The color, the cut, the fit - everything about this dress was perfect! I wore it for a gala and received compliments continuously throughout the evening. This was a last minute rental, and I couldn't have been happier with it! 

I wore this gown to a military ball with my boyfriend and I absolutely loved it. I am very petite and it fit me perfectly. The picture doesn't show my feet, but the gown was the perfect length with 3.5 inch heels. It didn't drag on the ground at all, which is rare for my height! The material felt great and was very stretchy and comfortable. I was sad to have to send this back! This was my first rental from RTR as well and the entire process was so easy and convenient. I'm a very busy grad student and it was great to be able to order online, pick out a backup dress, and have them delivered right to my door. I'd absolutely recommend this gown and renting from RTR!

Loved the dress.... The 44 R would have been perfect if it had been a tad bit longer.  Since my heels were 3.5 inches I had to go with the back up size (46L). While the 46L did not fit as well as I would've liked, it was a beautiful dress and the color is fabulous!! I received compliments all night. I definitely recommend this dress.

Rented this gown for a garden-themed Emerald and Evergreen Gala - so it had to be green, natch.  This was actually planned as the backup dress, but long story short, a mixup on the RTR end (previous renter late return) botched that plan.  

Luckily, this dress was fabulous.  I think it runs TTS - it was a little big in the bodice for me and I ended up pinning about 1.5 inches of fabric on the side.  The next smaller size wasn't available anyway so I don't know for sure but I think it would have been perfect.  The draping is terrific; the fabric is a nice weight (not too thin) and, though you can't tell from the photos, the gown is fully lined and the lining is sewn to the hem of the dress, which is genius since that way it never bunches up or shifts on its own.

I wore with a backless strapless stickon bra and highwaist Spanx - both totally necessary unless you have a convertible bra (and a perfect bod).  The length was just right with my 1.75" heels.  Compiments all night - as usual, sad to put it back in the mail.  Thanks RTR!

Hi Brianna - sorry for the delay, I just got the email from RTR today indicating that someone had commented on my review. It's hard to say about the dress length. I am not normally a "tall" or "long" in dresses - even with really high shoes.  With this dress I wore really high heels. Like 4" heels.  And the "long" dress was barely long enough, which was surprising to me. Hope this helps!

I am exactly your size and body shape, except a couple inches taller, would you recommend this dress for me or do you think I should keep looking?


This dress is GORGEOUS! I rented for a formal wedding and received so many compliments, including, "You walked in here looking like a Grecian goddess." This was my first RTR experience, and I was concerned about the fit, but it was perfect. Underneath, I wore a strapless bra and Spanx (I recommend some kind of shapewear because of the draping of the fabric). Speaking of the draping - I can't remember the last time I wore a more flattering dress. NB - if you are 5'5" or 5'6" and are planning on wearing heels taller than 1/2", order the "long" length.

Is the dress as light is it appears on the website?

On the website the dress photographs as a lighter pale green but in your picture it is a deeper green. What is the actual color of the dress in person?

Hi Erin! The fabric is forgiving, but I would still recommend wearing Spanx, they work wonders regardless!

This gown is gorgeous! The bust was fitted in a very flattering way and the twist at the upper waist really conceals nicely. I would recommend SPANX just in case due to the material, but it still was very comfortable in my true size. So stunning!

Beautiful color and elegant cut  - got lots of compliments! It was also surprisingly comfy throughout the evening w/a receiving line, dinner and dancing. The lining is stitched into the dress, so no problems with wrinkling or riding up.

I ordered a 44 because the 42 wasn't available. It was a little roomy in the bodice (not unusual for me), but the length was shorter than expected (ended up wearing low heels, and if it had been any shorter I'd have worn embellished flat sandals).  The hemline was a bit bunched/puckered and a little narrower than shown online. None of this was a dealbreaker, though: it is a beautiful dress!

The dress I originally ordered was damaged. RTR Customer Service was amazing! They had sent a different gown in replacement of the original damaged dress, with the option to pick another dress if the one they sent had any issues. I picked this dress as the backup and ended up wearing this to my cousin's black tie April wedding. It was very flattering. I used a little bit of tape to keep the dress up and spanx to smooth out any possible underwear lines. It hide all the flaws while making me feel glamorous all night. Being 5'2", I was so worried that this dress would be long. Wearing 3" heels and then flats, the length was great. My only issue with this dress is it was a little hard to (ballroom) dance with my husband, as my steps were smaller than normal, as restricted by the gown. Otherwise I would totally rent this again. It was a great, unexpected find. 

I'm 5'2" and I wore 4" heels and I would say the dress was about an inch too long on me. It wasn't a disaster though it moves well when you walk so I don't think it looked weird. The fabric is stretchy and clingy so spanx are recommended! I loved the color which is a little deeper green and less teal than the picture suggests.

The dress came and fit perfectly.  The color I darker than in the original picture.  Very fitting and slimming.  Would recommend it. 

This was my first rental and I was not wowed at all. The style I wanted was not available so i went with my second choice. The color was not as vibrant as I wanted it to be. The affair was on Valentine's day so I wanted to stand out in color. Sadly this gown fell flat. The hem at the bottom was awkward. I had to wear a 6 inch heel (platform) to wear this gown. The shoulder strap could have been a little shorter for me. 
The gown is indeed a form forgiving style however I did have to wear a body shaper to smooth out my bulges. However, the gown is comfortable and light. 


What's nice about this dress is that it is extremely flattering -- comes in at the waist but not too clingy in the tummy (who wants that?!).  There's a nice stretch to this dress -- but I still decided to go with the size up (ordered a 44 and 46) because of the bust.  I could fit into both but the 46 was more comfortable.  I wore the long and it was a bit too long, but completely wearable.  The 44R was a bit too short. Love the one shoulder -- makes it just sexy enough -- but still the perfect dress to wear to something where you want to look classy and beautiful.  Love the color!  Great green (all you green eyed girls should get this one!)

I was worried that the dress would be too long even with 5" heels.  I wore 3" heels and the draping was perfect!  Great overall draping from shoulder to feet.  Material has give and movement making it extremely comfortable and required no "adjusting" during the evening even after several black tie events and dancing at each.  I receive so many compliments on the color of the dress.  Not a "bright" color but a deeper teal that was perfect for black tie allowing me to "shine" in a see of black dresses.

The only thing that I didn't like was that the bubble hem was weird. I bought the dress from RTR and had the hem taken out. Once the bubble hem was gone, I loved it! Great length now with heels and very flattering fit.

Full disclosure: I'm 5'11", so most things are short on me.  And when I initially tried this dress on, I didn't realize that I needed to really yank on the lining to get it to hang properly.  But the "long" definitely didn't cover my feet like in the picture with the RtR model.  Which, whatever, they're feet, we all have them, and my shoes were awesome.  But it felt a little awkward just the same.

Other notes: the fabric is beautiful and somewhat darker than shown.  I had to use some fashion tape on the bodice to hide my strapless bra, but I I think just about anyone would have to do that.  I got lots of compliments all night.  

This is a wonderful dress if you want to be comfortable and look stunning.  I am 5'10 and typically wear a 6 or 8 dress.  I rented the 44L and it fit perfectly.  HIGHLY recommend a control garment underneath due to the fabric.  I gave it 4 stars due to the length was a little short - If I had worn flip flops the lenght would have been perfect.  The green is a pretty jade color. 

I've seen some comments that this dress is darker than it seems in the picture. How would you have described the color?

Hi Kelly! The dress definitely looks a bit darker in person than it does in the image of it on the model. The customer photos show an accurate depiction of the color of the dress! 

This was a backup dress for a black tie wedding. If this dress was black, I would have worn it in a heart beat. Even though the color is beautiful, I ended up going with a black dress with some sparkle. My only other complaint is that it was a tad short for my liking. Barefoot, it hit the tops of my feet but with shoes, like I said, a little shorter than I would have liked..and my shoes were only 2 inches or so. But I'm 5'11" so its bound to happen! I'm 5'11", 34 B, 150 lbs, athletic build and it fit me perfectly..it was seriously SO comfortable! And the color is truly beautiful and looks fantastic with silver sparkle!

The fit was really strange - the picture online made this dress look long but it was oddly short on me ( and I'm not tall). The bottom hem didn't seem straight no matter how I tried to pull everything down- it kind of curved up at the sides. The top fit beautifully though and the color was very flattering. I ended up wearing the other dress in my order because I was really unhappy with the way the bottom looked.

It's a pretty dress, but overall it's just okay. The fabric wasn't as expensive looking as I would like, the hem fell a little weird and it didn't accentuate my small waist like I hoped it would.

  I ordered the 10 long. The dress was beautiful & was true to size except for the length. I am only 5'6" tall & with any heels at all, the dress was too short.  RTR offered to send a new style but I did not have time before I had to leave to go out of town for my event. 



This was actually a backup dress that I went with because the other was too long. This just hit the floor with 4" heels, and was very comfortable. The only problem is that it stretches throughout the night. Because it was loose, the hanger strings kept popping out from underneath my armpits. At this point, I was very grateful that fashion tape was included with the dresses. I would suggest with this dress to go a size down and maybe talk with a specialist on the length.

I am only 5'1 and wearing 3inch heels the 38R was a little short plus the hem line was just weird. You can kinda see in the picture, but this dress doesn't have a straight (i.e. normal) hem, its more of a bubble hem? Where the fabric bubbles over without a straight line. When the dress isn't touching the ground- it is very obvious and basically looks like someone tried to pin it up with safety pins. That was the major negative and due to this, and the other dress looking better, I did not wear it. If I had worn it I would have gone with shorter heels to have the dress drag and avoid showing hem. 
The fabric was great, not too sheer with lots of stretch. The color was also a little better in person, a little big less 'washed out' looking than in the picture. 
The bunching on the stomach also helped hide stomach fat well. Overall an ok dress as long as the hem is touching the ground. 

This was my first choice dress and luckily rented a second style.  It was too small which made it run too short.  I was disappointed.  But, there wasn't a second size choice that was available when I placed my order.  I ended up wearing a size 2 Badgley Mischka instead.  

I LOVE Rent the Runway.  This was my first disappointment.  I wanted to rent the 8L but they only had the 8R.  I'm 5'8 and figured I would wear flats and be fine.  But this dress didnt even come to my ankles (i'm 5'7-5'8).  It looked worn.  Disappointing.

I really wanted to wear this dress, but unfortunately, the long was several inches off the ground in my bare feet. The top fit nicely, though. Good luck to shorter ladies!
