. 

I am glad I followed the recommendations and ordered a size up. The 6 fit well, but even then I had to step into it and pull it up, if I put it on over my head it couldn’t make it over my hips, which aren’t very wide. It looked great on and perfect for a beautiful spring day of wine tasting, but was a little difficult to walk in because it’s extremely narrow at the knees. For that same reason, be prepared to have to unbutton and unzip the dress and pull it all the way down to pee, like you would with a jumpsuit, something I usually try to avoid with clothing since I have a tiny bladder. I may rent again this spring or summer, but would look at other options first.

I wore this dress on my daughter’s moving up ceremony and it didn’t disappoint. The dress is both sexy and classy. I received so many compliments from family and friends. 

I wore this dress for Easter weekend and out doing a little bit of light shopping. It fit as expected, doesn’t stretch much which is ok, and I like the length (5’10”). Felt dressed up, but not overly. 

Love Veronica  Beard and this casual look is nice.  Do not love the mattress type ticking print, but the cut is so flattering-sizing with this brand is a challenge.  Size 8 too large in this one size 8 in another too tight or just right. Im

This is a versatile dress that can be worn casually or dressed up. The ruching detail gives you curves and highlights your features. 

Loved the unique style of this dress!  Fit a little loose but flattering.  Styled with a cognac belt, heels and purse.  Great casual dress for the office. 

I received a size recommendation of a size 4 and it was too big 

Really loved the fit of this dress except it was a little too tight at the knees. Was hesitant to try as I thought it night not fit at all. But it was great and very comfy. Didn't realize it had a zipper in addition to buttons, which was a nice touch. Felt like this is a dress that can easily be dressed up with boots as I wore or white sneakers. 

Wore this on vacation in Mexico — fit just right with the right undergarments. Buttons were a little slippery, but mostly held well. Some bras I tried created pulling at the bust. Liked it overall! A cute, interesting, casual dress for vacation.

I wanted this to work but it was large on the top and snug on the bottom. It really needed a belt but looked awkward on me with one. I ended up not wearing it. 

Pros
The combination of a buttondown with a va-va-voom style is a hit. High quality fabric and construction make this a dress that is both comfortable and flattering. The lower half is lined and the ruching both looks great and masks bloating. This is a variation on a style that is ideal for hourglass figures but will work on other body types too.

Tip
The buttons on the bottom open, if your stride is confined by the pencil cut just undo a button and walk at your natural stride. 

Wore this to work & felt professional. A true pencil skirt and I ended up unbuttoning the bottom button so walking was easier. There was something about the shoulders that made me feel like I had wings... 

If I was a baller I'd buy this dress in every color! Soooo flattering.

This dress fit like a glove! It hugged in all the right places. I felt like a million bucks! Great for my networking happy hour. Note: this is a mostly cotton blend, so you will need to iron or steam it before wearing so you don't look disheveled. 

This dress is flattering all around. It fits comfortably and TTS. I love how the shoulder hangs over the arm and the print of the dress. It's like the perfect tailored shirt dress. Super cute & would rent again. 

The unique buttons on this make it something different for work. I also wore it to a nice dinner.

I got this for a couple of daytime events on vacation in California and I absolutely loved wearing this. It's very figure flattering and I got a lot of compliments on the style. 

The offline button down style made it fun and different. I really liked it. My client said it matched the house I was showing her so we snapped this photo. 

Cons: narrow at knees, bunchy around midsection 

I asked my hubby if I should buy it and he said not this one. 

Highly recommended for the office on non suit days. Would also work well for an outdoor event like a fundraiser. Needs a steam out of the bag but worth it. 

Great light dress for spring or summer. The pencil was really small though so walking around a lot was challenging. 

Although I usually do well with Veronica Beard, this was a miss for a few reasons. It runs a little big, the fabric was too stiff for the ruching & it’s an awkward length for me. Not really my color palette either. Wore it with sneakers while working from home and it was just as loose/comfy as sweats. Probably better for a taller person.

soft fabric. a twist on a classic shirt dress. beware the bottom is a true pencil skirt with no stretch so be prepared to take small steps. great for an office day or dinner.
