I'm so glad that I've read the reviews! I sized down and it fits pretty well. My shoulders are broad and i can still fit in a size 4. The belt is quite annoying tho, it gets loose as I was walking.

This dress felt cool, comfortable and versatile. It worked with heels and fine jewelry for a serious meeting in the office, and dressed down with platform loafers and glasses for a more lowkey day.  
Cons: 
- It wrinkled very easily. Steamed it multiple times. - Not lined which made it feel a little sloppy for such a structured cut
- Neckline felt bare. It's just a flat seamed v-neck. For some reason I found it hard to work with given the other elements of the dress

Fun asymmetrical dress. Someone asked if I had  misbuttoned it though. Haha. 

Great fit! Asymmetrical hem didn't seem exaggerated enough to look like it was purposely done. Had to roll the sleeves four times to get the right length. 

Loved the thickness of the fabric and it didn't wrinkle as easily as I would have assumed. 
Tie is really easy to make into a bow. 

I love this dress!!! I will rent again. It is comfortable but the fabric has nice weight to show of the structure/cut of the design. Love the modern cut.

Bias cut hemline, wide sash, top-stitched sleeves, shawl collar and all in a better quality fabric--this shirtdress from Tibi is anything but basic. 

Runs very large.  More of a summer and spring dress but I was able to pair with a sweater for early fall look

I liked the dress, but rented for work and probably a bit too short as I'm 5' 10. The material is thicker than I anticipated, but overall a nice dress. 

This dress runs a little large so go with your smaller size!  The belt detail and uneven hem made this not your typical shirt dress.  It was comfortable and great for work!

It's big for a 4: I usually wear a size 6 and this fit me comfortably in a 4. 

Loved the fabric and enjoyed wearing this.  Had it in mind for a Saturday afternoon gathering, but the weather turned too cold for that day so I surprised myself and wore it to work with heels instead.  Many compliments! Warning though, because the hem is asymmetrical, people may keep pointing this out to you or suggesting you miss-buttoned it- I ended up checking to make sure several times.

I agree with the other reviewers that you should size down. I'm a 4/6 top and a 6/8 bottom, depending on cut. I did find that the bottom button around my thighs was a bit tight,but the top was already too boxy and big that I couldn't have sized up. I included a shot of the top of it to show the cut of the neck and that it was a bit boxy (almost diner waitress like). Not great for me, but probably great for others. 


Nice material, great details, very well made dress. I really like the uneven hemline. I have a very big bust and the top button was a struggle, but the rest of the dress fit great and would look good on many different sizes. Was a bit uncomfortable, I was fixing my belt all day. Also sleeves were long. Overall solid dress for work. Looks better in person than pics. 

Fits well, very appropriate for work.  The only reason hat I gave this four stars was that I walked home from work in it (about a mile) with a heavy coat, which made it rub my skin and gave me a rash because it's not very soft. Rash went away, but don't wear this to run any marathons!!

I LOVE that it has pockets!!! Fits true to size. It wrinkles easily after sitting and the material is a bit thick (so not too fun to wear on a humid day in NY). It was fun to wear to work -- lots of compliments on feminine menswear.

The dress looked more fun on the website. I found the waistband slightly awkward and just ended up tying in a ribbon on the side. It has pockets, a win! Towards the end of the day though, this reminded me of a hospital gown. I probably wouldn't rent this again. The fit is fine though.

This dress runs large, but it had a unique shape to it. Great to pair with sneakers for work. I would not recommend ordering this dress. The wrinkles on this dress did not come out and the dress wrinkled easily. 

The fabric is stiffer than I expected, but I really liked it.  Also, the fabric is thicker than it appears in the photos.  

A little big on top if small chested but otherwise a great fit and I got a lot of compliments at work! Wore with heels for a work meeting but could definitely wear with sneakers too. 

I really like this dress, so much so that I was considering buying it. It's easy to wear, with a thicker material than it may appear to be in photos, so it's not sheer. It was a tad big (probably could have sized down)

I love this dress. The material is a thick, breathable cotton. It is super comfortable, stylish, and runs true to size. I would buy this if I could.

Fit was kind and the fabric was hi quality. Did wrinkle but to be expected with cotton twill. Classy and comfortable.

I rented this as I was having cosmetic surgery and needed a button up outfit.  This dress was amazing.  I had to order up but when tied it looked adorable.  I received sooo many compliments.  It's a bit too short for work but would be great for a day of errands or a casual event.


I'm normally a 4 and sized down to a 2 and that was definitely the right call. The 2 was slightly too big up top (but I have this issue with most tops and dresses due to my pear shaped body) and fit perfectly at the bottom. I received so many compliments and I love how simple yet sophisticated this dress is. I wish I could own it but the price tag is too high. This might be my favorite rental from RTR Unlimited so far. The material is on the thicker side and very work appropriate. I paired the dress with silver heels from Tibi as well. Rent it in a size smaller than you normally would, you won't regret it! 

This is a great dress.  I am a petite so it ran a little big, net time I would get a smaller size.

Petites, this dress will fit you well (I'm 5'2" and was very happy with the length). The material is somewhat heavy (to me, that's a good thing) and I loved the pockets. 

I usually wear a 0 or 2, so based on the other reviews I took a size 0. It fit well and looked great. The only con was that the fabric is very thick, so even though it's a short dress I was kind of hot, and had a bit of trouble rolling up the sleeves. Also I didn't realize that it has an asymmetrical hem!

Originally ordered my normal size 6 and it was way too large! Ended up trading it in for a size 4, which fit perfectly. Definitely size down with this piece!! 
Very comfortable and flattering! The tie would come undone here and there so would have to readjust but great piece overall. 

Ok dress. Not as cute live- the dress runs big but the belt is small. It was almost "crunchy" material - super stiff, loud when you move. Didn't wear it.

this was a cute dress! I am 6 feet tall so it was a little short on me but worked for a casual Friday at work. because it has an uneven hem that made it tricky, especially if windy. so be careful! the material was not soft and wrinkled easily, so I guess you know it's a real proper shirtdress! 

This was a great dress to wear to work. I wore it with the sleeves rolled up. The belt helps cinch the waist for a more feminine look. The length is perfect and hit right at and above the knees. Material is similar to a dress shirt material. I wish the neckline was a little more exciting but other than that it was a great rent!
