I started using Rent the Runway because I had an award ceremony and a wedding in the same month and needed something special to wear. After that, I got hooked. I go to the opera with my mom often, and I always need a great dress. Renting has completely changed the experience for me — it’s simply more fun to walk in wearing a beautiful Ulla Johnson dress. It’s taken the stress out of getting dressed up and added a little joy to every event.

The Ottilie Dress by Ulla Johnson is an absolute standout—romantic, lightweight, and beautifully detailed. The fabric drapes effortlessly, and the soft pleating gives it that signature Ulla Johnson movement that feels both feminine and elevated. The fit is flattering without being tight, and the subtle volume in the sleeves adds just the right amount of drama. I felt polished but still comfortable all day, and the dress transitions easily from day events to a night out. Truly one of those rentals that makes you feel special the moment you put it on.

This dress can for from casual to dressy. 

Wore this to a daytime garden party and it struck the right note. Lots of fabric but the material kept me cool. Sleeves hit like a cap sleeve

So so cute, perfect fit for a growing belly. For reference I am 4.5 months pregnant and went up one size. Wear to work, dinner, baby shower, etc. 

A little low cut for business casual but I just wore a nude cami under it and that helped!

I loved the colors and the shirt-dress style of this dress. The sleeves killed it for me though a too poofy, and they stick out almost like you’re wearing shoulder pads. When I look at the photo it doesn’t look that bad but I tried it on a few times and just couldn’t get past it. I didn’t end up wearing it. 

Vibrant beautiful pattern, easy styling. I wore this for a date, bridal shower and to work, would definitely rent again! Bubble sleeves do give ” 90s church dress” but they’re not overpowering.  Lots of compliments.

Loved this dress and got so many compliments! The puffy sleeves are a bit much but otherwise it’s great. It also has pockets so that’s always a win. Thought about keeping it but more than I want to spend. Fit me great.

Based on the great reviews, I was excited to finally get my hands on this dress but was surprised that the material felt like a swimsuit? It swished when I walked. The puffy sleeves also felt a bit excessive for an already loud print. Wore it to work, got zero compliments, wouldn’t rent again.

This was a bit much for work with the puffed sleeves, but wanted to wear it once. I think it would be great for a spring or summer party though!
Don’t love the crunchy material. Loved trying something new though!

I love this little dress. I wore it a couple of times on a trip with my husband - once out to dinner and once to a group event with his coworkers! So cute! Tons of compliments.

I wore this dress twice while on vacation.  The first time was while exploring Venice, Italy.  The second time was during dinner in Las Vegas.   The dress fit perfectly and the colors really pop!  It was the heaviest of the 7 dresses I took in vacation, but it was worth it!

I wore this for an Easter cookout and then all weekend long. So cute and comfortable. 

This dress fit well, flower easily and cleaned easily. I wore it twice!

Wore to two separate engagements in two different climates and it was the perfect spring dress. Would have bought if less expensive. Compliments were as bountiful as the flowers on the print. Super comfortable over- the-head dress. 

This dress was so comfortable and easy to wear during an all day conference I was speaking at. I received so many compliments on the beautiful print and style. Highly recommend!
