I ordered the size 4 which is my normal size. It fit my frame perfectly though was a tad snug on the top portion. As others have pointed out the arm holes are very small which is along the same line as the bust area which was tight but not uncomfortable.  Take this into consideration and size up if you are bigger in these areas. The 6 wasn't available when I ordered this one so I can't compare.The fabric is thick which means you can't see through it at all if the light is behind you. The lower half is just so darn fabulous in that it flows, has movement when you walk and just lays beautifully all the way around.  And an added bonus: you can wear your normal undergarments!  No magic, convertible undergarments needed! My photo is from the end of the night and you can see, perhaps, that there are no wrinkles! Can't wait to rent this dress again. 

I loved this dress! It fit great and was really comfortable. I wore it to a work event so wanted something conservative but still fun and elegant and this dress was exactly that. I wore the 6 and it was a little tight in the arms but I thought it was more flattering than the 8. I am 5' 10" and this dress hit right at the knee.

This was the perfect dress for my build. I have a small waist and bigger hips.  I received so many compliments. The quality of this dress was outstanding and I loved the small detail of it, too. I was very comfortable in it. 

This dress was perfect for a solo I had with a symphony. It's elegant, classy, creates a timeless look. I had so many compliments. It runs true to size. I have a more athletic body so I don't usually have the best hourglass figure, but this dress brought out my best. Definitely would rent this dress again and again. 

The amazing detail of this dress wasn't really picked up on other pictures from my night, hence the trusty selfie. This dress rocked. The fabric was so soft and luxe, and the longer length and sharp design of the dress produced a look that was feminine but strong. It was fairly wrinkled when it arrived, but they came out quickly with a steamer. It was a bit long waisted to me, which cause it to bow out along the zipper if my posture started to go downhill. Was a really minor issue though. Absolutely loved this one!!!

I was completely thrilled with process and even the other dress options would have been okay.... Never thought I would do this but I'm a believer for sure and will rent again and again and again!! 


This dress fit me like a glove! I received many compliments and questions about where I got the dress. I loved the length of the dress and how it flowed. 

Arms are tight. Nice length, comfortable. 

I wore this to a formal event and was very happy with it! A navy blue dress was a nice break from my usual LBDs and the pattern added texture and interest. As with most UK designers, I found the sizing to run small - I could not zip the size 2 up past my shoulders - thank goodness for the second size. This cut is very flattering and it's nice to not have to worry about Spanx or visible panty lines with this type of silhouette. I added a statement necklace and black heels to complete my outfit. 

This was sent as a back up dress. Although I was NOT happy that the dress I wanted to wear was not available, this dress had great material, was very twirly. (Perfect for dancing) And I was very pleased with it. I got many compliments.  The dress went a little past my knee. 

This is a great dress. I wore it to a holiday party, and got a ton of compliments on it all night. In terms of length, I am 5'9" and wore 3 inch heels and it came to about my knees or a little longer. It was really a perfect fit.  It hugged in all the right areas, and flowed in all the right areas.  I'd definitely recommend it.

very strange as the other customers say it is black and on the description says it is black too....but yours looks blue.

I ordered a size 4 to wear but it was extremely tight in the arms, and the dress wouldn't even zip up.  Thankfully I got the optional complementary dress in a size 6.  I thought the dress was black from the pictures on the website, but in person it almost likes like a blue color so it didn't match exactly with the black shawl I bought to wear with it.  It all worked out though!

The dress fit a bit small in the arms, but was a good fit overall. It's very elegant and formfitting at the midsection, and comes to a nice length above the knee. Loved it!

I LOVED this dress. The material was nice and thick, and the subtle pattern made it just dressy enough for a wedding. Plus, the skirt is loose and twirly; perfect for dancing! I couldn't tell in the pictures when I rented it, but there are actually side panels: almost like cutouts, but just a smooth black material rather than the heavy patterned material. I'm also tall, so the length on this was perfect for me. All in all, I would totally rent this dress again.

I'm so glad I got an extra dress. This was very comfortable and classy. I loved the length...you can spin in dress.

Loved the dress. It was just very long on me so I went with something else.

The fabric was so much more detailed in person than the photos show.  The 8 fit me but I felt more comfortable in the 10 so I went with the bigger size.  

This dress is sooo perfect! I felt like a million bucks and got tons of compliments. It did fit beautifully but I had to add a wide belt because it seemed to cut me off in the waist which made my torso shorter but the belt made it much better. 

Got two dresses for a wedding in Westechester NY.  I loved the give and take of the dress and it even swished when my date pushed me around on the dance  floor.  Definitely a must rent

True to size. Amazing fabric. Very classy.

A little tight around the arm holes for those of us with developed arms, but not uncomfortable. The bust looks amazing; I wore a minimizer, but you could wear any bra and it will not show-any bra. The skirt has a great swing to it and shows well on the dance floor. The skirt lining is a nice weight for colder climes. The top emphasizes a trim waist and elongates the figure if you are hourglass or pear. No spanx needed, just stand tall. The material makes this dress standout, the pattern is subtle and the cut gives it a more high end look than the usual LBD. I wish I owned this dress and that it came in more colors. I will rent this again. Great for petites if you can commit to 3"+ heels.

Fit like a glove.  Deep dark navy blue.  Great for Fall/Winter.

Pros - gorgeous material, classy but flattering cut for a more conservative event. 
Cons - arms were really tight. I usually wear a 4 and sized up to 6 because of the arms. Even so, it was still tight and slightly uncomfortable.  Size up and this is a beautiful dress. 

Perfectly paired with a statement necklace. 

I walked into the RTR at Henri Bendel to rent a dress as part of my birthday celebration to wear to the Met. Chelsea was great and this was one of her selections for me and the one I ultimately chose. Fitted on top through the waist, a tiny bit tight in the bust but  not enough to size up. I wore my regular 8. The full circle skirt felt very comfortable and appropriate for my event. This was my 1st RTR rental and I would rent this dress again. 

Sent it back as it hit my legs in a weird spot.  

RTR sent me this dress because the original dress (a little respect dress) wasn't available.This dress is really pretty! Nothing bad to say except that it wasn't outstanding. It was a tad conservative for the event I was going to, almost a bit matronly. I'm tall and this dress hit right below the knee. The top fit BEAUTIFULLY but the skirt was almost TOO full. The fabric is wonderful though, really really nice and luxurious. It is thick and silky with a subtle weave pattern to it. 

Didn't wear it...below the knee for someone 5/3.  Too much dress -- might be good for a MUCH older person that wants to be extremely conservative (I'm 35).  

this was not my taste, but I think it would work really well for a more formal work/church function.  I really appreciate Janna, the sytlist that offered options for me when my dress was not available.  Great customer service!

I was excited about this dress, but overall I found it to be a bit "frumpy".  Not the dress for me.

This dress is a little black dress amped up. The detail and quality surpassed my expectations! I'm almost always a 6 but that size wasn't available and I had read the arms were a bit tight in your regular size. I was happy I went with the 8 arm wise but the dress was roomy everywhere else. Despite this fact, it still looked very flattering! Didn't want to return this gem. 

I got this as a backup but did not wear it.  I had to steam it when it arrived bc the fabric lent itself to wrinkling easily.  I liked the dress tho, it was a fun twist on a LBD.  I wouldn't rent it again as it was not very flattering on me.  I have a small waist and big hips and it just didn't look quite right.  

The skirt is full and beautiful. The fabric is thick and textured. It was awesome. I wanted to keep it. It is perfect for women with tinier waists and full hips and butts. LOVE this dress.
