This gown is absolutely stunning, especially in person. It does run very very small. I am usually a size 2 and could not zip it up in the back in the 2R. Specifically, the belted part and the ribcage area were very tight on me. I would highly recommend sizing up one size if you are smaller busted/have smaller hips and size up 1-2 sizes if you're more curvy/hourglass. The dress does have a built in bra, but I would not recommend it for anyone with a large bust as this area runs small as well. The nude mesh underlay is amazing and almost invisible, but super delicate so be careful when putting the dress on! The hips have a bit of stretch, but again definitely size up if you are more curvy in this area. The regular length was good on me and I probably could have worn 2-3 inch heels. Finally, the color was a lot more of a fluorescent coral in person (not really a pastel). Overall, a beautiful and very special gown.
Gorgeous dress!! But I ended up wearing a size 2 of another dress that even fit a little big while this size four did not close by two inches. Go 2 sizes up!
I am broad-shouldered and bigger on top. I'm normally a size 4 in dresses, and wore the 8, but I think the 10 would've been ideal honestly. Dress I had shows signs of wear and tear, but still fabulous and made my night to be wearing such a well-constructed piece. Extra special thnx to WILLIAM at RTR - this man saved me! <3
The dress is truly stunning in person and in pictures. It does run small so order one size up. Also, make sure you have a friend or two to help zip you zip the dress up since there's a corset part and then the actual dress zipper.
The gown is exquisite. It's delicate but is well made with some boning giving structure to the top part. The gown runs small. I am almost always a 0 and I could not zip it up. I would recommend sizing up as I am petite and didn't fit into my usual size. Also, the picture isn't like the gown. In the picture it looks like the inner lining of gown stops at knee and the lace goes all the way down. This is not the case. The inner lining goes all the way down to the ground with the lace. It makes the dress even more elegant. Definitely recommend it!
I am reminded why in the future, I shouldn't spend $800 on something I haven't tried on. This dress is NOT easy to wear. I'm not saying that there's no one out there who looks amazing in this dress, but I usually have a fairly off-the-rack kind of body, and this was a super strange fit. First, as everyone has said, this runs TINY. I usually wear a 2, and I had to go two sizes up to even get the (really sticky) zipper closed. The fit was ok, but then the zipper in the back puckered A LOT on the upper back, so it was still totally unwearable. Thank God I had a backup (which happened to be STUNNING and was perfect in all the ways that this dress wasn't - check out the Champagne gown from Badgely Mishka. 1/8th the price, and it's way more elegant and wearable). I have no problem spending that kind of money on something that fits beautifully, and it's a beautiful dress on the rack so if you can try it on, go for it. But it is not even close to wearable enough to spend $800 blind, no matter how many sizes you get. Don't do it. I would like to add that RTR was amazing, and their customer service is outstanding. I'm thrilled with my experience, and the dress I ended up with. Just not this particular gown.
I ordered this dress through the unlimited program and was very excited to wear such a beautiful designer dress. It is very heavy, the material feels like it came off of a ballet tutu, and the color is much more orange than coral. It also fit in the hips, but was way too small in the rib cage, which is pretty odd for me. Usually, it is the other way around.
This was my backup dress. The size 2R was too small and I was unable to zip it up. I should have ordered the 4R. It's a gorgeous gown nonetheless, but I couldn't even zip it up.
I am 5'3" and the dress was too short on me even with no heels on. Seems like someone hemmed it because a size 8 should not be that short. Generally I can wear 3-5 inch heels with all dresses. Also dress ran super small but I would try it again sometime in a 10 and hope that it would be long enough.
