You could definitely get away with downsizing. This ran large, hence tye belt. I understand the dress is meant to be loose but it was way too baggy for me or the look just doesn't suit my pear shape. Regardless, a thin belt brought the outfit together and suited my body shape. Wide belt made me look pirate-y but the thin belt was perfect. SO cute!

Ordered two dresses for a banquet but wore the other to the banquet. Wore this one to play in the orchestra at my church’s Christmas cantata. Runs large, definitely looked better with a belt. Tons of compliments! Really a fun dress! 

Awesome winter dress that was so easy and flow that I didn’t have to be worried about curves. Only thing is the top layer ran a little big in the chest. Perfect dress for shape and height otherwise. Highly recommend 

This runs large. I dozed down and belted it to bring in the waist and it was a stunner. Great for dancing all night!

This dress is sparkly but subtle. I loved everything about it. If I didn’t have a strict clothes budget I’d buy it. Flattering and beautiful. 

See through top, so a tank or appropriate bra helps. It’s pretty and flows, more sparkly than it seems. 

I was unsure about this but got lots of compliments. I should have sized down. You definitely need a full length black slip under it if you’re not wanting to show undergarments. I preferred the neck tied up rather than open. 

Loved this dress got compliments and children told me I looked like Mirabel from Encanto lol so comfortable just upset it was a little too big. Wish I would have sized down

This dress runs large I would size down if I rented again. It was great for a fall wedding in the south not too cold and not too warm! Loved it! 

Obsessed with this dress. The sparkly butterflies, the floaty skirt- everything is perfect. The bodice is a bit sheer but I just wore a black bra and it wasn't noticeable. Run to rent this- it's the perfect combination of sophistication and whimsy 

I found this dress had too much fabric, was a little bulky, and fit pretty large. The pattern was a little too much for my taste, the black was sheer and the butterflies metallic, but it was still a fun dress and I enjoyed dancing in it. Didn't find it flattering but this is why I rent...

I wasn't too sure about this dress when it arrived - the detail is more sparkly than I imagined, it looked a bit frumpy, and seemed like it was just generally a lot of dress/fabric. However, I absolutely loved it once I tried it on! Paired it with a leather jacket to balance out the butterflies and ruffles and it was perfect.

Beautiful dress! Could have sized down one size but made it work! It has some sparkle and shine and lots of flow! It's mesh in the back, I just wore a black bra but you could do a bodysuit or cami. Received a ton of comments! 

Loved this dress! The front of the top isn't sheer as shown in the model pictures but the back is. So many compliments on this dress, and it was very comfortable other than the ties being a bit odd around the wrists.

A little bit of a loose in the chest, perfect length. The butterfly's are so beautiful in person, pictures don't do them justice. 

More glitzy in person than I had thought -- but so fun to wear. I got many compliments and it was fairly comfortable too -- a little itchy/scratchy at the waistband. Would be so fun at a wedding, and dancing in too.

If you were considering this dress- do it. The embroidery is beyond stunning in person and photographs so well! Super feminine and flouncy. If you want to show some skin you could just wear with a black bra as the top is sheer/see-through but I opted for a black slip. 

Great dress, and you will stand out. Probably will not work on a smaller person. I usually wear a 6 or 8, and the smallest size fit me nicely. I had previously tried the medium size and it made me look too fluffy. . . small much more flattering.   The butterflies are shimmery/ shiny, not matte. The back is shear, but easy to wear with a black slip. Great for an evening party of event. 

As other reviewers mentioned the fabric and embroidery is gorgeous, but also very itchy. The tiered skirt and peasant cut top was way too much fabric on my small frame - I should have known it would just add bulk that is unflattering on me. Despite reading reviews before renting, I somehow missed the very low open neckline with the ties - I don't have the chest to fill it out, so it was open almost to my navel! 

Was hosting wine club and this was the perfect dress for having to move around and be cute! 

You need it. Back is sheer so a bra would be visible. I went no bra but you could easily do a black tank underneath. Butterflies are metallic and it is a dream. Ruffles are flattering and I can't say enough good things about this dress 

The dress was so flattering on me. I am 6 months pregnant but no one believed me I was expecting. The material is so comfortable. I got a lot of compliments on this dress. Will surely rent it again.

1st the butterflies are brighter and more metallic than I thought - which was a pleasant surprise for me.
I wore this for an important presentation and it was such a fun and different way to stand out in a work environment.
It needed the belt to break it up for me and the top was a tad baggy but I still loved it and got tons of compliments.
I also wore a cami under as the top is sheer - which could make it fun and flirty in a non work environment

Poofier than I expected but received numerous compliments when I wore. I was disappointed that the collar tie was not as shown like picture on website. Website dress is more like a scarf tie. Actual
dress ties are strings. Dress overall is different and fun! Had to give it another chance after initial try on to get use to it. 

Wore this to my boyfriend's office holiday party and loved it! The top is sheer in the back, so I wore a black tank top underneath to make it more appropriate for a corporate event. The fabric has beautiful sparkly butterflies, so combined with the tiered fabric, it's a perfect dress when you have to dress conservatively but still want to look fun!

The pattern is much more prominent in real life but I loved it! The top is very sheer so wear a bralette or a body suit underneath and you are good to go!

this dress is really pretty, fun and comfortable.  only annoyingness is the strings/ties at wrists.  other than that - loved.

Wore this to an art museum event and felt very elegant and conservative. I wore with a black racer back tank underneath since it's sheer. Very comfortable and breathable.

Great dress! Nice and flowy but ITCHY on the neck where the strings are or any place where the butterflies were. Sheer so wear something under but it had the right amount of sexy! The drawstrings on the sleeves were definitely not necessary and a nuisance to keep tying. 

This dress was comfortable, easy to wear and very flattering. The top half is pretty sheer- so for work, a tank top was definitely necessary! I got a ton of compliments and I definitely plan on wearing this again to an event. Flirty, girly with a little bit of a grunge feel.

This dress is very forgiving if your self-conscience about your stomach area. It hit and fell in all the right places. Also very comfortable and full coverage (arms covered)! Received a lot of compliments.
