I rented this dress for a New Years Eve Ball 2011.. I received a 8 and 10 and the dress was true to size.  The 8 fit me perfect. The dress was very comfortable and I received so many compliments.. Thanks RTR.. I will be renting again 

I rented this dress for a night out in the city on New Years Eve and I absolutely loved it!! At first I was hesitant about renting this dress because there was only a size 4 left and after reading the past reviews, I thought the dress would be too small for me since I wasn't sure about my actual size. I went with my instinct and I'm happy that I did. It is very form fitting however I just wore a bodyshaper slip underneath to smooth out my tummy area and panty line. I had to get used to the padded shoulders but it definitely put a twist to the classic little black dress. I received plenty of compliments with this dress and it definitely boosted my confidence up being that I usually don't wear form fitting dresses. This was my first time using RTR and I am officially hooked!!

Dress fits your every curve. The shoulders pads gives a "distinguished" look. Sexy and subtle. I think it's great for any party!

This was a perfect dress for a night out in NYC! This wasn't stretchy material so I had to wear the size six and it worked out just fine.

Only concern was in the hips. went up a size to get the right fit there, which meant bust was a little loose. nothing a generous bra can't fix.

I rented this dress for NYE and I absolutely loved it.  It fit very well.  No need to accessorize it with a necklace since there is sequin detail on the front.  It made me feel like a million bucks!

My husband made sure to meet me at the party as soon as possible when he saw me getting this dress out.  Fits an hourglass figure perfectly and you can dress the sequins up or down.  Definitely an attention getter!

what size did you get a 0 or a 2? because I am actually the same exact measurements as you

the dress was great! received a lot of compliments. like mentioned in some reviews though it is a little narrow through the hips. im pretty slim but have some curves. im 34-26-37 and about 122lbs

I hate to say this - but, I could've done so much better than this dress. I wore this in November to my boyfriend's black tie optional party and while it was comfortable and easy to wear - all the details are lost on this dress if you're in a sea of black (which is the typical uniform in Chicago). I should've gone with the black ruffled Catherine Malandrino  instead. Whatever - I'm sure my next rental will be better. 

This dress is BEYOND GORGEOUS! SO SPARKLY AND AMAZING! I felt like a hott diva on a red carpet with this dress on!! Everyone was starring at me.....if you are a size 2-4 I reccomend a size 2!!!! 

I absolutely LOVED this dress. On the hanger its beautiful, when you put it on its GORGEOUS. I ordered it in a 4 and a 6 and the 4 fit like a glove. The sleeves sit a bit higher than a traditional cap sleeve but that is just the cut of the dress. The detailing is exquisite and I received countless compliments. Someone mentioned below that because it isn't spandex the dress is loose however even when I tried on the 6 which was a bit big on me it still hit in all the right places and wasn't baggy at all. I'm pretty tall but the dress didn't ride up and I never felt like it was too short. Simply put this dress is FANTASTIC, one of the prettiest things I've worn in a long time.  

On the hanger, everything about this dress was incredible! But when I put in on, the shoulder pads made my thin frame look awkward. If you have a petite body type, the cut of the sleeves with the shoulder pads won't be very flattering.  

However, I can imagine it to be a knockout if you have a bit more curve!

I was slightly scared after reading the reviews but when I received this dress it was absolutely perfect it flattered my shaped I received countless compliments and will always use Rent the runway. I actually had no idea what kind of results I would receive my expectations were exceeded if there is a rating scale out 10 they receive 10. I noticed the other reviews you might not want to order this dress if you are short and don't have curves to start with. Otherwise this dress gets the BOMB.COM Rating from me WOW WOW WOW!!!!


I rented for an evening birthday party, it was great since I requested a 2&4.
I am normally a size 3 but with larger bust than hips.
I liked the hip fit of the 2 but the bust was too tight, forcing me to bump up to the 4. Normal issue for me, so no complaints- I would rent this again if I could:-)

I didn't get to wear this dress. The zero was too large on me.

The dress was too small through the shoulders and wouldn't lay correctly so I couldn't wear it.  I told RTR and they gave me credit so I could rent something wonderful for my next big moment (which I did :))

This dress is beautiful, the detailing is superb and extremely attractive looking and I like the length and the padded shoulders that give the piece an extra touch of sass. However, and perhaps this was a personal misconception on my part- The dress truly had absolutely no stretch. It wears rather like a sheath and I can only conclude that the model's stance gives you the illusion that this piece would be form fitted and work on a curvy girl. It would not and it does not simply because the material of the dress will glide over your hips and will not contract to your waist AT ALL. So curvy ladies and indeed ladies in general if you were searching for a form fitting, curve hugger look again...plenty more to choose from. 

This dress runs extremely small. I ordered my normal size 6 (per other reviews), I could barely get it on. Luckily I had an 8 as well but it was still too small. I had a size 10 and 12 shipped out to me overnight. They both fit but the 12 was more comfortable. So 4 dresses later I wore it on my 27th birthday and got tons of compliments. It's a beautiful dress and the detailing is impeccable. I just think the sizing was totally off. 

The fit was good, but the shoulder pads we're working for me (seemed a little thick/high). When I put it on it didn't look as fun an youthful on me like it does on the model. Still a beautiful dress though. 

Dress was too big, couldn't wear it unfortunately

did not love this dress. I originally picked out another dress but it was ripped so they sent me this one I guess that was similar to my other one. I did not like the design of the sequins but the other park was kind of cool. It was a little long on me and the way the sleeve is cut was very unusually. I have worn a lot of cap sleeves and shoulder pads before but the way it was cut it didn't fit on my shoulders and you cant adjust well because the neck is very high. It wasn't a totally bad dress it just wasn't my style. I rented a dress by him that was great its the black one with the cap sleeve and it amazing! 

This dress looks a little brown in the photo but it is definitely black. A very interesting take on the little black dress. Super comfy! Loved it! Wore it in Vegas for my bachelorette weekend.

I think I would have preferred a size 0 but they actually sent me two size 2s. If you're typically between a 0 and a 2, I would say try both. I felt it was a little big on me but I did not have a 0 to try on.

I did not like this dress and ended up wearing a different one to my event. The shoulder pads are big and the shape of the shoulder/arm area is a little off.  Also, while it's meant to be form fitting, the dress does not have any spandex/elastic in it, so the cut on me seemed to poof out in the hips rather than hugging...it looked awkward, not sexy at all.  Maybe I just ordered too big...but the proportions of hip size to shoulder size just didn't seem right.
