This dress does run large. I am normally a size 12 no question. I am glad I got the backup in a size 10 but truthfully could have used a size 8. I have a fairly large chest and the top was huge. I used some clothing tape to keep it from gapping. Otherwise, the dress was super comfy and let me dance the night away. Would recommend this dress just size down!!! This was also my first time using rent the runway and I really enjoyed it.   

This dress was so comfortable and so pretty! I love the feminine twist on a black dress. This does definitely run big though, so I'd recommend sizing down. The fabric isn't stretchy though, which is good to know for sizing! Also, you have to wear a racerback bra with this dress because of the back. At 5'5" it hit about 5 inches below my knee, so it was definitely more tea length on me vs. the knee length it looks like on the model.

This dress hides any flaws you have from the chest down.  The only con is that you have to wear a black strapless bra because it's cut a little weird.  The skirt is full and romantic feeling!

This was my first time renting with RTW and I'm very impressed. I had rented this for my fraternity's winter semiformal and wound up wearing the backup style because it fit me better. This dress is really pretty and I liked it a lot. It flares out a lot from the waist but it made my figure look really good. I have a full chest and it was a little narrow so if I did wind up wearing it, I probably would've had to use a sticky bra or find a way to hide my bra

This dress was a quick last minute decision.  It was so flattering. The only thing is it ran larger up top and I️ could have used a smaller size. Very comfortable!

Didn't end up wearing this dress. Ordered in a 6 as a backup dress and the top was too big in the bust so I didn't wear it. The material gapped in the arm. 

I'm a 34C,  so it is really surprising that the size 2 was so huge on my chest, waist, under arms. I was never able to wear the dress :(

This dress really does run large. I  am a true 12, but wore the 10 and it was still a little loose under the arms. I loved the fit and flare - it hid my problem areas perfectly! This was a great price and i would rent it again.

I am busty but it was still slightly loose around the neck, strange sizing. Skirt also flares out but definitely fun for a party

This dress was great for my commencement ceremony. I only wish it had sleeves! 

This dress is very large up top. I normally wear an 8, but per other reviews I sized down and so glad I did. I tried on the 8 and it was loose up top and you could see waaayyy too much side boob. I'm smaller chested (small C), so the size 6 worked out much better for me. The material of the dress was very comfortable, it's super cute and classy. Very appropriate for the Christmas party I attended. I'd highly recommend, but make sure you take your chest size into consideration when ordering

This dress is super cute! It was too large for me in the bust, so I didn't get to wear it, but I love the fun look of it. The racerback adds a touch of fun and the bottom adds elegance. It was very comfy. I wish it fit! 

This was my second option and I didn't end up wearing it. It's LONG, and fit funny. I think it might work if you have a long torso, but the flare bottom of the skirt hit me below the knee and looked awkward. It's a strange fit. 

I wore this for my work's annual fundraiser, which is a business-festive affair.  I wanted something both sassy and professional, and this completely fit the bill. I got SO many compliments!  I wore it with a crinoline, which made it pop just that much more. The only reason I didn't give five stars is that the fit was just a little weird, in that it showed some side-boob. Wearing a black bra made it work, but it meant that I did have a shawl with me, which sadly hid the racer-back.  

The skirt is fabulous--full, interesting, fun. I'll be able to put a cardigan over the top and wear it to work, as well as a party.   All the comments about the top are spot-on. It's designed for someone with a very, very long torso. It'll have to be altered. I'm not sure how any human woman can wear this. 

Pretty, classic black dress. Definitely size down. I  ordered 2 sizes & did not wear either. My typical size was huge & the smaller size gapped open on the sides which wasn't a good look for a work social/awards dinner. 

I made it work but I would not rewear this dress: The back was narrower than I thought, the armholes lower, and the bust generally baggier (and I am a busty person). Overall the torso was cut for someone with a much longer torso than I (I'm 5'5" and I think my torso is pretty average for that height). The waist and skirt fit well though, so I ended up tying the dress in the back so that my bra/sideboob didn't show and then wore a shawl to hide the ribbon. I wish it had fit me better as it was really a lovely dress but if you are on the taller side this might be great for you!

Looks good online but the fit was off.  The length was long and I didn’t end up wearing.

Cute dress, but it is cut too large in the bust and showed way too much. There was no way I could wear this dress. Neither the 6 not the 8 worked. However, the 6 would have been a better size if the dress were cut differently.
